Ronald E. Keefer, 75, of State Line, PA, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, April 23, 2023, in his home. Born December 22, 1947, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Chester F. Keefer and Nellie (Helman) Keefer. He graduated from Greencastle High School with the class of 1965, and served with the Army Reserves for six years; 1967 until 1972. Ronald worked for 33 years in the family business, Keefer's Mobile Home Service and Supply, along with Bottled Gas Service. He is survived by his beloved wife, of over 40 years Susan F. (Shaffer) Keefer, whom he married in 1982. Ronald was very active, having many different interests. He was on several 10 Pin Bowling leagues and bowled at Turners in Hagerstown, and Nellie Fox Bowling Alley. He loved slow pitch softball and excelled in his performance. Ronnie collected green and white granite ware and had a large and impressive collection of baseball cards and memorabilia of Nellie Fox of the Chicago White Sox baseball team. Ronnie also was a long-time fan of the New York Yankees and Penn State Football. He followed Davey Allison in NASCAR, and later followed the carrier of Jeff Gordon. He was on the pit crew for 13 years of Denny Bonebrake Racing at Hagerstown Speedway. Ronnie really enjoyed the time he spent helping with the set up for singer/performer, David King, Elvis impersonator. In addition to his wife, some special people in his life were his cousin, Dorie Rowe, Daryl Shaffer, friend since high school and special caregiver, Kathy Free, who cared for all his needs. Ronnie lived his entire life in State Line and had many friends and acquaintances and was fondly referred to as the Mayor of State Line. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P. M. , Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, with Pastor David Grove officiating.
