Rose V. (Moscicki) Jacques, 90 of Batavia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 29, 2023 at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. She was born in Batavia on December 2nd, 1932 to the late Bronislaus and Victoria (Twardowski) Moscicki. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Milton W. Jacques; her brothers, Alfred (Mary) Moscicki, Raymond (Dorothy) Moscicki, Joseph (Lillian) Moscicki, Edward (Esther) Moscicki and Henry (Rosalyn) Moscicki; her sisters Genevieve (James) Walker, Irene Michalak, Antoinette (Leo) Feary and Gladys (Walter) Konieczka; infant grandson, John D. Hale Jr. Rose was a 1950 graduate of Batavia High School. She took pride in being a homemaker for most of her life. She did work for short periods of time at Kodak, Kisiel Die Casting and at Batavia Downs in the Kiddy Stand". She was a member of Ascension Parish, formerly Sacred Heart Church, her entire life. She waitressed with her dear sister Genevieve "Bubbles" for church hall functions, parties and weddings for many years. Rose was very proud of her Polish heritage, polka music and cooking Polish dishes. She enjoyed painting and making an assortment of crafts with her husband. She loved to be out in her yard gardening, tending to her beautiful flowers and playing bingo. Mrs. Jacques is survived by her children; Robert (Barbara) Jacques, Donna (Lisa Blandi) Jacques, Cathy (Ritchie Tibbs) Jacques, Daniel (Victoria) Jacques and Victoria (Rob Geandreau) Jacques. Grandchildren; Allyssia, Kimberly, Angela, Brandon, Megan and Marissa. Great grandchildren; Alexa, Lucas, Rachel, Cameron, Brennan, Brayden, Dylan and Elynde. Sister in laws, Mary Jacques Crothers, Shirley Picanso of Massachusetts, along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to all the extraordinary staff at the New York State Veterans Home for the wonderful loving care Rose received in the short time she resided there. He is predeceased by his parents Paul and Betty Baumgarte, his wife Beverly, and sons Kevin and Brian. He was born on July 22, 1946, in Lima, Ohio and worked as a nuclear technician for Consolidated Edison. He enjoyed working on computers, traveling and meeting new people. On December 7th, 2023, Helen A. Moore, 94, formerly of Oakfield, Byron, and Batavia, New York, passed away at LeRoy Village Green Rehab & Nursing Home, leaving behind her loving family. Helen was born June 12th, 1929, in Washington Township, Pennsylvania to Maxwell Fulmer and Mary A. Bell. On September 7th, 1946, she married the love of her life, the late James F. Moore, Sr. They had three beautiful children, James F. (Penny) Moore, Jr. of Appleton, the late Kenneth J. (Cheryl) Moore of Elba, and Helen L. (late Howard) Austin of Batavia. Gram/Old Gram was very proud of her six grandchildren, Tammy (Michael) Boudreau, James (Amy) Moore III, Jeffery (Carri) Austin, Michael Austin, Jason (Kimberly) Austin, and Kimberly (Frank) Cuttitta; twelve great-grandchildren, Haley, Kylie and Mackenzie Moore, Tyler and Gracie Boudreau, Cameron, Ava, Brycen, Abigail, Allison, Brynn and Liam Austin, and Lucus Cuttitta; and great-great grandson Mason Arevalo. Helen's brother-in-law, Edward Kastelic, Sr. ("Uncle Ed") was her Yankees buddy. Helen is survived by many nieces and nephews. Helen dearly loved her late dog, Killer. Besides her parents, Helen is predeceased by her husband, James F. Moore Sr. ; son, Kenneth J. Moore; son-in-law, Howard Austin; brother, Dean (Edith) Fulmer; brothers-in-law, William (Imogene), Jack (Judy), John Moore; sisters-in-law, Minnie, Mae, and Ruth Moore, Carrie (Wilber) Helman, Dorothy Davis, Betty Kastelic, and Jean (Ron) Gibson; and good friends, Aggie McKenrick and Ethel Tanner. Mom worked at many places in her life, such as weeding onions and picking potatoes on the mucklands of Elba, the canning factory in Oakfield, and Sylvania in Batavia. But most of all, she did the most important job of being our mom. We always had food on the table, clean clothes, and a tutor for us in the evenings as she did our homework. She was a caring mom and grandmother. Nothing made her happier than holidays and family gatherings. Upon retirement, her and Dad traveled the country, visiting Hawaii, Texas, Las Vegas, California, Mexico, and Canada. They loved spending winters in Silver Springs, Florida. They fit right into retirement life there, making hundreds of friends. She was a member of American Legion Post 626 Auxiliary, IOOB's Oakfield Chapter, and held many offices. Mom liked to play golf and bowl (even though she was not too good at it), enjoying being out with the gang. She also managed the impressive feat of still driving at 94 years of age! Betty "BJ" Rung 74, originally of Batavia NY, passed away December 4th, 2023. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Elliott Rung, and also siblings Diane Iacopelli and Mary Lou Rung. She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever be treasured by her surviving loved ones, including her daughter, Cheryl Hardenbrook, son in law, Skyler Hardenbrook. Helen Smith Addie, 74, of Batavia, NY, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023. She was born August 30, 1949, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late James and Edna (Darnell) Smith. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Benjamin Addie. Helen loved to teach others and was a beloved mother and grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed writing, gardening, and baking. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Brandon Addie (Sophie), Sean Addie (Siobhan), and Cullen Addie (Courteney); grandchildren, Kaden, McKenna, Fiona, Seamus, Kaliya, and Jamari Addie; siblings, Terry Smith (Lynda), Maxine Smith-Dawson (Dennis), and Tina Smith. Sharon Breton (79) went to her forever home with the Lord on November 29, 2023. Sharon was born on May 14, 1944 to Jane and Jim Murphy. She is predeceased by her parents; brother James; sister Kathy and son Rusty. She is survived by her 2 sisters, Patty (late Michael) Smukall, and Anita Brown, her children Annette Stephens, Susan Feldman, James (Marla) Breton, Jason (Stephanie) Breton, daughter in-law Judy (late Rusty) Breton, 13 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Sharon had a heart of gold which was shown through her many acts of volunteering, including the Salvation Army, Buffalo City Mission, National Disaster Relief, and the Food Link. She was very involved in the Alexander community where she taught for 27 years, and was the co-founder of the Alexander Christmas in the Village. There were many things in life that brought Sharon joy. She loved her church family, the beautiful colors of the fall season, making cards for friends and family, doing puzzles during the winter and her many friends. Her family and grandchildren brought her the most joy. She was happiest spending time with her grandchildren, whether at a sporting event, band concert, cousins game night, or just random visits at her house. Sharon was a wonderful woman who will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Batavia - Scott F Hall, 70 of Batavia, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, New York. Scott was born Friday, April 10, 1953, in Batavia, New York, a son of the late William D. and Dorothy (Foster) Hall. Scott was married to the love of his life, Judith (Bolles) Hall, for 35 years, and together they raised three wonderful children. Always wearing blue jeans, he enjoyed fishing, gardening his tomatoes, spending time with friends and family, Disney, cheering on the Yankees, and golfing at Terry Hills Golf Course, where he had been a formidable member of the Thursday Night League for each of the past six decades. Coaching his boys with his daughter was one of the greatest joys of his life. His professional career included 20 years as a produce manager and 20 years as a night manager at Lowe's. Scott is survived by his sons, David Hall and Philip Hall of Batavia; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Matthew Harris; son-in-law Jason Harris of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Ronald (Shellye) Hall of Albion; a sister, Wende (Late Sidney R. ) London of Medina; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Courtney Cavallario, age 42. She passed away on November 12, 2023. Courtney was born on January 25, 1981 in Amherst, New York to Edward and Denise Strassel. Courtney's calling was to help others and chose a career in nursing as an Oncology Nurse in the Roswell Cancer Center Intermediate Intensive Care Unit. Courtney married Timothy Bisher in 2006 and had 3 children, Luke, Aubrey and Travis. She married Joseph Cavallario on February 23, 2020 and became a beautiful blended and loving family with children Bella and Leah Cavallario. Courtney was a devoted mother and cherished her time going on adventures with her children. She loved visiting Disney World, going to amusement parks, and taking vacations with her family. In her free time, Courtney was an avid runner and recently completed her first half-marathon, the Niagara Falls Half. A true Bills fan, she enjoyed cheering for the Buffalo Bills each week and never missed watching a game. She was known for her generosity and the strong ability to care for others. She was an animal lover and adored her 3 dogs Cooper, Odie and Naya. Courtney is survived by her spouse, Joesph Cavallario, children Luke Bisher (17), Aubrey Bisher (16), Travis Bisher (14), stepchildren Bella Cavallario (17) and Leah Cavallario (14), parents Ed and Denise Strassel, sibling Aimee Ertel and ex-husband, Timothy Bisher. Marguerite James Breckenridge, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor passed from this life on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the age of 97. She was born on December 7, 1925 to the late Thomas S. James and Lucille James of Batavia. Marguerite was married to Robert J. Breckenridge of Bethany, NY, where they had a dairy farm. After retirement, the couple moved to Sarasota, FL and raised beef cattle. Later they located to Wylie, TX and then Keller, TX, then finally relocated back to Bethany. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert J, Breckenridge, sons, Thomas R. Breckenridge and Robert W. Breckenridge and a granddaughter, Heather D. Smith. As always, Marguerite was a loving companion and devoted wife through their marriage of 63 years. She was a caring, guiding and adoring mother to Lynda (Mauro) Gaetano of Austin, TX and Stephen (Joanne) Breckenridge of Bethany. She leaves four granddaughters, Jennifer (Shawn) Covert of LeRoy,NY, Bernadette (Larry) DeLaGarza of Austin, TX, Kristen (Joseph) Magyar of Newburgh,NY, Kimberly (Timothy) D'Amico of Batavia, NY, and a step-grandson, David (Katrinia) Gaetano of Atlanta, GA. She is survived by nine great grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Covert, Santiago and Gabriella DeLaGarza, Isabella, Lukas and Vivian Magyar, Macey D'Amico and Adriana Gaetano, who all made her proud. In her younger years, she was employed by the First National Bank in Batavia, CL Carr's, Chapin Manufacturing and a Nurse's Aide at St. Jerome's Hospital following World War II as a Gray Lady, which was an extension of the American Red Cross. She was active in the Batavia Business & Professional Women's Club, and an active member for many years in the Cerebral Palsy of NYS organization as well as Home Bureau. She also was a member of the First Baptist Church of Batavia. Marguerite was a strong, resilient and thoughtful person who was a talented homemaker, cook and baker. As the wife of a farmer, she would attend cattle auctions and purchase cows for the dairy herd, help with milking or delivering calves later in the day. During the Blizzard of '77 she opened her home providing meals and lodging to stranded motorists on Route 20. Marguerite leaves a great void in the hearts of those close to her. She will be dearly missed though memories and the love she shared will live on among family, friends and those whose life she touched. Her family would like to extend a sincere thank you to her nurse, Patti Cunningham, and health care aides, Shirley Farley, Mary Merle, and Linda Jackett, as well as friends, Diane Hall, Darleen Peters, Linda Sanders, Kris Kujawski, and Sunshine. Predeceased by beloved wife, Helen, to whom he was married for 66 years, parents Carl and Emma Freitag, brother-in-law Olaf Gates and son-in-law Richard Zschoche. Survived by daughters, Melissa Zschoche and Martha (Jeffery) Lansberry; grandchildren, Mark (Sara) Zschoche and Juliana (Donnie) Chamless; sister-in-law Elizabeth Gates; nephews Carl and Duane Gates and niece Donna Gates. Douglas was a retired accountant who worked for many years at Chapin Manufacturing, U of R, and Bausch and Lomb. Winston G. Pottle, Jr. passed away at Crossroads House on Saturday, October 28 surrounded by friends and caregivers. He was born December 7, 1944 of Winston and Enid Pottle in Batavia NY, where he lived his entire life. Winston worked at the Sylvania plant until it closed and then at Eastman Kodak, where he retired. He is survived by a cousin, Deborah Williams of Honeoye Falls.
