Roy Thompson Obituary

Leroy, "Roy" Thompson, 79, of Bedford Hills, NY died Saturday, October 7 2023 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx after a lengthy battle of lung cancer. He was a resident of Bedford Hills since 1976. Roy was born on November 16 , 1943 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY to the late Clarence Thompson and Grace Thompson-Ahrlich (nee Vetter). He worked for the Town of New Castle Highway department for 47 years. He was a longtime member of the Bedford Hills Fire Department and before that a member of the Bristol Fire Department in Chappaqua. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Mt. Kisco. Roy was married to Vera (nee Gluck) on February 14 , 1976 at St. Mathias in Bedford Hills. He is survived by his wife Vera, his daughter Teresa Rivers (Chris)of Hudson, NY, Robert of Bedford Hills, NY and his sister Shirley (Richard) of Staatsburg, NY. He is predeceased by his parents Clarence and Grace and his brothers Allen, Robert and Ronnie. Services will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woodbridge Rd. , Katonah, NY on Tuesday, October 10 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
