Age - 78

Patsy Ann Johnson (nee Terp), 78, of Oakwood Hills, IL, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023. Patsy was born July 22, 1944, in Chicago to the late Harold and Geraldine Terp. Pat graduated from Schurz High School and had a successful career for many years at CNA Insurance and then at Allstate. Pat is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Joe Gaylord; her nephew Jeff Gaylord (Mary); and her niece Susan Lieske (Todd). Pat married and divorced twice--her first marriage was to Donald Fretland. Her second marriage was to Mick Johnson in 2003. Mick remains a loving and lifelong friend to Pat, and the two shared many interests and happy times. Pat was a fun aunt who livened up many a family gathering. She was a phenomenal cook, and she had quite the green thumb. Thanks to Mick, Pat's last yard and garden were beautiful--her tomatoes were especially robust and tasty! Pat had a keen interest in birds and had a variety of feeders and birdbaths in her yard. She loved going to Flying Friends to pick out food for the specific birds who visited her inviting yard. Pat loved dogs, especially her three dogs Maxine, Benny, and Sadie. Pat also enjoyed hunting and became quite an accomplished huntress. One of her prized possessions was Clark the Elk, and she loved to tell the story of that particular hunt. We will miss our Auntie Pat. We had the long good-bye that many face when loved ones have dementia. She still had her sassy spirit these past few years and still loved to make us laugh. She will be missed by her family, friends, and caring neighbors. Pat's ashes will be laid to rest with a memorial service at Graceland Cemetery in Chicago at a date to be determined.
