Visitation on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Williams & Southall Funeral Home, Thibodaux, LA from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Visitation on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Moses Baptist Church from 9:00am to religious services at 11:00am. Interment private. Survived by his wife, Martha T. Thomas; 1 son, Melvin J. Ballard, IV; 3 daughters, Shenell T. Johnson (Isaac), Lolita Jones, and Tanya Flugence; 3 brothers, Lloyd, Larry, and Michael Thomas; 1 sister, Lois Thomas-Jospeh; 3 sisters-in-law, Norma, Lucille, and Tammy Thomas; 1 uncle, Herbert Alexander; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 9:00 AM until service time at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM with burial following in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Labat Borne; daughters, Katina B. Navarre (Greg), Leanne B. Gravois (Andy); grandchildren, Kassie Gravois and Kain Gravois; sister, Sallie Rose. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Borne, Jr. and Stephanie Amedee Borne; brothers, Gerald Borne, Michael Borne and Roy Borne; sisters, Audrey (V. J. ) Dufrene and Patricia Cazes; father and mother in law, Nelson and Genevieve Labat. He was a volunteer for the United Way and the Council on Aging. He was a member of the Knight's of Columbus Council #12060. He was avid watcher of baseball and a big fan the New York Yankees. Clive "C. J. " Hoffmann Jr. , 79, a native and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana passed away on November 28, 2023. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Thibodaux Funeral Home, Thibodaux, Louisiana from 9:00 am until the Religious Service at 11:00 am. He is survived by his daughters, Dawn H. Bricknell (Jake), Candi M. Hoffmann, Cassie H. Benoit (Chuck); sister, Peggy H. Cancienne (Wayne); grandchildren, Jennifer C. Dryden (Chad), Lucas Bricknell, Jonathan C. Price (Kristopher), Haylie C. Rollins (Drake), Callie J. Benoit; great-grandchildren, Emily and Aubrey Dryden, Thad Bricknell, Leah, Noah, and Owen Rollins; numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren; and his fur babies, Rudy, Duke, and Lalia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria J. Albritton Hoffmann; son, Thad P. Hoffmann; parents, Flora and Clive J. Hoffmann, Sr. ; and in-laws, Ernest and Frances Albritton. Clive served both Thibodaux Police Department and Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Protector Fire Company #2 for over 50 years. He was also "Santa" to many. He will be missed by all who knew him, he never met a stranger. The family would like to thank TRMC staff and doctors who cared for him. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ordoyne Funeral Home and will continue on Monday December 4, 2023 from 8:00 AM until service time at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at the church with burial following in Saint Joseph Cemetery. She is survived by her four sons, Ellery Rodrigue (Gayle), Myron Rodrigue (Judy), Glenn Rodrigue (Trudy) and Brian Rodrigue (Connie); three daughters, Elaine Rodrigue, Iris Rousseau (Gary) and Denise Olivier (Jerome); 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 9:00 AM until service time at Ordoyne Funeral Home. Military Honors will begin at 11:00 AM with a funeral service immediately following. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Norma Collier Vitanza; children, Maria Angelina (Tim), Zoila (Peter), Robert Vitanza, Jr. (Cathy), Eric "Vee" (Izabela); stepchildren, Jochy (Dave), Lourdes (Darryl); grandchildren, Bryce, Garrett, Kristin, Connor, Caroline, Mereith, Jessica, Vanessa (Gemma), Scott (Sarah), Melissa (Scott), Mandy (Matt), Monice (Aaron); siblings, Betty, Armando (Myrna), Enrique (Judith). A memorial visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Thibodaux on December 9, 2023, from 9:00 a. m. until mass at 11:00 a. m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elaine Webre Thibodaux; daughter, Trisha Clements (Drew); son, Ryan Thibodaux (Amanda); brothers, Gerald Thibodaux (Anne), Lionel Thibodaux (Carolyn), Randy Thibodaux (Shelia), and Tommy Thibodaux(Heidi); sisters, Barbera Von Aspern (Leo), Priscilla Oncale (C. J. ), Mary Thibodaux, and Penny Thibodaux; grandchildren, Gavin Clements, Aidan Clements, and Chloe Thibodaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace M. Thibodaux and Theresa Orgeron Thibodaux; sister, Linda Billiot; brother Mark Thibodaux; and In-laws, Edward L. Webre and Ora Molaison Webre. Horace was well known for his professional role in the community and had a long and successful career with T. Baker Smith and after retirement as an independent business owner. His titles over the years included Vice President of Environmental Services, Environmental Professional, and Chief Sanitarian. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Environmental Health Association. He was a huge mentor to many people. Horace was highly respected by his colleagues and had a wealth of knowledge in his field. He loved nature, especially bird watching. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Elaine, his kids, and their families. His three grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was known for his jovial nature, always ready to tell a joke or play a prank. He had a kind heart and would do anything for anyone. He leaves with us lasting memories of joy and laughter.
