DUDLEY – Rose E. Gemme, 84, died peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 17 years, David O. Gemme who died in 2011. She is survived by six children, Wayne E. Johnson and his wife Michele of Dudley, Patricia R. Cline and her husband Mike of Burlington, IA, Lana E. Hudon and her husband Ronald of Oxford, April V. McInnis and her husband Bret of Lake City, FL, Rachel E. Danelius and her husband John of Sutton, and John D. Gemme and his wife Tammy of Burlington, IA; three brothers, Albert Legere, Marcel Legere, and Gene Legere; a sister, Janet Binns; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Edward Johnson; two brothers, Paul Legere and Henry Legere; and two sisters, Lila Castonguay and Lorraine Anderson. She was born in New Castle, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Marcel and Evelyn (Daly) Legere. Mrs. Gemme loved all animals, especially cats. She had a passion for horses and miniature horses, which she enjoyed training and showing throughout her life. Most important in her life was spending time with her family. Services will be held privately. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements. Kenneth S. Jones, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at his home in Oxford, Massachusetts. Born in Norwood, Massachusetts on October 30, 1958, he was the son of the late Frederick A. and Helen Ethel (Schelin) Jones. Ken was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Walpole High School with the Class of 1976. Following his graduation, Ken took a position with the McClean Steel Company in Quincy, running the polishing machine. Ken remained with the company through the Nightingale Metals buyout, setting up shop in Rhode Island, running the polishing machine and the shear. He went on to take a position with Independent Pool Service, providing regular maintenance services, in addition to opening and closing pools each season. While home base was always Walpole, in more recent years, Ken made his home in Franklin and Oxford. In his younger years, Ken loved seeking adventure, throwing his leg over his Harley Davidson to see where the road may take him. He looked forward to trying his luck at local casinos, finding "his" machine that he hoped would pay out. Sometimes his adventures were a little more subtle, whether finding a new fishing hole or taking a walk with his dog. Most of all, Ken enjoyed spending time with his friends. Devoted son of the late Frederick A. and Helen Ethel (Schelin) Jones. Loving brother of Diane Benenato and her husband, Vincent, of Dedham, Arthur F. Jones and his wife, Valerie, of Norton, and the late Jennifer Parquette and her surviving husband, Barry, of Milford, New Hampshire. Cherished uncle of Vinnie, Bobby, Christopher, Kristin, Kevin, Kimberly, and Bradley. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Kenneth's Life Celebration on Monday, November 27th, 2023, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the James H. WEBSTER – Marylou Austin Bowse, 68, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Reverend Bernard P. Bowse. Marylou was born in Stamford, CT, the daughter of the late J. Norman and Kaye Austin. She is survived by her 5 children; Ron Bowse of Southbridge, MA, Justin Bowse (Kelsey) of Rochester, MI, Peter Behbahani (Ladan) of Chicago, Il, Katie Bowse (Justin) of Melbourne, FL, and Emily Bowse of Southbridge; 4 grandchildren: Kyomi, Satomi, Rie, and Selah; her brother, Hedley Austin (Debbie) of Chesapeake, VA; her nephew, Jon Austin (Kari) of San Diego, CA; and hundreds of dear cousins and friends throughout the United States and Canada. Marylou graduated from Natick High School in 1973. She received her B. A. in Theology from Berkshire Christian College in 1977 and her M. A. in Counseling Psychology from Anna Maria College in 2006. She and her family served in the U. S. Air Force around the world, adopting 2 of their 5 children, and became part of the Advent Christian Ministry. CHARLTON – Barbara Ann (Beland) Faford, 79, of Blood Road, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in her home with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul M. Faford of Charlton; three children, Christine Bourgeois and her husband Mark of Tyngsboro, Michael Faford and his wife Carol of Charlton, and Rebecca Faford and her fiancé William Suchomel of Dudley; two sisters, Lorraine Berthiaume of Kentucky, and Linda Faford and her husband Peter of Charlton; ten grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Michele E. St. George who died in 2019; two sisters, Joan Hicks and Theresa Robichaud; and two brothers, Joseph Beland and Harry Beland. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Alphonse H. and Gladys (Stapleton) Beland, and was raised in Worcester before living most of her life in Charlton. She graduated from Ascension High School in Worcester in 1962. Mrs. Faford dedicated herself to the nurturing of her home and family during the formative years of her children. A paramount joy in her life was the cherished moments spent with her beloved grandchildren. Among her passions were tackling crossword puzzles, savoring the timeless tunes of Elvis, indulging in the thrill of cruises, and exploring new destinations alongside her husband. A fervent supporter, she was an avid Red Sox fan. Mrs. Faford's unwavering commitment extended to her active involvement in the St. Joseph's Church community in Charlton, where she dedicated many years of her life. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a. m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd Ext. , Charlton. CHARLTON – Elizabeth M. (Seale) Stevens, 94, of A. F. Putnam Road, died on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Life Care Center of Auburn, after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Herbert C. Stevens of Charlton who died in 2015. She is survived by two children, Daniel S. Stevens of Charlton, and Janice A. Pena and her husband Juan "Carlos" of Southbridge; her brother, David R. Seale and his wife Patricia of Hernando, FL; two sisters, Joan Carlson of Middlesex, VT, and Anna L. Donahue of Attleboro; three granddaughters, Ashley C. Bastien and her husband Mark of Ellington, CT, Chandler S. Goodhue and her husband Cole of Enosburg Falls, VT, and Madison M. Stevens of South Boston; and two great-grandsons, Brody R. Knight and Thomas P. Bastien, both of Ellington, CT. She was predeceased by a son, Nathan S. Stevens who died in 1967; and a brother, William B. Seale. She was born in Dedham, daughter of the late Ralph and Bertha L. (Ekberg) Seale, and lived in Dedham before moving to Charlton in 1962. She graduated from Dedham High School. Mrs. Stevens worked at Southbridge Savings Bank in Charlton for many years, retiring as assistant branch manager in 1992. Previously she worked for Norfolk and Dedham Insurance Company in Dedham for many years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Oxford, and was an active participant at the church over the years. She was a former member of the Finance Committee in Charlton. Mrs. Stevens enjoyed cooking, baking, visiting relatives, and caring for her grandchildren. She believed that family was everything and there was always room at the table for one more. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p. m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 270 Main St. , Oxford. Plante of Murrells Inlet, SC; his paternal grandmother, Sally A. (Davis) Plante of Charlton; his paternal grandfather, Donald R. ("Joe") Plante (deceased); his maternal grandfather, Allison K. Munro of Garden City, NY; his maternal grandmother Evelyn E. Munro (deceased); uncles and aunts, Thomas W. Plante of West Palm Beach, FL, Deborah E. Peck and her husband Richard of Mount Pleasant, SC, Carolyn V. Redmond and her husband Frank of Charlotte, NC, Linda E. Apuzzo and her husband John of New Paltz, NY, and Allison K. Munro and his wife Debra of Seaford, NY; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was born in Worcester and was a lifelong resident of Charlton. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury in 2013, then attended Florida Atlantic University and the Professional Golf College. Mr. Plante worked numerous years as a pro shop manager and a teaching professional at Heritage Country Club. Previously, he worked at Quaboag Country Club in Monson as The Director of Golf. He enjoyed music, hiking, camping, golf and his boxer, Dutchess. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many, and will be remembered for his warm personality, big smile, and his embracing hugs. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Bryn. She is survived by three children, Kim-Marie Bryn of Dudley, Richard P. Bryn and his wife Debra of Dudley, and Paul J. Bryn of East Providence, RI; her brother, Francis P. Reardon of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren, David Bryn and his wife Alana of Las Vegas, NV, Kristy Wasilewski and her husband Daniel of Apex, NC, Richard Bryn Jr. of Dudley, Steven McCluskey of Millbury, Anthony Bryn of Dudley, and Alyssa Bryn of Dudley; her great-grandson, Noah Wasilewski; her former son-in-law, Timothy McCluskey of Dudley; her longtime close friends, Maurice and Patricia Bisceglia, and Marion Tricomi, all of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Steven M. Bryn who died in 1988; two sisters, Janice M. Lavigne and Paul J. Reardon; and her great-granddaughter, Sophie Mae. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John P. and Shirley E. (Green) Reardon, and lived in Oxford before moving to Dudley 22 years ago. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. Mrs. Bryn was a teaching assistant for Oxford Public Schools for many years prior to retirement. She was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford. She enjoyed going to the beach, baking, and making wonderful desserts for her friends and family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Sharon’s family thanks everyone at Webster Manor for their kindness, friendship, and excellent care of her during her final years. MARLBOROUGH/NEW HARTFORD, CT – Siegfried J. Cronauer, 88, most recently a resident of the Branches in Marlborough, died peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at High Pointe House in Haverhill. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Jean (Higgins) Cronauer who died in 2021. He is survived by two children, Andrew J. Cronauer and his wife Amanda of Dudley, and Emily J. Cronauer of Torrington, CT; three grandchildren, Olivia K. Cronauer, Jeremy J. Cronauer, and Matilda M. Cronauer, all of Dudley; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. He was born in Leimen-Pfalz, Germany, son of the late Stefan and Emilie (Heim) Cronauer, was raised in Germany and spent most of his life in Connecticut. He attended Northeastern University and received his bachelor's degree and M. B. A. from the University of Washington. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Cronauer worked for Stanley Works in New Britian, CT, for 17 years, retiring as Director of International Finance in 1995. He loved singing, playing the trumpet, playing the piano, classical music, and sang with the Connecticut Yankee Chorale in Torrington, CT. He had a passion for nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking, climbing, gardening, planting, and walks in the woods conversing about ideas. He was a well-spoken man who loved philosophy and good conversation. Mr. Cronauer enjoyed swimming and loved good food. He will be remembered as the rock of his family, who loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them German. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a. m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 22 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley. Burial with military honors will follow at West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton.
