Ronald H. Cochran, 70, also known by Ronnie, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, on September 8, 2023. Born on April 29, 1953, in Newark, Ronnie spent his formative years in Keansburg before moving to Union Beach in 2007. Ronnie was predeceased by his parents, Roscoe and Marilyn Cochran, his wife, Simone Cochran, and his sister, Denise Ziegenfuss. His life will continue to be celebrated by his long-time companion, Mary Shank of Union Beach, his five brothers, Thomas (Pam) Cochran of Pennsylvania, Raymond Cochran of Toms River, Roscoe Cochran of Ocean Township, James (Donna) of North Carolina and Dennis (Karen) Cochran of North Carolina. He is also survived by his three sisters, Regina Cochran-Kopec (Richard Kopec), Carolyn Cochran of Middletown, and Robin (Bobby) Kelly of Middletown, and his brother-in-law, Thomas Ziegenfuss of Pennsylvania. Ronnie's many nieces, nephews, and extended family members will miss him dearly. Ronnie was a steadfast and dedicated worker, as a maintenance and janitorial worker for Keansburg High School. His commitment to the community also extended to his role as an active crossing guard for Union Beach, where he ensured the safety of the town's children with a warm smile and a friendly wave. Beyond his work, Ronnie enjoyed visiting Atlantic City, and was known as an avid Bingo player, often bringing joy and laughter to those around him with his infectious enthusiasm. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished by all who knew him. Ronnie's zest for life was evident in his love for his family. His laughter was a sound that could brighten any room. Above all, Ronnie was a man who found happiness in the simple things in life. In remembering Ronnie, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love and laughter and the joy he brought to those around him. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, September 13th, from 4-7pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private.
