Rubie Clark McKee, 86, of Danville, VA went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. She was born May 29, 1936 in Danville, VA to the late Willie H. Clark and the late Sally Burton Lindsey Clark. Rubie was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was the treasurer of the American Violet Society and of the Lunch Bunch. She was a member of the Senior Adults at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Rubie loved her family dearly and will be missed by her family and friends. Mrs. McKee is survived by her son, Charles Thomason and wife Kathie; grandchildren, Charles David McKee, Jr. , Jayson Neil Thomason, Amy Leigh Thomason, Charla Dee Thomason, Joshua Charles Neil Thomason, Mary Lei Applegate; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and her special niece, Mary Tate. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, David Lee McKee; and brothers, Howard Clark and Lindsey Clark. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p. m. , Friday, June 24, 2022 at Norris Funeral Services, 3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540 with Pastor Bob Yeaman and Pastor Walter Yancey officiating. A visitation will take place prior to the funeral from 12:30 p. m. to 1:45 p. m. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
