Ruth Susanna Ewing Elder, 91, of Panama City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Ruth was born and raised in Galesburg, IL and graduated in 1948. She went on to work for the School Board before marrying and raising a family. Ruth also was the Manager at Ellis Jewelers at the mall. She moved to Panama City in 1984 and worked as a Bookkeeper at the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club for over 30 years. Ruth loved to travel, cook, watch sports and be with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Elder; son, Eddie Elder; and parents, William Ewing and Myrtle Peterson. Left to treasure Ruth's memory are her daughters, Lucy Haggard (Paul) and Laurie Rhodes (Danny); sons, Bill Elder and Brad Elder; grandchildren, Katie Selby (Charlie), Joey Haggard, Joseph Eldridge (Kim), Jessicca Wiemken and Thomas Elder (Kyleigh); great-grandchildren, Troy Selby, Dillon, Bryce and Roman Eldridge, Lillie Wiemken and Letti Elder; sister, Lucy Ewing; and furbabies, Smokie, Smiley and Blackie. She will be laid to rest in Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, IL.
