Russell "Paul" Gress, 91, of McConnellsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at his residence. Paul was born in Todd township, PA on July 12, 1927, the son of the late Lena B. (DeShong) Gress McClain and W. Russell Gress. He was the widower of Ada L. (Lake) Gress whom he married on December 22, 1951 and she passed away on November 9, 2018. Mr. Gress served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, PA and worked construction for most of his life. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming with his son Tim. He is survived by daughter Nancy L. Gress, granddaughter Tammy R. Moody and great granddaughter Jaycie Moody all of McConnellsburg, PA. Paul was preceded in death by son Tim R. Gress, step-father George A. McClain and brother George C. Gress. Religious Service at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 26th, 2019 with Pastor William Swope officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment at Asbury United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, PA.
