Charles (Charlie, Chuck) Francis Smith went home to his Lord on October 17, 2023, surrounded by family and loved ones at the age of 74. Charles, the youngest of four children, was born on October 10,1949 to parents Francis and Adelaide (Haupt) Smith in Beaumont, TX. He grew up in Syracuse, NY where he attended Catholic grade school at St. Lucy's Academy where he also served as an altar boy. He went on to attend Henninger High School and Corcoran High School. Although he did not graduate, he went on to successfully complete his GED. Charles had a green thumb and secured a job at Gravina's Nursery, a job he really loved. Charles enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam war era. After his stint in the Navy he traveled across the United States hitchhiking from New York to California. He loved telling stories of his adventures. Charles moved to Oklahoma City in 1976 where he met his life partner, Eleanor Scheib, and they were together for 46 years. He helped raise Eleanor's daughters, Sherry and Christy whom he loved very much. Charles is survived by two sisters, Julianne (Daniel) Carlton of Elbridge, NY, Catherine Connelly of North Syracuse, NY and a half-brother, David (Kathy) Smith of Baldwinsville, NY, sister-in-law, Debbie Smith, Winnabow, NC. along with nieces and nephews Nathan, Kevin and Steven Carlton, Kim Pierce, Anthony Hall, Heather Cook, Scott Scheel, Julie Smith, Christine Pratt, Jennifer Healy, Jessica Bakay, Andrew Smith and Erin Wisneski. He also leaves behind Eleanor, Sherry, Christy, and five grandchildren, Nura, Fatima, Saraj. Paige and Trevin. Charles is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Franklin Smith, brother-in-law Jerry Connelly, nieces Christina Smith, Deanne Smith and Lynette Saltus. Throughout his life, Charles was known for his love of classic cars, his favorite was the 1957 Ford Fairlane. He worked at several jobs, including factory work, gas station attendant, a lawn mowing business, but he was mainly into "wheeling and dealing" What he loved most was buying, selling and working on classic cars. He had a strong desire to return to New York to live out the rest of his days. Unfortunately, obstacles prevented him from realizing his dream. It was his final wish to be buried here in New York. Charles will be dearly missed by his family, friends and loved ones. Charles life was remembered on November 6,2023 with a viewing, visitation and gathering service under the direction of Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary, Yukon, Oklahoma. Charles will be buried alongside his mother. *Burial services include military honors and will be held Saturday, November 11,2023 at noon in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Hamilton Street, Jordan NY Charles was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. Laurie (Wavercak) Farrell, of Jordan, N. Y. , passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 31, 2023. She is the daughter of the late Michael and Roberta Wavercak. She grew up as a "river rat" on Seneca River in Jacks Reef and enjoyed an ideal childhood with lots of friends to dance, swim, skate and play with. She worked at Tessy Plastics for 40 years, starting as a Machine Operator and retiring as a Production Scheduler, but her favorite duty was being the party planner. She was famous for her golf tournaments and Halloween parties! Halloween was Laurie's favorite holiday, and she frequently took 1st place for her costumes. She was a great golfer and she loved to create with beads and glitter. Most of all, Laurie loved her family! She will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives have been touched by her. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Bertram Farrell, III; sons, Jeffrey Johnson (Kim Herrick), Gordon Johnson (Suzzanne), Bertram Farrell, IV, (Danielle), daughter Kristina Chalupnicki (Marc);5 siblings, Linda Slater, Michael Wavercak, Mark Wavercak, Timothy Wavercak (Nancy), Tammy Sheffield (Phil); 9 grandchildren, Samantha, T. Richard M. Nuhn passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Buffalo on October 28, 1941 to the late Henry L. and Fredona Mason Nuhn. Richard and his family re-located to several different cities and states while working for Conrail until he retired in the late 90's. They settled in Central New York in 2004. Richard was a 32nd Degree Mason and active in Masonic Lodges throughout his life and was a past Master at several. He was an active member in the Erie Canal Lodge 141, Liverpool Syracuse Lodge 501 and several other lodges within the state. He was District Deputy Grand Master, Columbia District 1992-1994. He was also active in Tigris Shrine, Kedar Khan Grotto and the Royal Order of Jesters. He was a member of Elbridge Community Church and the Syracuse Stamp Club. He was previously active in the Rotary Club of Cato. Richard spent his retirement years catering meals for different organizations, cooked for the JEACB Kids Break Program and Tigris Shrine Bingo. His generous nature and the work he did through charitable organizations touched many lives. He loved nothing more than to entertain and feed friends and family at his home. Richard is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 61 years Beatrice (Bailey); sons Howard (Mary), daughter Barbara Moul (David) and son Michael (Judi); 6 grandsons - Zachary Nuhn (Katlyn), Dylan Nuhn (Angelina), Adam Nuhn, Eric Moul (Allison), Casey Moul (Carlee), Patrick Moul; a brother Joe (Janice), nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his brother Bill. Norma M. Snow, 98, was called home to be with the lord on Tuesday August 22, 2023. She was a lifetime resident of Central New York where she met her soul mate of 55 years, Lisle A. Snow who predeceased her in 1999. She was the last of the greatest generation of the entire family, predeceased by all her and her husband's siblings and spouses as well as two of her own grandchildren, Steven Snow and Debbie Smith (Wesley Smith of Clyde NY). She is survived by her two loving children, Ellen Knight of Lyons NY and Lisle Snow (Debbie) of Newark NY. Grandchildren: Karen Olson (Rueben) of Amherst NH, Kimberly Snow (Chad Loperfido) of Memphis NY, Andrew Whitcomb (Angie) of Westfield NY and Amber Snow of Memphis NY. She had 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren with another great-great grand baby to be born any day. She will surely be missed by her corky cat-Boo. Norma had a strong relationship with her faith and although attended various churches throughout her life, she was a member of the Jordan United Methodist Church for 50+ years. Her hobbies included spending time with her family, sewing, quilting, reading, playing cards, gardening, and camping. She and the love of her life built 4 homes together over their lifetime and she enjoyed being his "co-pilot" of his ever-loving hobby of building and flying model airplanes. She touched the heart of everyone she met and will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be at Bush Funeral Home 120 E. Main St. (Rt. 5) Elbridge NY at 11am Monday August 28th with a Graveside service immediately following at Maple Grove Cemetery. With profound sadness we announce the passing of Aileen Eldredge, our loving mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on August 11, 2023. She was 95 years old. Born in her family's farm home to Hervey and Flossie Chapman, mom graduated with the Skaneateles High School class of 1946 and remained a life-long resident of Skaneateles. She was married to the love of her life Karl for 72 years and missed him every day of her remaining time on earth. She was devoted to her children Linda Kankoski (Jim), Dick Eldredge (Cindy), and Brenda (Ralph Banks), and loving "Nan" to her 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Mom worked at many places after her children were grown; Taylor's paint store, the Fennell Street Handbag Factory and also sold Avon products. She was an accomplished painter, sang with the Sweet Adelines and the St. Andrews Methodist Church choir where she was an active member. Mom made beautifully decorated cakes for every birthday and wedding for her many family members and friends. She spent many hours at her kitchen table playing games and cards with her grandkids and great grandkids and loved walking the beaches in Delaware and Florida collecting shells, which she proudly displayed in the home our dad built. She will be greatly missed but we know that Mom and Dad are now dancing together in Heaven. Services will be private with burial in Mottville Cemetery.
