Royce Simons Obituary

Royce D Simons, 75, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. A viewing will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 6-8 p. m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 2:30 pm at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Royce was born on October 30, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Dude and Earline Simons. He graduated from Haltom High School, where he played the trumpet in the band. Royce worked in retail and in loss prevention for over 20 years, until his retirement. Royce was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was known for his infectious laugh, loving and forgiving nature, and his ability to treat everyone like family. He was an avid fisherman, artist, and softball player. Despite living with polio, and the loss of use of his right arm; he was able to pitch and catch any returning ball with ease, no matter how fast. Royce is preceded in death by his father, Dude Simons; sister, Brenda; and faithful dog Lucky. He is survived by his wife, Rowena Simons; mother, Earline Simons; brother, Philip Simons and wife, Rosie; son, Darin Simons; daughter, Dawn Simons and wife, Cindy Perez; son, Gabriel Simons and wife, Brandee; and son Daniel Simons. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
