Charlotte Anne Ruesch (née Curtis)April 2, 1944 - November 11, 2023 Surrounded by her loved ones, Charlotte Anne Ruesch passed away peacefully in her home in Hauser Lake, ID, on November 11, 2023. Charlotte is survived by her devoted husband, Don Ruesch, and her loving children: Deborah Ruesch Pumarejo and her husband Jabriel, Patricia Ruesch Grogan and her husband Greg, and Donald Ruesch and his wife Jaci. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Seth, Montana, Olivia, Cole, Zane, Jack, and Ryan. She was predeceased by her father, Benette Curtis and her mother, Pearl Cross Curtis, and her siblings, Annette Curtis and Noreen Curtis Gallager. Don and Charlotte's love story began in Los Gatos, CA, in 1962. They married on November 23, 1963, and together built a life filled with love and cherished moments. Charlotte was a devoted wife and mother, raising her family with warmth and care. The couple started their journey in San Jose, CA, later moving to Tucson, AZ, and eventually upstate NY, where they became empty nesters. Charlotte reveled in this time, exploring the East Coast and creating lasting memories. She enjoyed sightseeing visiting New England, NY City, as well as Niagara Falls. When Don and Charlotte initially settled into their New York home during the winter, with temperatures hovering around 10 degrees Fahrenheit, Charlotte exclaimed, "This is the greatest thing in the world. " Experiencing the cold and snowy climate for the first time, she wholeheartedly embraced every aspect of their new adventure, including the weather that came with it. Charlotte's love for the cold climates of both the Northeast and Northwest endured throughout her life. Their move to Billings, MT, was driven by the desire to be close to their grandchildren, Olivia and Jack Ruesch. They moved to Hauser Lake, ID, after falling in love with the area and it became their final home. Charlotte, a true California girl, found joy in camping and family gatherings. As a homemaker, she provided comfort to her family. Rumor has it, neither Charlotte nor Don knew how to cook much when they first got married, but no one could believe it as the years went by. Any time she cooked heads would turn at the dinner table in awe. Not only was this one of her gifts, but she passed it on to Don and to her children; all who make amazing meals when they are gathered. Her passion for cooking, creativity, and love for sharing meals with loved ones will be a lasting legacy. She possessed a rare gift of instantly connecting with people, earning her the reputation of knowing no strangers. Charlotte had a unique ability to see joy in others and make everyone feel like family. Charlotte's faith was a source of strength, and she lived her life with unwavering devotion to Jesus. Her impact is evident in the faith she shared, influencing those around her, including her oldest daughter. With a radiant smile, Charlotte provided comfort and security. Her presence was a constant source of support, especially during pivotal moments in her children's lives. Patricia fondly recalls her mother volunteering in her 1st-grade class, bringing a sense of familiarity and love. Memories of camping trips, dice games, and road trips filled with music are etched in each of her children’s hearts. Their fondest memory is Charlotte's infectious smile, illuminating every room and making every visit home a joyous occasion. Charlotte will be remembered for her love, warmth, and the indelible mark she left on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. A memorial service to celebrate Charlotte's life will be held on January 4th at 11:00 am at North Country Chapel (the Stone Church) 2365 W Seltice Way, Post Falls, ID 83854. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hauser Fire Association, 10728 N. Hauser Lake Road, Hauser ID 83854 Hauser Lake Fire.
