Rosemary S. Phillips, a longtime Sleepy Hollow resident, died Friday, April 21, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. She was 89. Mrs. Phillips was born in New York City on January 29, 1934, to Joseph and Marie Gregoire Sheridan, and raised in Scarsdale. She graduated from Scarsdale High School in 1952. Mrs. Phillips studied at Skidmore College before transferring to Northwestern University, where she earned a degree in mathematics in 1956. After college, she worked in data processing for American Airlines in New York and State Street Bank in Boston. She also worked in marketing for Doubleday Publishers in New York. In January 1964, she married Paul Phillips in Scarsdale. Mrs. Phillips was an avid painter, crafting portraits and scenes of the Hudson River. She also enjoyed gardening and was a Philipse Manor Garden Club member for many years. She was a parishioner at the Church of the Magdalene in Pocantico Hills. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband Paul, of Tarrytown, her son, Charlie Phillips (Chris) of Braintree, Massachusetts, two daughters, Kathy Phillips O'Connor (Rob) of Rye, and Susan Phillips of Arlington, Virginia, as well as seven grandchildren: Jessica, Kaley, Rachel, Will, Danny, Jack, and Maggie. She is also survived by three nieces, Susan Gorsuch-Metivier, Sandra Gorsuch-Plummer, and Kathleen Russell, and one nephew, Kenneth Sheridan. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Sheridan Gorsuch, her brother, Gregory Sheridan, and two nieces, Shawn Gorsuch-Perry and Sharon Gorsuch Hoy. A wake will be held at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown on Monday from 4-7 p. m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Magdalene on Tuesday at 10 a. m. , followed by a private burial at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
