Roy Dean Foster began his last great adventure on October 4 at home in Briar. He was born in Fort Worth on October 20, 1948, to LeeRoy Foster and Rebecca Oldham. Dean joined the Marine Corps at age 17 and proudly served is country in Vietnam. After growing up on a plumbing truck, Dean wore many hats throughout his career. He was an inspector and machinist at Stratoflex in River Oaks. He ran miles of pipe and pushed many jobs for the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 146. Dean started his employment at Bell Helicopter as an oiler but became the first UAW Health & Safety Representative at Bell under the tutelage of his friend and mentor, Frank Rapp. In May 1999, Dean was recruited as the OSHA Labor Liaison of Region 4, U. S. Dept. of Labor in Dallas. The National Safety Council was one of the many organizations he served. He made lasting friendships throughout his career. Dean was an active member of several Masonic fraternities and organizations and proudly served and represented them to the best of his abilities. Dean is survived by Judy, his wife of 51 years; his daughters Deanna Baxter of California, Laura Foster of Azle, and Jessica Rainone and husband Nick of Fort Worth. His is also survived by granddaughters Leila and Katelyn and great granddaughter Lexi; sister Priscilla, and many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, aunts and uncles. Dean will be remembered and missed by his many friends throughout the country. Services:Visitation on Monday, October 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Biggers Funeral Home in Lake Worth. Funeral at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 10 in the Biggers Chapel, with interment following the service at Azleland Cemetery.
