Roger Earl Marshall, 73, of Pace, Florida, passed away peacefully Saturday April 22, 2023, at his home. Roger was born on September 8, 1949, to Willie and Stella Marshall. He was a native of Pace, Florida and graduated from Milton High School. He retired from the Santa Rosa County School District after 32 years of service. He was a disc jockey at WEBY in Milton, Florida, and WXBM AM/FM in Milton from 1967-1984. His favorite times as a disc jockey were Sundays when he was able to play Sunday Morning Gospel Music. Many afternoons he could be seen playing kickball with his grandchildren. He was also very fond of hunting on his property in Alabama with his son, Matt. He seldom missed watching an Alabama Football Game: ROLL TIDE!!! He loved country music, hunting, fishing, visiting the Great Smoky Mountains, and making wonderful memories with his family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister, Louise; and his brothers, Bill, Fred, and James. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Joy; his son, Matt (Leza); and four beautiful grandchildren, Joy, Cayden, Auston, and Aubry. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday April 27, 2023, at Bible Baptist Church, 4001 Vern Street Pace, Florida 32571, with visitation at Lewis Funeral Home Pace Chapel, 4777 West Spencer Field Road Pace, Florida 32570, on Wednesday April 26, 2023, from 6:00-8:00pm and service Thursday at Bible Baptist Church at 11:00am. Interment will immediately follow at Juniper Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mike Fowler, JD Gaither, and his four nephews Tim, Donald, Jon, and Michael. The family would like to especially thank the people who helped care for Roger the last few years: Council on Aging, Emerald Coast Hospice, Danielle (his nurse), and his personal caregivers from TLC (Gina, Darlene, Linda, and Jordan).
