Phyllis Lee Wooldridge, 69, formerly of Little Britain, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. She was the loving wife of the late James W. Wooldridge, with whom she shared 17 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2015. She was also the wife of the late Ronald E. Neff, Sr. , who passed away in 1986. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Vaughn E. and Viola (Hurley) Miller. Phyllis graduated high school in North Carolina. She worked as a CNA at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center for over 20 years. Having the gift of a "green thumb", Phyllis had a love for gardening and had great success growing vegetables. She also found enjoyment in cooking, especially for holidays, and faithfully each year she would bake her children a birthday cake. Many did not know that Phyllis was an artist, painting and drawing beautiful pieces of art. In her retirement, she served as a preschool aide at Noah's Ark Preschool for three years so she could be with her grandson. She is survived by her children, Ronald E. (Jaime) Neff, Jr. , of Peach Bottom, and Michelle L. (Terry) Reifsnyder, of Royersford; brothers, Robert Miller, of MS, Richard (Joyce) Miller, of CA, and Kenneth Miller, of Parkesburg; sister, Barbara (Jerry) Johnson, of VT; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Miller, and a sister, Shirley Schipanski. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services, 227 West 4 Street, Quarryville, PA 17566, with a time of visitation at the funeral home from 10 a. m. - 11 a. m. Ruth Ann Wood, 86 formerly of Little Britain, recently a resident of Willow Valley, passed on December 16, 2020 after a brief illness. She was a victim of COVID 19. Ruth Ann was the daughter of the late Owen H. and Edna A. Groff. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse Wood and a foster son Dat T. Tran. Ruth Ann was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed being with her children and their families and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children: Cindy Lou wife of Douglas Tanner of New Providence; Jesse James husband of Patricia (Townley) Wood of Little Britain; Edna Sue wife of Robert Rose of Lititz; Linda Jo wife of Ronald Bolt; Jeffery Owen husband of Tammy (Dickel) Wood; Thanh husband of Lisa (Charles) Tran, all of Little Britain, Nottingham, PA. Ruth Ann was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was also survived by 8 siblings, Ione wife of the late John Gardner of Willow Street; Owen H. Jr. husband of Rose Mary (Gingrich) Groff of Quarryville; David husband of Pam (Tarr) Groff of Albuquerque, NM; Phillip C. Groff of North East Md.; Norma Jean Sapp of Willow Street; Abigail wife of Mark King of Lancaster; Patricia wife of Dr. Gary Wright of Millersville; Pamela wife of Brian Jones of Ronks, along with numerous nieces and nephews. After graduating from high school Ruth Ann was a busy mother of 5 and then began her career with the United States Postal Service. First as a rural carrier and finally as a Postmaster. She served at Nottingham and Parkesburg, Pa as well as many other locations. She also served as an officer of the National League of Postmasters during her postal career. Ruth Ann was a woman of strong faith and was a very active member of Mechanic Grove Church of the Brethren. She served her community in many capacities. They included the Women's Fellowship at Mechanics Grove, as a member of the Fulton Grange, the Southern Lancaster County Historical Society, and the Quaker Ladies of Eastland Meeting House. She was a very active volunteer for such organizations as Meals on Wheels, LOVE, Inc, Visiting Angles, and most recently as a driver for Willow Valley. Ruth Ann loved to travel and visited many world destinations during her lifetime. Her most recent trips where to Australia, Africa, and last year, Egypt. She also loved her Willow Valley home and community of friends and enjoyed spending time with her companion of the last few years, Jim Yinger. She was an avid card player and enjoyed playing golf over the years. She was a very loving, caring and giving person. She loved life and felt very blessed to have had a full and wonderful life. In the coming year, we will join to celebrate Ruth Ann's life, when COVID is no longer a threat. David C. Thomas, 78, of Little Britain, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 7, 2020 surrounded by his family. Dave was born on June 8, 1941 in Twin Oaks, PA to the late Clyde and Addie (Lord) Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, MaryAnn (Bard) Thomas. Dave was a graduate of Oxford High School and served in the United States Navy from 1959-1965. He was active in fire protection all of his life, having his own fire protection business for over 25 years. He went on to work for and retire from Marco Fire Suppression. A lifetime member of Union Fire Company in Oxford and a past member of Robert Fulton Fire Company, he assumed many roles including Fire Chief for a number of years. He was an active member of Washington Lodge #156 F.&A.M. in Quarryville and Zembo Temple Shriners. Dave was also a 30-year member of Brookland Hunting and Fishing Club and a past member of the Wakefield Lions Club. Dave enjoyed his years in the Fire Protection Field and was a huge advocate for fire prevention all of his life. He valued the time he spent with his family and friends. When not at home, he enjoyed spending time at the family camp in Potter County. He loved the mountains and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his later years, he enjoyed watching his grandson's baseball games, rarely missing one. David is survived by two sons, David (Michelle) Jr of Little Britain and Joshua (Paula) Thomas of Little Britain. He is survived by 3 grandchildren which he adored: Ben Thomas, Brooke Thomas and Brady Thomas. He is also survived by 2 brothers, William of Nottingham and Allen of Rising Sun. Dave was preceded in death by three siblings: Lois Perry, Janet Jones, and Merle Thomas. A private funeral service will be held at Dewald Funeral and Cremation Services, 227 West Fourth Street, Quarryville. Interment will be in the Cochranville Methodist Cemetery. Kevin Scott Icenhour, 50, of Little Britain, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 9, 2020, due to injuries sustained in a car accident. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Beverly (Stoner) Icenhour and the late Robert Fred Icenhour.Kevin was a proud graduate of Solanco's class of 1988 and spent most of his life as a drywall hanger and finisher.Anyone that knew Kevin knew he was full of life and never held a grudge. He always had a joke to tell or a prank to pull. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.In addition to his mother, Kevin is survived by his children, Cole Adams, of New Providence, Gage Icenhour and Linsi Icenhour, both of New Providence, and Austin Icenhour, of Quarryville; brothers, Paul Icenhour, and wife Nancy, of Little Britain, and Russel Icenhour, and wife Ann, of Quarryville; and his nieces, A.J. and Ally.
