Craig Rogers

Age - 50

December 2, 2023

Craig Rogers Gas pipeline safety engineer Craig Rogers, 50, who grew up in Choteau, died in his sleep from a blood clot/cardiac arrest on Nov. 11, 2023, at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Craig was born in Red Lodge on June 14, 1973, to Tom and Connie Rogers and moved with his family to Choteau when he was in first grade. As a youngster, he played sports in school and baseball during the summers, enjoyed camping with his family and friends and was in Cub and Boy Scouts. He attended Choteau High School where he played football and basketball all four years, lettering in both sports, and graduated with the class of 1992. Following high school graduation, he attended Montana State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. Craig married his high school sweetheart, Lori Conatser (the girl who lived across the street), on July 25, 1998, in Choteau. Soon after their marriage, the young couple moved to Billings, where Craig was employed by ELM, an underground locating company, and Lori worked as a nurse. Two years later, they moved to the Salt Lake City, Utah, area where Craig continued working with ELM. In 2002, their first son Kayden was born. Craig was then transferred to Las Vegas, where their son Carson was born in 2005. Later, Craig began working for the Nevada Public Utilities Commission as a gas pipeline safety engineer, having completed an engineering degree as a requirement for this position. In this industry, Craig was recognized and respected for his passion for safety. The National Utility Contractors Association described him as a trailblazer in the realm of damage prevention and said his impact resonated far beyond the state. He was known for his open-mindedness and thoughtful approach and had the ability to withhold judgment before he gained a full understanding of any issue. Craig coached Little League baseball and lacrosse for all the many years his sons were involved in the programs. The boys, as children and as the young men they have become, were always the focus of Craig’s life. Last September, Craig was invited to throw the first pitch before the Las Vegas Aviators game versus the Reno Aces. A right hander, Craig delivered a perfect strike, to no one’s surprise. Craig enjoyed gopher hunting and target shooting and loved to golf. He celebrated his 50th birthday with his wife and sons at several golf courses in Mesquite, Nevada. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend, and his presence will be sorely missed. His incredible smile and great sense of humor will also be missed by all who knew him. Craig is survived by his wife, Lori, and his sons, Kayden and Carson, all of Las Vegas; his parents, Tom and Connie Rogers of Choteau; his younger brother, Curtis (Michelle) Rogers and their children, Cole, Kennedy, Camden and Kassedy, all of Three Forks; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind his brother- and sister-in-law, Tim and Carly Conatser and their daughters, Chloe and Cammi, all of Belgrade; and his mother-in-law Jonnie Conatser of Choteau. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jack Conatser of Choteau. His funeral was Nov. 20 at the Choteau United Methodist Church with burial in the Choteau Cemetery. Frontier Funeral Home of Choteau handled arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Choteau Lions Club, P. O. Box 617, Choteau, MT 59422.Show more

Gregory Mcintire

Gregory Mcintire

Age - 70

December 2, 2023

Gregory Wayne McIntire – more commonly known as Mac McIntire – age 70, passed away peacefully from cancer on Thursday, November 30, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he resided for 34 years. He was born on October 26, 1953 in Monterey Park, California. He was the youngest of three children born to Douglas Ray McIntire and Denice Dallin. He has an older sister, Shelley (Logan, Utah); an older brother, Mark; and a younger half-brother, Kip, who both live in Evanston. His parents divorced when he was in first grade while he lived in Price, Utah. When Mac was in eighth grade, his mother met Joe Wheeler, who owned the Jolly Roger Restaurant in Evanston. Joe hired Mac’s mother to play the piano and organ at the restaurant during the summer and on weekends throughout the year. Mac also worked at the Jolley Roger as a dishwasher and busboy from age twelve. His mother married Joe Wheeler in May 1968 when Mac was in ninth grade. He attended his sophomore year of high school at East High in Salt Lake, living in Salt Lake during the week and in Evanston on the weekends. At the end of his sophomore year in school, he moved permanently to Wyoming. He finished his last two years of public school, graduating from Evanston High School in 1971. After attending a semester at Utah State University, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, where he served from 1972 to 1975 as a Security Police Officer. He was proud to be a Vietnam Era veteran. Shortly after joining the Air Force, Mac became an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He met his wife, Nadine Koznek, at an LDS Institute of Religion class in Spokane, Washington, where he was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. They were married and sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Temple on November 28, 1973. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. They had one son, Daniel Cark McIntire, who passed away in Evanston in 2014 at age 31. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, Mac enrolled at Brigham Young University, where he finished a five-year secondary education degree in three years. He did this while also serving as an editor of the school newspaper, an officer in a university service club, and a member of student government, while also working fulltime as the head of security police at Camp Williams, an Army National Guard installation north of Provo. He taught 11th-grade history at Jordan High School and then transitioned to the training field in the corporate world. He worked as an organizational development and human resource executive at American Express and Bank of America before starting his Las Vegas-based consulting and training company in 1990. For thirty-two years he worked with many of the best executives and Fortune 100 and Global 500 companies throughout the world. He was the author of five books and was a contributing author to seven other books. He also wrote and published over 200 business articles. He held patents and trademarks on the numerous business models he created. Mac was a compulsive volunteer throughout his life. His greatest service was as a Boy Scout leader for over 30 years. He served in leadership positions at the unit, district, and council levels. He particularly loved working with the LDS-BSA Relationship office in Salt Lake. He enjoyed his association with the Young Men and Primary General Presidencies of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was while working in this volunteer capacity he wrote a weekly blog article hoping to inspire LDS leaders to implement the Scouting program as the Lord intended. Mac became a sought-after speaker on LDS Scouting and conducted training sessions at numerous stake leadership encampments throughout the United States. Not surprisingly, Mac loved to camp. He tried to go camping at least once a month, sometimes more, whether it was with the Scouts or on his own. His pride-and-joy was his Sportsmobile -- an offroad camper van. He loved showing it off to others. Mac was a valiant disciple of Jesus Christ. He spoke boldly when talking about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Those who associated with him knew he "talked of Christ, (he) rejoiced of Christ, and (he) preached of Christ, (that all) may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins" (Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 25:26) There was no doubt in Mac’s mind that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are real. Mac’s relationship with Them and love for Them was as tangible as his relationship and love for Nadine. Just as he loved to be in Nadine’s presence every day, Mac sought to be in the presence of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ every day. He counseled with the Lord in everything he did and always had a prayer of gratitude in his heart. Mac was preceded in death by his son, father, and step-father. He is survived by his wife, Nadine; mother, Denice Wheeler; sister, Shelley; brothers Mark and Kip; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews who loved him. His life will be celebrated at a funeral service at the Charleston Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3400 West Charleston, Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, December 9, at noon. Condolences can be sent to Nadine McIntire at nadinemcintire@yahoo. com or 3321 Calle Del Torre, Las Vegas, Nevada 89102.Show more

Maria Jimenez

Maria Jimenez

Age - 92

December 1, 2023

Maria Jimenez quietly joined the afterlife surrounded by her six children on Friday, November 24, 2023. In the same bedroom where her mother, Anastacia Aquino died 32 years prior and the home comforted by decades of memories where she welcomed so many into. Born in Pueblo, Colorado and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, she spent her young adult years working as a secretary for the local rail road in Mexico City. Thanks to this role, she was privileged to travel via railway to many destinations in Mexico, sparking a love of travel that spanned many years. But before her worldly adventures to Europe and South America began, she moved to Las Vegas with her husband and their oldest daughter, Pati. Maria called Las Vegas home since arriving in 1955. Thanks to the many opportunities Las Vegas afforded, she was fortunate enough to bring her infectious personality to various downtown casinos and strip hotels, from her post as a change girl to a supervisory position in the housekeeping department. Lady Luck, Mint, Four Queens, Flamingo, Caesars Palace, the International Hotel and the historic El Cortez were all lucky to have Maria on staff. She also held a position with the Clark County School District in the cafeteria at Rancho High School, where a few of her descendents eventually attended school. While she brought countless smiles to tourists and coworkers alike, Maria's biggest accomplishments came in the form of her family and friends. Her home on East Owens in North Las Vegas was the epicenter of memory building, from birthdays and holidays to game nights and church gatherings. The party will live on in the hearts of many for years to come. Maria is preceded in death and reunited with her husband, Enrique Jimenez, and her sister, Maria Osuna, brothers Jose Angel and Antonio Aquino, and she is survived by her sister, Socorro Sanchez, and her six children, who she had close relationships with throughout her life: Patricia Jimenez, Henry Jimenez, Belinda (Susi) Brooks, Brenda Aviles, Martin Jimenez and Arthur Jimenez. She was also blessed with 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter--a legacy cemented thanks to the care and love she showered each of them with. It's the memories of her cooking delicious Mexican dishes and traditional fare, such as tamales, her dancing tango in San Diego. Her love of dance carried out to various venues dancing the jarabe tapatio, and choreographed Quinceaneras Waltzes or other folklore shows in her community that left an impact on her loved ones. Thanks to her funny jokes and big smile, you always knew when Maria was around. When you greeted her, she would grab your face, give you a big kiss and usually say. "ay, mijita" or "ay, mijito" followed by a generous compliment. And, for the latter decades, she would be donning her sunglasses. Whether visiting the elderly to entertain them with her dancing or grooving in her Zumba class well into her early 80s thanks to her daughter, she danced through life spreading her joy for everyone else to experience--friends, family or perfect strangers, her love and hospitality extended to all. Her faith drove her compassion for others. A member of the St. Christopher's Catholic Church since 1964, she and her husband welcomed families to stay in her home if needed on numerous occasions and her generous financial contributions to assist those in need was outstanding. She gave with love and in return was cherished by so many. Maria's light shined right up until the very end.
