Roger W. Reese passed away in St. Louis, MO on Monday, May 1, 2023 after a prolonged illness. His wife of 32 years, Cynthia (Cyndie), remained devotedly by his side fighting along with him. Roger was born in Xenia, Ohio as the youngest son of John G. and Mildred (nee Sears) Reese. He was a proud graduate of THE Ohio State University and a US Army Veteran achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. After enjoying a long and fulfilling career in the electronics industry with NCR, ICL, and PAR, Roger retired as Vice President of Manufacturing for St. Louis Music. Roger was hardworking by nature, keeping busy with an array of interests, hobbies, and home improvement projects. Always a craftsman, he created many beautiful woodwork and craft projects in his "shop" for family and friends. In his earlier years, he stitched lovely needlework pieces which became cherished family heirlooms. Roger was always willing to lend a helping hand - especially when it involved the use of power tools. Over the years he enjoyed good times with family and friends, with many fond memories created at Rocky Fork State Park, Shawnee Lake, and Cambridge, OH, Central NY, and St. Louis, MO. Roger participated in many sports including waterskiing, golf and shooting sports. He was a member and past president of the St. Louis Skeet and Trap Club of Eureka, MO. He was also a devoted fan of Ohio State Buckeyes football and Cardinals baseball. Roger was a great cook whipping up many recipes passed down from his mother. He was a man of faith, most recently as a member of St. Francis' Episcopal Church of Eureka, MO. He was a proud American. He loved the outdoors and traveling (especially road trips), photography, country music, antiquing/collecting, and more recently, the simpler pleasures of watching MeTV classics, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. Roger's gentle, but strong nature, loyalty, integrity, and character had a profound impact on those fortunate enough to have known him. He was a remarkable man exhibiting great courage and strength while facing each day of his extended illness. He fought the good fight and was a warrior to the end. He is the beloved husband of Cynthia (nee Allaire) Reese; dear father of Sarah (Michael) Blanchard, Rachel Tarbox, and Jonathan (Tanya) Reese; loving 'Grandpa Roger' of Reesanne Tarbox, Caden Tarbox, Evan Reese, Alex Reese, and Emery Blanchard; brother of Richard (Bonnie) Reese, and Rachel (Bob) Weidner. Roger's presence will be missed by his extended family (Brad Tarbox, 'Mom' Allaire, Christine Davies (Scott), Armand Allaire (Teresa), Arthur Allaire (Clarissa), and Andrew Allaire (Jean). Roger is survived by many special nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and business associates. The family would also like to acknowledge with special thanks: devoted friend Jeff Powers for Ohio arrangements, Grant Williams for his constant support, Sharon Silver for her endless supply of treats and helping hands, and Herman Clay for his tender care in Roger's bravely fought final months. SERVICES: St. Louis arrangements are private through the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, Ballwin, MO.
