Rosa Edilia PenaRosa Edilia Pena "Edilia", 77, of Union, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a visitation for Rosa on Thursday from 5 to 9 pm at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Avenue, Union. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 12 pm at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Graceland Memorial park in Kenilworth. Born in the Dominican Republic, Rosa moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1963, and then to Union, NJ in 1995. Working as a home health aide for many years, Rosa was most devoted to caring for her loving family and working in her family business. Always with a full house and a full heart, Rosa loved hosting the holidays. She enjoyed planting flowers and offering a helping hand to neighbors or those in need. Beloved wife of Jose Pena. Loving mother of Jose A. Pena and his wife Rosalia, Gabriel Pena, Ivette Pena and her husband David Torres. Sister of Isidro Tavarez, Anselmo Tavarez, Dario Tavarez, Rosa Nunez, Milagros Tavarez, Mariana Peralta, Ydalia Rodriguez, Altagracia Tavarez, Dolores Tavarez, and Carmen Tavarez. Cherished grandmother of Jose A. , Melina, Sofia, Nicholas and Alexa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rosa is predeceased by her parents Rene and Dolores (Rodriguez) Tavarez, and her brother Danilo Tavarez.
