"Roseanne Marie Nagel, age 87, of Rensselaer, Indiana passed away at her home on May 7, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born on December 21, 1935, to the late Philip and Laura (Vallier) Valade. Roseanne graduated from Rensselaer Central High School in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence Anthony (Tony) Nagel on October 15, 1955, and he survives. Together, they were blessed with seven children: Teresa (Bruce) Muir of Troy, Ohio, Janie (Jim) Pohlman of Sidney, Ohio, Betsy (Mark) Gersten of Copley, Ohio, Chris (Cindi) Nagel of Wheatfield, Indiana, Caroline (Dan) Guenther of Naperville, Illinois, Heidi (Mark) Jordan of Rensselaer, Indiana, and Gretchen (Chris) Keeslar of Brownsburg, Indiana. Roseanne is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Beth (Scott) Muir-Kaster, Michelle (Kyle) Muir, Andy (Shireema) Pohlman, Amy Gersten, Nathan Nagel, Jessica Nagel, Patrick Guenther, Erin (Andrew) Milkey, Parker Jordan, Taylor Jordan, Abby Jordan, Michael (Catie) Keeslar, Karl Keeslar, and Ryan Keeslar. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Muir, Aubrey Muir, Monaco Pohlman, Parker Milkey, Jordan Keeslar, and Eli Keeslar, and brother, Fred (Penny) Valade of Farmington, New Mexico, sisters-in-law, Fran Valade of Rensselaer, Indiana and Pat Valade of Wheatfield, Indiana. Roseanne was a life-long member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, where she was active in the Christian Women's Group, was a rosary leader, and helped with the annual bazaar. She enjoyed line dancing with the Rensselaer Senior Center "girls" and volunteered at the food pantry, hospital auxiliary, and hospice. Roseanne was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, and sewing. She loved music and singing, and she was an avid reader. In her early years she was proud to be a bookkeeper in the family business. She loved children and after raising her own enjoyed helping as a preschool aide. Her positive and caring nature blessed many and she will be dearly missed. Roseanne was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Laura, and her brother, Bill Valade. Friends may call on the family at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM CT, with a rosary service at 6:30 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 11:00 AM CT with Father Joshua Bennett officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Rensselaer. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Augustine Catholic Church to support ongoing beautification of the outside Virgin Mary grotto area. "
