Ruby Picklesimer Obituary

Ruby Jewel Johnson Picklesimer of Lexington, Kentucky formerly of Pike County passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at her home. She was a school teacher for 35 years, a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a Kentucky Colonel. She was born in Virgie, Kentucky a daughter of the late George Franklin Johnson and Vesta Roberts Johnson. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bales Picklesimer, a daughter, Emily Jo Fedorowski and five brothers, George Franklin Johnson Jr. , Woodrow Wilson Johnson, Owsley Stanley Johnson, Charles "Big" Johnson and Hobert Clay Johnson and two sisters, Marie Anderson and Irene Spence. She is survived by one son, Charles Franklin Picklesimer (Judy) and three grandchildren, Eleanor McCauley, Maggie Picklesimer and Martha Hale (Thomas). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Josson, Isabella, Emmaline and Macklin. Visitation will be after 1:00 p. m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in the J. W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p. m. with Morgan Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Park.
