Rose (Rosita) Walker Ryan On April 21, 2023, at the age of 78, the world lost Rose Walker Ryan, one of its maternal forces of nature and most fun-loving of humans. With her work here done, this music lover and faithful servant of God, joined her dearly departed loved ones. Rose faced pancreatic cancer the way she lived--as our Mother Hen, with a steel-trap memory, a wicked wit, and impeccable hairdo and nails. Born and raised in the Pontiac by the late Remi and Rose Walker, Rose moved to Ottawa, met the love of her life, Bill "Grindy" Ryan,and raised a family in Newfoundland, Peterborough, and Ottawa. Her superb memory and quick mind led to a successful career in the federal government. Above all, Rose cherished family gatherings, laughing, and singing along to kitchen party music. Predeceased by her brother Jimmy (Suzanne), "Erz" will be dearly missed by her siblings Eddie (Jane), Wally, Cecil (Clara), Kenneth (late Doreen), Barbara (Laurie), Ray (late Mary), Shirley (Billy), Gilbert (Mary Ann), Marilyn (late Paul), and David (Mary). A true friend and devoted mother to her 'wildies' Dale (Christine), Lisa, Tracey (Glenn), and Jimmy (Sophal). Rose always insisted, "peace in the family", and was exceptionally proud of her grandchildren Tyler, Alyssa, Liam, Ryan, Emma, Zacharie, Aquilina and Leo. Long live the unconditional love Rose bestowed upon us. A Mass and private interment of her ashes will take place at St. Paul the Hermit Church, Sheenboro Quebec, 11 a. m. Friday, April 28. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at the Almonte Legion, Sunday May 7, 1-5 pm.
