William Lloyd Everett, 65, was called to his eternal resting place on January 24, 2024. He was greeted by his parents Patricia & Austin Everett as well as many family and friends. He was a beloved Spouse, Son and Son-In-Law as well as a friend to many. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan 27 . at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2515 W. Hermosa Drive. From noon to 2 pm. It will be a celebration of Lloyd's life with family, friends & co-workers. Casual and come & go. He entered this world on January 25, 1958 in Bishop's Stortford, England, born to Ernest Austin and Patricia Everett. He is survived by his spouse Cindy Everett, his In-Laws Joyce & Trent Jeffrey and his aunt Barbara Clark in England. He traveled to the USA on a military transport with Patricia at the age of 3 months. He attended Artesia High School and college in Odessa, TX. He loved life and had a quirky sense of humor that he shared with all. He could be seen flying his remote controlled plane or drone and other outdoor activities. He was a mentor to some and an example to others. He worked many years in the grocery business at Safeway and then Furr's. He then went to work for Eddy County Detention Center as a transport officer and finally to Artesia Police Dept as a CSO - Community Service Officer.

Salomon R. Franco, 53, of Artesia, New Mexico, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2024 at his home. He was born in Artesia, NM on June 26, 1970, son of the late Willie Sr. and Lorenza Franco, and preceded also by our beloved brother Willie Franco Jr.He is survived by his daughter, Samantha Vargas, his grandchildren Raelyn Gray, Kyrie Gray, and Micah Perez. He is also survived by his 5 siblings, Susan Aragon, Sophy Briseno, Joe and Nancy Franco, Delores and Frank Ramirez, Sonya and Jerry Flores, and numerous nieces and nephews.Salomon graduated from Artesia High school in 1988. He worked the family business with his brothers and father. He became an expert heavy equipment operator to perfection. His work was well-known throughout the Southwest. His favorite football team were the New York Giants. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, target practice, and spending time outdoors with his family and friends.You will be greatly missed by your Brother Joe and Sisters - We Love You, Brother Sunnie will take good care of Montana!"With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! "Red" Morgan at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at First Baptist Church.Mr. Morgan, 88, died on February 7, 2024 in Artesia, New Mexico.Red was born on February 22, 1935, in Cloudcoft to Joseph William"Bill" Morgan and Ruby Alma Barnes Morgan.He attended grade school in Mayhill, high school in Artesia, and later attended New Mexico State University.He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp.He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Aliene, and a step son Jerry Dale.Survivors include his wife Barbara of the family home, brother Darrell of Alamogordo, daughter Shay and husband Eric of Ruidoso, son Cody and wife Kelly of Artesia, and grandchildren Wyatt and Brady.He was a rancher, a carpenter, truck driver, soldier, and all around working man, a son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. Anything he did he was good at.He had a special love for young horses, old dogs, and his grandkids.In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch of Amarillo, Texas, an organization which Red donated to for many years.

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday, February 20 at Terpening & Son Chapel for Tina Thomas of Artesia, New Mexico.Mrs. Thomas, 85, died on February 8, 2024 at her home in Artesia.Billy Jack Robinson will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman , and her daughter Deborah Lynn.Survivors include her daughters Diana (John) Fenton and their children Jeramy (Mary), Jason, Tabitha (James), Brian, Louis, and Daniel (Unique) of California. Melissa Rutledge and her children Brandon (Britney) Nelson and Nathan and Natalie Rutledge of Artesia. Debbies daughter Shawleigh of Oklahoma. Tinas brother James (Kelly) Spurgeon, and her great Aunt Allie Spurgeon. 18 great-grandchildren, several cousins and nephews. Tina was born on July 30, 1938 in Ennis Texas; the daughter of Joseph Spurgeon and Opal McLain Spurgeon. She married Norman Thomas on August 25th 1956 in Lovington, New Mexico. She was an avid gardener and loved to be outside playing with her grandchildren. She was a Psych Unit Tech At A.V. Hospital in California for 20 years. She loved to crochet, sew and do various arts and crafts. She adored her parrot Crackers.

John Paul Ironmonger was born on May 30, 1943 in Pampa, Texas to Jack Ironmonger and Florence Stone Ironmonger and went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2024 in Artesia, New Mexico surrounded by his family.Celebration of Life services will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Faith Baptist Church in Artesia, NM at 10:00 AM. A private burial will be held at Woodbine Cemetery following the service for family and relatives.John married the love of his life, Janice Bragg Harper, in 1963. They moved to Artesia a few years later. He worked at Central Valley Electric hiring on as a lineman and becoming a superintendent. He retired after 36 years.In his earlier years, he served in the US Army and he was a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion.He was a talented drummer, and also enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family.He was preceded in death by his spouse, parents, his sister (Jacqulyn Thompson), sister-in-law (Bobbie Harper) and his son-in-law (William McLurg).Survivors include his son, Byron Ironmonger and wife Liz; his daughters, Stormi Davis and husband Gary, and Misti McLurg; grandchildren, Brandi Ruezga (Albert), Kanda Serrano (Danny), Dustin McLurg (Katy), Brehnan Davis, Lakin Reeder (Jacob); great grandchildren, Sky, Gus, & Tre Ruezga, Aidan & Corban Serrano, Jackson, Carter, & Miles McLurg, and Harper, Jase, & Haven Reeder; brother-in-law, Braxton Harper; niece, Tammy Trujillo and nephew, Robert Thompson.

He is survived by his daughter Michelle Thomas; daughter Lynn Selby; son Raymond Brown; daughter Ruth Wakeland; daughter Jody Houghtaling; son Milo Schoonmaker; 14 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. John served as a Police Officer in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico before moving to Artesia, New Mexico in 1982 and working in the Oil Field. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Twin Oaks Memorial Park.

In loving Memory of Ann Hilario, age 82 Mrs. Hilario passed away on February 23rd, 2024 at Artesia Healthcare and rehabilitation Center in Artesia, New Mexico. Ann was born on July 13th, 1941 in Lansing, Michigan. She lived a full life of adventure and love, from raising six boys, running a bed and breakfast, to navigating the open roads as a truck driver. During her later years in life Ann, found joy in reading Nick Carter books, crocheting, watching soap operas, and getting her hair and nails done. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Perry Hitchcock, and brothers Wayne Cowen and Jimmy Most. Survivors include her sons Jim Hitchcock, Todd Hitchcock, Darrin Hitchcock, Bryan Hitchcock, and Richard Garlets; sisters Anna Day and Donna Lee; also by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. A memorial service will be held at 4pm Saturday, March 2, at 906 Thoroughbred Rd. Artesia, NM. Patrick Flores will officiate at the services.

Alfonso Romero, 62, of Artesia, NM, was called home with our Lord on February 13, 2024, after suffering a heart attack and stroke and succumbing to his injuries. He was born in Visalia, CA on September 12, 1961 to Dionicio "Sonny" and Mary Ellen Romero. Alfonso was raised in Clovis, NM and attended Clovis High School. At 17 years of age, he left school for work and later joined the New Mexico Air National Guard, where he served 6 years. He then worked as a meat packer, metal worker and construction laborer amongst other occupations and was a dependable, hardworking man. Alfonso was preceded in death by his father Dionicio "Sonny" Romero and brother Alex Romero. He is survived by his son Joseph Romero; daughter-in-law Christie Romero; grandchildren Anthony, Alexis, Yannick, Alissa, Enos, Alexander and Aiden; great granddaughter Roselynn; mother Mary Ellen Torres; brothers Alfred, Billy, Noel and Milton; sisters Viola Garcia, Erica Taylor, Desna Wolf and Maxine Romero and companion Liz Bernard. Alfonso will always be remembered for his free spirit, since of humor, loyal friendship, and willingness to help others. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him and had the pleasure of calling him Dad, Grampo, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Nino, Primo and Friend. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Ballard Funeral Home, 910 S. Main, Roswell, NM 88203 with services to follow at 1:00 pm.

Nico has finally been reunited with his mother; they both are smiling down on their family. Nico could brighten anyone’s day with his smile, laughter, and his hugs.Nico was the first born to Jason Ray Hernandez and Heather Lynnette Sanchez on February 18, 2002, in Carlsbad, NM. He went to school in Artesia, New Mexico and in El Paso, Texas. Nico attended Faith Baptist Church and accepted his Lord and Savior on January 14, 2024.Nico was always spending time with his family and friends. He would give his shirt off his back if he could to anyone he met. He knew how to brighten anyone’s day by just talking to him. He made sure to give everyone a hug and always had the brightest smile. He was the life of the party anywhere he went. He had the best dance moves you have ever seen.
