Ronnie was a loving husband of thirty years to wife, Lucy, and a devoted father to his daughter, Veronica, and sons, Josiah and Christian. He was also a grandfather of three: Taylor, Kennedy, and Kaleb. He was a proud family man and enjoyed spending time with them. He grew up on the southside of San Antonio and graduated in 1975 from Harlandale High School. In his mid-twenties his life was miraculously transformed when he received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He began attending International Bible College in San Antonio where he graduated in 1991 with a four-year degree in Biblical Studies. Ronnie was an ordained minister of the gospel. He had the privilege of serving his Lord as a church pastor and as a traveling evangelist. He had a passion for reaching the lost and had a heart for missions. In recent years, he had the opportunity to travel to other nations representing Refiner's Fire Ministries "Sounding Out the Word of the Lord" through evangelistic outreaches and crusades. He was also a conference speaker and had preached in numerous churches in the U. S. and abroad. As a servant of God called to the ministry, he most enjoyed his time of prayer, meditation, and studying God's Word. He loved preaching, teaching, preparing, and planning for the ministry. Ronnie cherished the relationships, connections, and friendships he made over the years with other ministers. Ronnie also enjoyed watching sports on TV (especially with his son) and loved the Cowboys and the Spurs. He really liked the game of basketball and had the opportunity to coach his son as a young boy. Fishing, swimming, riding roller coasters, watching old Westerns and the Rocky movies were some of the activities he spent time doing. Since moving back to San Antonio in 2015, he regularly walked a few miles at a nearby park while he listened to worship music from his playlist and prayed. He will be greatly missed by the many people who loved and cared for him. Although there is sadness in the fact that he is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing he is not suffering anymore. He is face to face with the One he loved and gave His life for him. Psalm 17:15 N KJV "As for me, I will see your face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied when I awake in your likeness". A visitation for Ronnie will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at International Bible Church, 2369 Benrus Blvd, 78228 with a Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 PM.
