Sal Robles Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sal Desi Robles of Carson California, on April 20th, 2023, at the age of 87. Sal was born on March 14, 1936, in La Puente, California to Salome and Jessie Robles. He was one of ten children. Sal was raised in San Pedro and graduated in 1955 from Mary Star of the Sea High School where he became class president, enjoyed writing in the school paper and played football, all while also maintaining his job at DiCarlos Bakery. Sal served in the Army of the United States, stationed in Ft Ord, California and Fort Belvoir, Virginia (Military District of Washington, DC. until he was honorably discharged in 1960. He then returned to Di Carlos Bakery where he enjoyed a 48-year career until he retired in 2002 at the age of 66. Sal married his high school sweetheart, Diane in 1956. Sal and Diane had two children, Roxanne and David. He was also blessed with 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, whom were the pride and joy of his life. Sal enjoyed photography, making model airplanes, martial arts, music of all types of especially jazz and more recently collecting and watching old movies. Sal is survived by his sisters Amelia "Malie" Gonzales and Joesphine "Pina" Bautista, and brothers, Joseph, and Bobby (Nikki) Robles. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Eloise, Mary, Alice and brothers Chavo, and Hank. He will be forever loved and forever remembered. Rosary will be held at Holy Trinity Church, San Pedro with Funeral Mass held directly after on Wednesday, April 26th at 10:00 AM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Jude Children Hospital.
