Ruth A. Schatz, 55 of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023 in Signature Health Care. She was born in Terre Haute on July 19, 1968 to Nelson Norton and Jane Cheeseman Norton. Ruth is survived by two sons, John Worthington, Sr. (Megan), and Nelson Norton, Sr. (Carleen), and her grandchildren; Chance Worthington, John Worthington, Jr. , Nelson Norton, Jr. , Alaiyna Anderson, Isaac Foote, Brinlee Anderson, Blaine Hunt, and Maddox Hunt. She is also survived by a sister, LueAnn Pilkington, two nieces, Brittney Miller and DeAnna Pilkington, great nieces and nephews; Sincere Strong, Cayson Strong, Chariti Miller, and Axton Miller, as well as four step-children; Cheyenne Gilbert, Dalton Schatz, Zach Gilbert, and Alyssa Hannah. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Collett Park Pavilion on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 5:00 PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fitzpatrick Funeral Home. She was born in Sandford, IN on March 10, 1942 to Clifford Connor and Helen Wheeler Connor. Gail retired from Columbia House after many years of service. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing BINGO, and going to the casino, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandkids. Gail is survived by her three daughters; Debbie Harden (Bill), Babbie Downing, and Misty Crunk (Craig), as well as her grandchildren; Michael Pine, Jr. (Shanna), David Pine (Jessica), Brian Downing (Megan), Mark Downing, Jr. , Justin Wilguess, Jesse Wilguess, Shawn Wilguess, Brent Harden, Kim Gregg, and Kelsea Crunk. She is also survived by a brother, Franklin Connor, and two sisters, Virginia Dunkley (Jitts), and Shirley Judy (Frank), as well as several great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry L. Scott in 1988, and four sisters; Bertha Morris, Emma Higgs, Marlene Whitesell, and Evelyn Neal. Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St. , West Terre Haute, IN on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Amelia Lynn Herman, age 47, went to be with our Lord and Savior while surrounded by family on October 23, 2023. She was born August 1, 1976 in Terre Haute to Diana L Day and Gary L Herman Sr. Amelia was a devoted Daughter, Mother, Gammie, Sister, and Aunt who dedicated her life to caring for others. During her younger years, she worked tirelessly as a certified nursing assistant, providing comfort and assistance to those in need. Amelia's nurturing spirit illuminated through her work as a childcare provider, where she looked after children as if they were her own. Her attentiveness and kindness will be remembered by all those who worked beside her during her 10-year career as a housekeeper at Drury Inn. Most of all, Amelia will be remembered for her endless love and support for her family. She always put others' needs before her own and enjoyed spending time with her mother, children, granddaughter, siblings, and other close friends and family. Some of Amelia's favorite memories were visiting the beach with her family and spending time with her granddaughter. Amelia's compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed. Though her caring hands and generous heart are no longer with us, her memory will live on through those who loved her. Amelia was preceded in death by her grandparents Roy E Day, Barbara R Day (Wade), cousin Ted W. Putman Jr. , and her great nephew Brady W. Fulk Jr. all of Terre Haute.
