Margaret Ann "Maggie" Priest, age 61, of West Deptford, NJ passed away on Monday, October 30th, 2023 at Inspira Medical Center of Mullica Hill, NJ. Born March 24th, 1962, Maggie grew up in West Deptford, NJ, graduating Valedictorian from West Deptford High School in 1980. Next, Maggie attended Virginia Tech, where she studied Biochemistry, and was a member of the Marching Virginians, where she met her husband, Bob. Maggie worked as a Biochemist for 15 years before deciding to devote her energy to raising her two sons, James and Mathew. While her loved ones meant more to her than anything, Maggie's second greatest love was handcrafts; she used her passion to fill the homes of those she loved with the beautiful results of her labors. Knitting, crochet, needlepoint, embroidery, clothes making, sewing, painting, silverwork, and above all else, quilting, were amongst the many handcrafts Maggie loved. Maggie’s constant companion, her orange tabby Honey, often joined Maggie on her crafting adventures, with the two spending hours in Maggie’s quilting studio together. Every quilt gifted was met with tears of joy, as they know the time and love that went into its construction. Maggie openly shared her tricks of the trade with anyone who asked, and as a result her love for the craft will live on through them. Maggie was predeceased by her husband and best friend, Charles Robert Priest, Jr. , and her brother Thomas Edward Munns. Maggie leaves behind James Robert Priest and Elizabeth Ivory of Minneapolis, MN. , and Mathew Mason Priest of West Deptford, NJ. Maggie is also survived by her brother Joseph William Munns (Judy), her sister-in-law Lisa Morrison (Lew), her sister-in-law Sharon Munns, her cherished nieces and nephews, and her cat Honey. The family will receive visitors Saturday, November 4th at 9:30 am at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ, with the funeral service to start at 11 am.
