Frederick "Pete" Harry London, age 87 of Noxen, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. He was born in Lehman Twp., on July 4, 1936, and was the son of the late Elijada D. and Mildred Crispell London. Pete attended Lehman Outlet School. He was a 32-year employee of Elston and Gould and later retired from Jack Williams in Dallas. Pete was a member of the Outlet Community Church, Lehman. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Jennie Milbrodt, Hope London, Theodore London, Ethel Bielecki, Stephen London, Ernest London, Flora Milbrodt, Marion May and Richard London. Pete is survived by his loving wife, the former Iva May, who were married on November 9, 1963; son, Carl London and his wife Kathy; daughter, Janet Titus and her husband Larry; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Outlet Community Church, 531 Lehman-Outlet Rd., Dallas, PA 18612 with Pastor Skye Rogers, officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., corner of Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek. Memorial Contributions may be made to Donor’s favorite charity. John J. Brody, 87, of Monroe Twp. died Monday evening February 5, 2024, at Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas. Born in Eaton Twp. on December 25, 1936; the son of the late Micheal and Jennie Baroody Brody. His wife of 65 years is the former Marilyn Harding. John belonged to the Tunkhannock Baptist and then Northmoreland Baptist Church where he served at each as treasurer. He served his country in the Army Reserves; worked as a cost estimator at Bendix for 30yrs; and as tax collector for Monroe Twp. for 20yrs. He enjoyed raising strawberries and cutting firewood to sell. As a youth he could always be found on a ball field. He played for Jenks at first base in the Tri County Baseball League and later played many years of softball. He coached little league baseball along with women’s softball and volleyball. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling and spending time with his family. John was preceded in death by two brothers Micheal Jr. and George; two sisters Alice Spencer and Louise Jadick. Besides his wife he is survived by his children Roy (Joan) of Tunkhannock, Linda (Joe) Lawler of Tunkhannock and Jeanne (George) Anderson of Monroe Twp.; brother, James Brody of Monroe Twp.; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Isabelle Hoyt, 86, of Dallas, passed away on February 6, 2024 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. She was born on June 14, 1937 (on Flag Day, as we were always reminded) and was the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Snyder Coolbaugh. Isabelle, known as "Gram" these days, attended Lake Lehman schools, after which she married Cletas "Kate" Hoyt, and spent the rest of her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being with family, who were her greatest joy. Isabelle was a natural born caregiver to all her kids, her husband, until his death in 2006, and anyone else who needed her. She enjoyed day trips with her family, her crossword puzzle books which were never far from reach, and was always with the phone in her hand for some good conversation with family and friends. Isabelle also loved her church and church family. She will be sorely missed. She resided in Dallas with her eldest daughter for the past 8 years, but home was Beaumont where she lived and raised her family for over 50 years. In addition to her parents and husband, Isabelle was preceded in death by sisters, Florence Miller, Marion Rishell, and Lois and Jenny Coolbaugh; brothers, George, Ralph, and Donald Coolbaugh; and great-granddaughter, Emma Jane Pensak. Surviving are her daughters, Cindy Hoyt, Brenda Hoover, Tammy (Andy) Simko; sons, Cletas, Jr. (Kathleen) Hoyt, William (Lillian) Hoyt, Wayne (Deborah) Hoyt); 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, William Coolbaugh; sister, Minnie Miller; sisters-in-law, who she loved as her own family, Iva Coolbaugh, Lois "Cappy" Ransom, and Joyce Chapin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and let us not forget her little faithful companion, Dotty. Robert H.Thomas, age 92 of Dallas, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. He was born in New London, CT on June 1, 1931 and was the son of the late William H. and Clara Olsen Thomas. Robert served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked as a machinist/tool maker in Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Robert was a man of great faith and served as President of Connecticut Federation of Adult Bible Classes. He also held many positions in several churches including Deacon, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, Music Director, Choir Member and Lay Preacher. Robert was a current member of the Northmoreland Baptist Church, Tunkhannock. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan for 84 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, the former Mildred Ide; second wife of 24 years, the former Eva Martin; son, David Thomas; brother, William Thomas. Robert is survived by daughters, Joan Thomas and Carol Lawrence and her husband Gary; sister, Cora Walag; grandsons, John Richards, Jr., Mark Richards and his wife Rachel, and David Richards. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 at 10:00 am from the Curtis L. Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late John and Lottie Kmush. Virginia was a graduate of Plymouth High School. She was employed by Social Security Administration before she started her family. She was a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth. Virginia will be remembered as a wonderful and loving mother who always put her family first. She enjoyed being a stay at home mom while her children were growing up . She enjoyed gardening, shopping with her daughters, and taking care of various stray animals. She was a friend to all animals. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Arthur Hakim, who passed away in August; and her brother John Kmush. Surviving are her daughters, Tracey Hakim and Kelly Hakim, both of Plains Township and her sister Nancy Rowlands, Plymouth. Romaine Isabel Latimer Kunkle, 90 of Dallas, PA died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 after fighting many courageous battles with several medical conditions. She was born in Kingston, PA on September 27, 1933 to William P. and Elizabeth Isabel Latimer. After graduating from Kingston High School she worked at Wyoming National Bank and Commonwealth Telephone. On May 16, 1953 she married the love of her life, best friend and confidante Paul H. Kunkle, and for the next 70 years they created a loving, warm and welcoming home for their four children, Mark (Sandy), Kathy Schrecengost (John), Bruce (Bonnie) and Polly Schaefer (David), including seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Early on Romaine loved family camping, especially at Lake Cayuga in New York. Spending time and hosting awesome family meals were some of her most enjoyable times. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking, travel, antiquing, dancing and spending time during the winters at her home in Bradenton, Florida. She sang in her church choir and played in the bell choir. She was a member of Priscilla Circle and the Irem Ladies Auxillary. As an avid golfer she was a member of three women’s golf leagues. In addition to her husband and children she is survived by a sister Caroline numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jean and Delores and brother Louis. The Kunkle Family wishes to thank the Shavertown United Methodist Church and Orange United Methodist Church, the Henry Cancer Center, Allied Services and her home health care workers Amy and April. After emigrating to the US in 1955, he was a bus driver with Varsity Transit, Queens, NY. Moving to Dallas, PA in 2007. He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church and well as an Altar Server and The Alar and Rosary Society and was a Eucharistic Minister. The Cavan Men’s Association. Philip would volunteer much of his time and energy at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. He had served his country proudly with The National Guard from 1956 to 1958. Philip was preceded in death by his wife the former Patricia Matthews in 2020, Brothers, John, James, Michael, Patrick, Kevin, and Vincent. Sisters, Mary, Anne, Bridie, Kathleen, Rose, and Theresa.
