ARNAUDVILLE ~ Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 at an 11:00 a. m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Roland Jude Stelly, age 81, who passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at his residence in Arnaudville. Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Travis Abadie, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Readers will be Jessica Stelly Peterman and David Castille. Giftbearers will be his four granddaughters. Musical selections will be provided by Debbie Leblanc, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs will be Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, One Bread, One Body, Be Not Afraid, and Ave Maria. Mr. Roland lived most of his life in Arnaudville and Lafayette. A devoted Catholic he was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church for many years. He worked for SAIA Motor Freight for over 29 years. Mr. Roland loved fishing, watching sports of any kind, playing bourre with his long-time friends, and always willing to lend a helping hand; he enjoyed volunteering every year at the Etouffee Festival to help support his church. He was truly proud of his title as Husband, Father, and Grandfather and loved being surrounded by his family. Family meant everything to him. His house was often the gathering place for the extended family on holidays and other events. Those family get togethers often featured Roland's great barbecue, which was loved by all. Survivors include one son; Gregory Stelly and his wife, Karen; two daughters; Jennifer Stelly, and Suzanne S. Miller and her husband, Stacy; four grandchildren, Taylor Stelly Plemer and her husband, Dalton, Morgan Stelly, Callie Miller, and Abby Miller; two brothers, Lloyd Stelly and his wife, Phyllis and John Earl Stelly and his wife, Rose; one sister, Gail Castille and her husband, Charles; one sister-in-law Hilda; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Vigie Stelly; his parents, Joseph Dudley Stelly and the former Agnes Marks; two brothers, Alfred Stelly and Larry Stelly; one sister, Yvonne Kennedy and her husband, Boyd; his in laws, Talbert Joseph Vigie and the former Frances Sagnibene. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am Friday and will continue until service time on Friday. Pallbearers will be Gregory Stelly, Charles Castille, David Castille, Stacy Miller, Lloyd Stelly, and John Earl Stelly. The honorary pallbearer will be Judith Stelly. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Judith Stelly, Gabe Robin, NP, the nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana, & Heart Hospital of Lafayette for all their care and compassion. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Vivian Richard, age 84, who passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Ochsner St. Mary Hospital in Morgan City. Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. The Rev. Travis Abadie, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Mrs. Richard was a native of Arnaudville and a resident of Morgan City. A devout Catholic, she prayed the rosary every night. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, going to the casino, crocheting, watching The Price is Right and her soap operas, spending time at the hunting camp and drinking a cold one. Spending time with her kids and grandchildren was her favorite. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include one son, Douglas Bergeron, Jr. and his wife, Jessica; two daughters, Lisa Carpenter and her husband, Dudley, and Linda Gros and her husband, Kirk; twelve grandchildren, Micah Meador and her husband, Scott, Jamie Thibodeaux, Tara Dekerlegand and her husband, Karl "KJ", Joshua Bergeron and his wife, Brooke, Tabitha Bergeron and her partner, Catina, Khykera Thomas and her husband, Freddie, Sierra Kober and her husband, Zack, Maddison Bergeron, Rusty Credeur and his wife, Jesi, Blake Credeur, Cory Carpenter and his wife, Ashley "Le-Le", and Chantell Carrere and her husband, Lynn; twenty-seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren with one on the way; two sisters, Mary Jane Allemond; and Connie R. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Douglas Bergeron, Sr. ; one daughter, Belinda Credeur; her parents, Sidney Joseph Richard and the former Mary Virgie Stelly, both natives of Arnaudville; five brothers, Paul Sidney Richard and his wife, Jeanette, Joseph James "Eugene" Richard and his wife, Geraldine, Steven Richard, Sr. whom was also her Godchild, and Melvin Richard, Sr. and his wife, Irma, and Charles Wilson Richard; two brothers in law, Bobby Allemond, Sr. , and Harris Bergeron; and one Godchild, Geno Bergeron. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p. m. Friday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a. m. until 10:00 p. m. SUNSET ~ Funeral services are pending for Aubree Grace Foreman, age 16, who passed away into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at her residence in Sunset. Aubree Grace Foreman was born on October 6, 2007, celebrating her 16th birthday this year. She attended Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy where she was actively involved and enjoyed helping for various events. She was a scholar, a shining light for her peers, and radiated love!Aubree played an integral role in spotlighting various organizations throughout the community and advocated for the Fill the Boot Foundation to support our heroes. She was a local Good Will Ambassador for the MDA and a Shamrock Ambassador - a position which allowed her to travel to many MDA events. She had an admirable respect for those in uniform and was an honorary Lafayette Marshall Officer, an Honorary Junior Fire Fighter with Station 13, and an honorary black belt with Daigle's ATA. Officer Aubree aspired to become a 911 dispatcher to be able to help others in need. Aubree's goal was to spread awareness and through this beautiful soul, many lives have been touched and will continue to be touched through her legacy. She was an extraordinary little girl that was adored by everyone she came in contact with. She just had this special aura about her that was loved by all and will be missed by many. Mr. Noel was a native of Arnaudville and a resident of Henderson. He retired after 30 years as a Drag Line Operator with Berry Brothers General Contractors. Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 27, 2023 at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Carlos Edwardo Figueiredo, 66, who passed away on November 16, 2023 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Monday from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Monday. Rev. Blake Dubroc will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Jamie Figueiredo and Emry Figueiredo. Gift bearers will be Brecken Figueiredo, Noah and Reid Vizena, and Anderson Broussard. Carlos was born in Petrolopis, Brazil, but was raised in Arnaudville, LA. He was known by the nickname, "Ca Nee". Carlos graduated from Arnaudville High School in 1975. He then attended trade school where he was trained in Nondestructive Testing. Carlos was employed by several companies. A few were, D & W Enterprises, Bordens, Cameron Ironworks now Cooper Cameron then finally Shell Oil. Shell gave him the opportunity to work in Singapore, Malaysia, and New Orleans, where he then retired. His place of residence was Lafayette for several years. Carlos spent many years working overseas, where he made many friends just like he did at home. He was a very likeable man that would help anyone if he was able. While overseas, he became an avid golfer. When back in Louisiana, he did play golf, but spent time bass fishing in Toledo Bend. The last few years he spent his time camping in his RV and at the hunting camp in Tensas National Wildlife Refuge with Jenny and their dog, Zoie. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his partner Jenny Hebert; two brothers, Luiz Figueiredo (Maria) and Murray Rabalais Jr. (Joan); four sisters, Anne R. Richard (partner Jay Clothier), Karen R. Olivier (Pat), Ana Lucia Figueiredo and Ana Lydia Camargo; one son, Tibby Figueiredo (Sadie), two daughters, Megan Broussard and Jamie Figueiredo; five grandchildren, Brecken and Emry Figueiredo, Noah and Reid Vizena and Anderson Broussard. He is preceded in death by his mother, Louise G. Rabalais; father, Murray Rabalais Sr;brother, Warren Figueiredo; and grandparents Octave and Alma Guilbeau. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking,and he was known as the jack of all trades. He was known to be the prankster of the family, and loved to tell a good joke. David loved his dog, Ranger, whom was his world. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville. Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Rev. Darren Eldridge, pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, will officiate at the services. Musical selections will be provided by Debbie LeBlanc, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. Elia was born on August 27, 1929 in Garland, Louisiana, to the late, Etienne Courville, and the former Frances Janise. She grew up in Leonville, moved to California for eighteen years where she raised her family, and eventually moved back to Leonville. She was employed at Denny's for thirteen years, and then went on to retire from Fruit of the Loom in St. Martinville, after working there for fifteen years. An active member of her community, Elia was a member of the wonderful group of ladies at "Young at Heart", where she and others cooked together to help others. She was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. She enjoyed cooking and sewing in her spare time, but most of all she loved spending time with her dear family. Elia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Bazar; three grandchildren, Jason Roy, Jill Roy Lastrapes and her husband, Eric, and Jennie Bazar Ledoux and her husband, Justin; four great-grandchildren, Luke, Evan, Reese, and Kane; a daughter-in-law, Betty Roy; a sister-in-law, Betty Courville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
