Livestream (Click Here) Rose Marie BrandtJanuary 27, 1925- October 5, 2023Rose Marie Brandt, age 98, of Unadilla Nebraska, passed away on October 5, 2023, at The Cove House in Lincoln Nebraska. She was born to Kenneth, 'K. C. ' and Ruby (Wallen) Stoner on January 27, 1925, at the Wallen Homestead by the Paisley Bottom. She went to grade school through high school in Unadilla, graduating in 1942. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln Nebraska where she graduated with BA degree in secondary education and a major in business administration in 1946. Upon graduation she taught in Harvard, Nebraska and returned to Unadilla to marry the love of her life, William B. Brandt on August 10, 1947, in the Unadilla Christian Church. After returning to Unadilla, she taught at Unadilla High School and Bill set up his law practice. Rose Marie was an active and busy lady throughout her life. She was a member of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, YWCA, Lincoln Law Wives, volunteer on the Task Force for the Juvenile Court Visitation and Advisory Board, Legislative Ladies League ( past president), Reserve Officers Association of Ladies (past treasurer), and Board of Directors, Countryside Bank and previously the American Bank of Burr and the First National Bank of Unadilla since 1953. She was appointed to the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission for 6 years. She cherished being a lifelong member of the Unadilla Christian Church where she was the church organist for over 80 years. Her grandfather, O. G. Stoner, paid for her piano lessons so she could play for Sunday School, starting at age 10. She was also active in the Women's Circle. She loved her affiliation with Alpha Gamma Delta (Beta Alpha Chapter) Sorority and the many girlfriends she made during her college days. Rose Marie is survived by her 4 children, Bob (Barb) Brandt, Unadilla, NE; Joan (Merl) Harder, Carter Lake, IA; Karen Hassler, Panama City Beach, FL; Jane (John) Weber, Mesa, AZ, and grandchildren, Barry (Carrie) Brandt; Betsy (Mike) Pavelka; Joseph (Erin) Hassler; Kenneth Zeiger; Hannah (Justin) Walden; Sarah (Cris) Heitland; Katie (Riley) Strader; and great-grandchildren, Burton, Barret, and Brody Brandt, Cole and Jack Pavelka, Leo and Elliot Rose Hassler; Kennedy Walden; Maisie and Henry Heitland. She is proceeded in death by parents, K. C. and Ruby Stoner, husband, William, son-in-law, Bruce Hassler, and in-laws, George and Buelah Brandt. Her greatest gift was loving and caring for everyone she met. Her greatest accomplishment were her children, Grand-Children and Great-Grand-Children. All who met her knew what a special lady she was. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 8 from 9:00 a. m. until 8:00 p. m. with the family greeting friends from 4-6 p. m. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, 644 Park Street, Syracuse, NE. Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p. m. on Monday, October 9 at the Unadilla Community Center, with a reception at Mal's Bar and Grill in downtown Unadilla to follow. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page. Memorials may be directed to Unadilla Christian Church or to the Unadilla Community Foundation, which will be divided equally between Unadilla Fire & Rescue, Unadilla Community Library and Unadilla Park & Arboretum.
