"Mrs. Ruby White Mayes was born to john Henry and Valma (Craft) White on February 4, 1925, in Florence, MS, both preceded her in death. Mrs. Ruby joined Spring Hill MB Church at an early age: she was a member of Sunday School and the Senior Mission. She attended church faithfully until her health failed. She attended school at Spring Hill School She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. J. W. Mayes, who preceded her death. She retired from the state hospital at Whitfield. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughter Alma Ball and Wilma (Reuben) McLin of Florence, Ms. , Linder Kaye (Henderson) Craig of Pearl, MS; Mary Ann White of Jackson, MS. Three sons: Lee Ervin Kitchen and Eddie (Mable) White of Lima, OH and Alvin Lewis, who preceded her in death. Ruby Mays is preceded in death by five sisters Velma Elizabeth White (infant), Gladys Mayes, Grace Lewis. Essie Mayes, and Mary Mayes. Seven brothers: Johnny White, S. V. White (infant), Willie White, James Henry White, Paul White, Samuel Bullock, and Joe Haywood Rivers. She is also preceded in death by five grandchildren: Angela Kitchens, Roderick White, Beverly Lewis, Veronica Lewis, Jermaine Lewis and one great-grand, Christina McLin (infant). Mrs. Ruby Also leaves to mourn 21 grands, 57 great grands, 25 great great grands, seven step great-great-great grands; and fifteen great-great-great- grands. The family of Mrs Ruby Mayes will be forever grateful for al acts of Kindness shown during this difficult time. We thank you for your kind words, prayers, gifts, and calls. Aubrey Ray Hopkins of Brandon, MS passed away on November 27, 2023. Ray was born on July 21, 1946, and grew up in Shreveport. He was a successful entrepreneur and businessman, with a strong career in the restaurant and seafood industries. Ray was known to many as an avid LSU Tigers fan, frequently seen at LSU sporting events and consistently wore purple and gold with pride. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Aubrey and Margie Hopkins. He is survived by his wife, Grace Hopkins, his children Teddy Hopkins (Janine), Robin Wilson (Dusty), Chris Hopkins (Cindy), Jordan Sutton (Josh), and Daniel King; his grandchildren Madison Elizabeth Hopkins, Thomas McLeod Hopkins, Matthew Hagen McMillon, Braylan Hunter Hopkins, Kylie Michelle Sutton, and Luke Gabriel Sutton as well as his great granddaughters Madilynn Isabelle Doan and McKinley Rose McMillon. He is also survived by five beloved siblings: Elizabeth, Rickie, Diane, Ronald, and Reggie. He will be remembered for his unconditional love and devotion and his selfless dedication of time, talents, and resources to those he loved. His faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was evident as Ray served faithfully at Hillcrest Baptist Church and Center Terrace Baptist Church. " The service for Mr. Hopkins will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Byram, MS, Saturday, December 2, 2023. Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 11:00 a. m. with the service beginning at 11:00 a. m. "Earsell Collier, Sr. was born on October 10, 1938, to the late Harvey \u0026amp; Bertha Collier in Brandon. Mississippi. He attended and graduated from Rankin County Schools. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mountain Ridge Methodist Church in Brandon, Mississippi. After moving to Gulfport, Mississippi, He united with Mercy Seat Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Rogers Tyler Sr, then St Mark United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev Beasley. He was a member of the Trustee Committee and served on various committees. On June 28, 1959 He married the True Love of his life, Carrie Lee Austin and to this union three children were born, Winnell, Earsell, Jr. and Angela. Earsell loved his family and enjoyed family gatherings, especially Holidays and Homecoming gatherings in Brandon, MS. His kind yet strong spirit, wisdom, and love of God allowed him to impact many lives in a loving and positive manner. He was a devoted husband, and friend to many who will cherish him in their hearts forever. His early work career started at Jackson Door \u0026amp; Sash Company in Jackson, MS. He relocated his family to Gulfport, MS in 1970 and became very instrumental in the rebuilding of the MS Gulf Coast after Hurricane Camille by serving as the driver chosen to make brick deliveries all over the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Following in his Father\u0027s footsteps, Earsell inherited that entrepreneurial spirit. After working at Tri-State Brick \u0026amp; Tile for 28 years, he decided to go into the Trucking Business along with Fred Bradley, where Bradley-Collier Trucking Company from 1989-1993. He later opened two transportation companies, Faith \u0026amp; Hope, and L\u0026amp;H Transportation, Inc. He officially retired in 2014. He loved to dine out at the casinos with Family and Friends. Earsell was preceded in death by his beloved wife (Lee); siblings, Harvey John Collier, Earnest J. Collier, Pastor Jerry Collier, Lonnie Collier, Velma Lock, Harvey Lee Lofton and Eva Mae Mangum; and two sons, Rayfield Washington and Earsell Collier, Jr. He leaves to cherish his loving memories three daughters, Marion Vaughn of Jackson, MS; Winnell (Earl) Lovette and Angela Collier of Gulfport, MS. Grandchildren, Bobby Sherrod Washington (Jennifer), Terrell Vaughn, Mitchell Donnell Dawson, Jr. , Ashley Ledora Washington, Carrie Michelle Dawson and Hassen Hillary Dorsey; 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh at 219 Sylvarena Ave, Raleigh, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at 11:00AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh in Raleigh, Mississippi. Burial will follow in North Raleigh Cemetery in Raleigh, MS. After he retired from the State of Mississippi, he spent his time working on many projects, collecting antique cars, and loved making deals. Most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Wyatt; mother, Josie Horn Wyatt; brothers, Joe Marcus Wyatt, Bob Wyatt and Neal Wyatt.
