Rosemary Mackle
Age - 70
December 9, 2023
Rosemary M. Mackle passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the age of 70. Rose was the beloved wife to James J. Mackle for 50 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughters Erin Naimoli (Mark) and Colleen Mackle (Jeremy Messer) as well as her granddaughter Brittany Naimoli (Eric Herrmann). Born to Lena and Rudolph Saldan on January 10, 1953 into a family with two older brothers, Rudy and Billy. Rose and Jim met when they were in high school and attended each other's sophomore dances and never dated anyone else after. Getting engaged on Christmas after graduating high school. Rose and Jim married on April 14, 1973. Rose played basketball and volleyball in high school and loved sports. She was an avid follower of the Phillies, Eagles and Flyers and you would almost never see her without a shirt or at least a hat for the team during the season and especially on game days. Rose loved being with her family and friends watching the games and yelling at the TV. Rose, when not wearing a team shirt, wore shirts and hats from places she visited like Ireland, Jamaica, Aruba and more or her favorite music groups like Shinedown, Nickelback, Maroon5, Moody Blues and many more. She always wore Red on fridays and socialized in military clubs. If you knew Rose well and saw her often you knew she had no secrets and was very forthcoming. You always knew where you stood. Every year, Rose spent the summer with her granddaughter and family in her New Jersey campground. They together played family games around the table, including Yahtzee, UNO, and Rummy. Rose was quite the professional and, if money was on the line, she'd empty your wallet with grace, smirking while munching on her Wawa ice. She enjoyed sitting by the campfire and sharing stories about the past, but was also one of the greatest listeners - she truly enjoyed hearing about what's going on in others' lives and offered advice and wisdom when called upon. Rose always hosted Christmas dinner, where the family played games after dinner, and presents on Christmas morning in matching pajamas, after a suitable amount of coffee was first consumed. Rose was religious and had strong opinions on religion and politics but only Jim knew those opinions. She would talk sports and music with anyone but religion and politics were very private and she would often stop Jim from getting into arguments. Rose was one of a kind and lit up a room with her infectious laugh and smile. She would talk to anyone, anywhere, always open to meeting new people. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 9:30 AM until her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Anselm Church, 12670 Dunks Ferry Rd. , Philadelphia, PA 19154. Her interment will be held privately by the family. In lieu of sending flowers, contributions in Rose's name may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, T2T. org .Show more
