On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom, mercy, and grace, closed the eyes of our beloved Ronald Prichard and he entered into his eternal rest with the Lord. Ronald Prichard, age 67, son of Arnersey Prichard Frazier was born on April 25, 1956, in Havelock, NC. He was the oldest of seven children. Ronald lived in Havelock, NC for the first nine years of his life. He then moved to Red Bank, NJ where he was educated in the Red Bank school system. After high school, Ronald served in the Army National Guard. He was employed by Riverview Hospital, Red Bank, NJ. At age 38, Ronald moved to Lakewood, NJ where he lived until his passing. Later in life, Ronald accepted Christ. He became a faithful member of the New Life Christian Center located in Lakewood, NJ. He was devoted to the church and loved studying the Bible. He later became a deacon at the church. Ronald dedicated the remainder of his life serving the community he adored. Ronald would express his joy of being part of the National Guard working for the United States of America. He often expressed his love for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved science fiction books, TV shows, and movies. Ronald also had a passion for music, muscle cars, and playing hours of chess. He was respected and feared by his opponents. Ronald is preceded in death by his daughter, Tesha Lightsey. Ronald' s memories and love will be forever cherished by his sons Ronald (Lisa) Robinson and Curtis Lightsey; his daughter Tyshel Lightsey; grandchildren Zenobia, Tra'von, Da'zon, M'kaylah, Y'nyzaj, Ny'zir, Za'liya, J'Karius, Jordyn, Amaya, Gianna, Alvin, Jamar, Nathaniel, Maia, and Nadiya; sisters J. It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, family member, and your pal "Big Al", Alan Richard Barrett on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at age 77. He had been a resident of Monmouth Beach for 25 years, then West Long Branch, retiring to Barnegat in 2019. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Alan lived a truly fascinating life before settling in Monmouth County, N. J. for more than 40 years where he owned and operated many businesses, most famously Big Al's of the original Long Branch Pier up until the boardwalk fire of 1987. Following the fire, Alan started an all-in-one outdoor advertising business in 1988 called Promotion Rental Service and was proudly known for erecting huge inflatable balloons onto buildings and operating WWII-era carbon searchlights. Prior to opening Big Al's, Alan served five years in the U. S. Air National Guard as a Shore Patrolman prior to getting his undergraduate degree at C. W. Post (Long Island University) and teaching degree at Montclair State College. He was a teacher passionate about giving people opportunities to succeed in their careers. He started the Distributive Education program at North Brunswick Township High School where he was devoted to career-related studies and helping people simultaneously learn in the classroom while receiving on-the-job training. He was a larger than life, one-of-a-kind man who adored his family. Outspoken, affectionate, and hilarious, he never missed an opportunity to make a joke or tell you a story. He was a fast friend to everyone he met, and then a lifelong one. More than anything, Alan was a dedicated family man. He loved traveling the world and cruising with Mary. He was a connoisseur of cuisines and enjoyed every meal to the fullest. Alan is survived by the love of his life, his best friend, and his adoring wife of 40 years, Mary; his daughters, Nicole Petraitis and her husband Jacob, and Jessie Barrett; grandsons Harrison, Max, and Ignatius; his brother, Mitchel Barrett; his sisters and brothers-in-law Robert and Karen Loehr and Linda and John O'Connell; his nieces and nephews Billy, Bobby, Michael, Ryan, Nolan, Hannah, and Shannon, as well as many cousins, extended family, and countless dear friends who he loved. Alan was predeceased by his mother, Betty Barrett, and father Mac. A celebration of life will be held at Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave Long Branch, NJ on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11:00 a. m. to 3:00 p. m. Sean Michael Wasielewski, 56, of Port Monmouth, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. Sean was born on November 29, 1966, in Lakewood, New Jersey, and grew up in Pine Beach and Toms River, New Jersey. Sean met his beloved wife, Bonnie, while attending Rutgers University, where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees. On August 14, 1994, Sean and Bonnie were married and a few days later, started their life together in Muncie, Indiana so he could pursue his Ph. D. at Ball State University. He was presently working as a clinical psychologist for Senior Care Therapy. In 2001, they settled in Middlesex, New Jersey, where they raised their two loving daughters, and ultimately in October 2022, settled in Port Monmouth, New Jersey. In Sean's spare time, he was very active in the comic art world and was fondly known as "Bird" or "Fedres" throughout the comic art community. He was also an avid Miami Dolphins and New York Knicks fan. Recently, Sean enjoyed bird watching and spending time surrounded by nature at Sandy Hook National Park. Most of all, Sean was a loving son, husband, father, uncle, great uncle, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Sean is survived by his adoring parents, Alan John Wasielewski Sr. and Peggy (Conlow) Wasielewski; his beloved and devoted wife of 29 years, Bonnie (Weissenburger) Wasielewski and his loving daughters, Molly and Abigail Wasielewski; his dear brother, Alan John Wasielewski, Jr. and his wife, Dolly; his cherished niece, Nicole Jagger and her husband, Greg, and his treasured great nephews, Luke and Benjamin; and his beloved nephew, Ryan Wasielewski, and his wife, Angela. Janice M. Kerr,78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2023 after a long illness. She was the daughter of Harold Kerr and Thelma Buffa Kerr. She is survived by two sisters, Donna McCarthy and Beverly Foor, two sons and their wives, Andru and Dawn and Gabe and Beth; 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Juliana, Lex and Max and several nieces and nephews. Also, three step-children, Janet Zoda, Bobby Crocker (predeceased) and Tom Crocker and 2 step-grandchildren, Eric Zoda and Kara Jade Crocker. Janice was born in born in Greensboro, North Carolina and grew up in Little Silver, NJ. She was a graduate of Red Bank High School in1963. She also lived in Hollywood, CA for some time with her sons, but mostly raised them in Ocean Township, NJ. She lived in Long Branch, NJ for the past 17 years with her loving partner, Robert Nicholas Crocker, whom she had known for 38 years. Janice had an amazing personality and was an excellent, highly energetic, inventive Activities Director at many nursing homes in NJ. She worked the longest at the old King James Care Center in Atlantic Highlands. She worked last at Manor by the Sea in Ocean Grove before retiring. As a young woman, she entered many beauty and performance contests including Ted Mack Amateur Hour. She acted in General Hospital, was Miss Driftwood, Miss Turkisk Taffy Queen and Miss Tot'em Home Plenty. She would often get up from the table at a restaurant that had a band or piano player and take the mic and sing while walking around the tables. "Oh Johnny" was a favorite and wearing her scarab bracelets. No stage fright! Washington Crossing Inn in Bucks County was one of her favorite places. Our lives were enlightened by knowing Mary Esther who we lovingly called "Mae". She was called to her heavenly home on November 13, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. She fought a brave hard fight to the very end. Mae was born on July 2, 1951, in Greenville, North Carolina to the late Willie & Esther Cox. She moved to Long Branch, NJ at the age of 11. Growing up she enjoyed playing with her siblings and going to the boardwalk. She attended Long Branch High School where she played basketball until her graduation in 1970. After graduation she went on to work for Monmouth Park for over 30 years and for The City of Long Branch for 35 years where she was affectionately known as Ms. Mary the crossing guard. Mae was well known for her softball skills, she played along with her sisters for the Hustlettes & Lady Squad. She enjoyed family gatherings, watching her sports & playing cards. She enjoyed cooking and hosting family events at the "Big House" along with her sister Annie "Sis" Cox. They were truly inseparable. Everyone knew if you saw Mae, you saw Sis. Mae took pride in being a mother and grandmother and oh boy did she love and cherish her daughter & grandkids. She spoiled her grandkids every chance she got. She didn't play about her grandbabies. Mae enjoyed spending time with family and brought her kind spirit into all our lives and will be dearly missed by all that were blessed to know and love her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her Brothers Willie Cox Jr. , Abdur R. Wali Sr. , Noah "Bo" Cox (Benzina), Luther "Richard" Cannon Cox (Lee) and Jimmy Lee. Delphine Matilda Hughes-Clax was born July 5, 1932, in Perth Amboy, NJ from the union of the late Montague and Amanda Hughes. She departed this life on November 9, 2023. She was the fifth child with seven other siblings. She grew up in Cliffwood, NJ and was affectionately called "Dellie" by family and friends. Dellie attended Cliffwood Elementary School and graduated from Matawan High School class of 1952. After graduating, she was employed at Maiden- form garments in Perth Amboy, NJ. Dellie married William A. Clax and from this union three daughters were born, Judith, Rosalind and Lori. Dellie retired from Maiden form and became a child caregiver for her own children and those who needed her service. Dellie was caregiver and nurturer for over 200 children throughout Aberdeen/Monmouth County areas. They ranged from diapers - early school years. She was their beloved "Mrs. Clax. " In the later years she was also joint caregiver for her sister Iry. She was past member of St. Mark Sewing Club, past member of St. Mark Adult Choir, past President of St. Mark Ushers, past St. Mark Class Leader, past member of Monmouth Adjacent Counties Mass Choir. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting for charity, completing circular word puzzles and spending time with her sisters fixing jigsaw puzzles. She is predeceased by her parents Amanda and Montague Hughes, her spouse William A. Clax, her siblings/in-laws Evangeline Curry/Twille, Cedric Hughes/Doris, Iry Williams, and Lillian Hughes and good friends Christine May, Barbara Anderson. Dellie is survived by her children Judith Cabbell, Rosalind Davis, and Lori Clax; two grandsons, David Alexander Cabbell, and Devin Brendan Davis; siblings/in-laws Beateal Gumbs (Earle), Emily Armstrong, James Hughes (Wilma), and Ephraim Hughes, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and good friends Sadie Gumbs, Eleanor Richardson and Edith Moultrie. Florence Ardele Palmer was born January 29, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Edward James and Ada Byrd Tyler. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Allen and her loving husband, Frederick Douglas Palmer. Florence and Frederick resided in the Germantown/ Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. They both were members of the Grace Baptist Church of Germantown under the pastorships of Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Sr. and Rev. Dr. G. Daniel Jones. After her husband's death, Florence would relocate to Seabrook Village, in Tinton Falls, NJ to be closer to her daughter. Florence was a product of the Philadelphia school system graduating from William Penn High School for girls. Florence loved and lived life to the fullest. She worked for over 30 years for the federal government as a supply systems analyst for the Naval Aviation Supply Depot, which is a field requisition, inventory, and stock transfer for all naval aviation; an aviation supply office. This position did require her to go on provisioning trips on occasion. Florence loved to shop and look for good sales, so after retiring she worked part time at Bloomingdales, until it became too difficult for her to stand for prolonged periods. She often laughed with her daughter about how she had to sneak some of her many sale purchases, especially shoes, past her husband. Florence married the love of her life, Frederick, on April 10, 1948, and they were blessed with 66 years of marriage at the time of Frederick's death in 2014. They were truly the wind beneath each other's wings, and they thoroughly enjoyed life together. From this union one child, Linda was born. They loved to travel and were known for their Pinocle Card parties. After retirement they became regulars in Atlantic City and there was definitely a room at the Tropicana with their name on it. One of their favorite trips was to Hawaii, which included stops to San Francisco and Las Vegas. Hosting Thanksgiving dinner each year for her immediate family and Christmas dinner for the extended family was something they enjoyed and looked forward to for many years. Florence loved her family and especially enjoyed seeing and hearing about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their pictures are all over her apartment. She would end every conversation with her daughter by asking about her son-in-law Ron and she would always say, "Tell Ronnie I said Hi. " Florence additionally maintained a very special relationship with her niece Debi, over the years. It was so easy to feel the love from Florence. Florence departed this life on Thursday, November 2, 2023, and while her family will deeply miss her, they will be strengthened by the love, sensitivity and caring she shared with them and find comfort in knowing that to be absent from the body means she is present with the Lord. Florence leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Linda Kornegay, (Ronnie), two grandchildren, Kamal Kornegay, (Dimana), and Suraya Kornegay, two great[1]grandchildren Kalina and Liana Kornegay, a special niece, Debi Allen, special cousins, Marion Ragland and Dee Dee Strohman and a host of cousins, neighbors, and friends. In Loving Memory of Margaret Ann Phillips Gatto Margaret Ann Phillips Gatto, affectionately known as Peggy, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3rd, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, and cherished memories. Born on July 19, 1931, in Montclair, NJ, Peggy was the beloved daughter of Margaret Rose Phillips (nee Branagan) and William E. Phillips Jr. Her father, Bill, was a sales representative for Remington Rand, with Latin America as his territory, allowing Peggy to spend her childhood in the countries she loved dearly, Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama, experiences she cherished until her final days. After her family's return to the US, Peggy graduated high school, got married, and started her own family. In 1960 Peggy and her family relocated to Sea Bright, a place that captured her heart instantly. She dedicated herself to the community, working in the municipal offices and actively participating in the Ladies Auxiliary and Sea Bright Seniors. Peggy was a true Sea Bright Original, making her mark in the town's history. Throughout her life, Peggy excelled as an intelligent and successful career woman. She worked for the town of Sea Bright, had a thriving career as a Jersey Shore realtor, and retired only five years ago from the City of Long Branch as Court Clerk. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel and explore places like Costa Rica, Panama, and Florida, where she created countless cherished memories. Peggy had a remarkable sense of humor, even when it came to laughing at herself, and an enormous heart for cats, supporting strays in any way she could. She was predeceased by her adored parents, Peg and Bill Phillips, and is survived by her daughter, Margaret Gatto Senn, her grandchildren Gioia Herrmann (Matt) and Talia Robinson Coles (Sean), and four beautiful great-grandchildren. Peggy will be deeply missed by her dear friend Jane Smack, who provided mutual support, especially during the challenging times after Superstorm Sandy. A memorial service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held at Fiore Funeral Home 882 Broadway, West Long Branch, NJ on Friday, November 10, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a prayer 3:00 PM prayer service at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Monmouth County SPCA in Peggy's memory.
