Roger Lewis Love September 5, 1932 - September 29, 2023 Roger Love, of Erie, Colorado, passed peacefully at his home at the age of 91. Roger was born September 5, 1932 in the family home in Britt, Iowa to Raymond and Shirley (Lewis) Love. He grew up big brother to his sister Jean. The family moved to Garner, Iowa when Roger was three years old. He graduated from Garner High School and then from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa in 1954 where he received his degree in economics and business. Roger proudly served in the army starting in 1954, as part of regiment 35 of the 25th division of the Army. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks Army base in Oahu, Hawaii until his release from the Army in June of 1956. Roger attended the University of Iowa on the GI Bill. He obtained his master's degree in labor and industrial management in May of 1958. He started his career at Western Electric at the Hawthorn Works plant in Cicero, Illinois. Roger married Janet C. Mullinax on November 2, 1963 and lived in Downers Grove, Illinois. In 1969, Roger transferred to a new AT&T plant in Broomfield and Roger, Janet, daughter Lisa and sons Eric and John, moved to Boulder. Roger served at Grace Commons Church (formerly First Presbyterian Church) in Boulder as an Elder and on Session. He retired from AT&T after 31 years in 1989. For two years he did consulting work for local businesses and then served as Business Administrator at Grace Commons Church from 1991 through 1999. Roger served on the board of The Boulder Presbyterian Manor as Treasurer. He enjoyed playing golf with his sons, fishing in Iowa and Minnesota, and spending time at the family farm outside of Britt, Iowa. Roger, Eric, and John took annual trips to the farm including their most recent trip last October. He devoted his time to attending piano recitals, school choir concerts, coaching Little League baseball, and attended many baseball games and tennis matches. After retirement, he and Janet traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. He and Janet took all the children, their spouses, and grandchildren to Mexico for wonderful family vacations on multiple occasions. He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren Brandon, Amber, Joshua, Dara, Anna, Gray and Tatum. After Janet's death in 2008, Roger spent time with his grandson Joshua picking him up from school every Thursday afternoon from sixth grade on. They spent hours at Barnes and Noble in Boulder reading books, talking about life over a coffee and hot chocolate. Roger recently had the joy of holding his great granddaughter, Elaina Hart. In March 20, 2011, Roger married Vernie Schorr. They enjoyed twelve years together. Roger participated in training events and supported her Character Choice ministry and writing of books and curriculum for the spiritual formation of children. Roger is survived by his wife, Vernie of Erie, CO her two children Diane (Scott) and Steve (Kathy), son Eric (Jennifer) of Erie CO, son John (Sheri) of Kansas City KS, and son in law Jeff Thulin, eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Roger is preceded in living with Jesus by his wife of 44 years, Janet, his daughter, Lisa, and his sister, Jean Gray. Roger will be interred at Green Mountain Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Commons Church in Boulder on Sunday, October 22nd at 2:00 p. m. William (Bill) Arthur Hendrix, 94, of Erie CO passed away peacefully on Sept 29, 2023. He is preceded in death by his loving bride of 71 years Blondina (Deanie) Hendrix, his parents Mildred and Arthur Hendrix and sister Betty Hendrix Duncan. Bill was born Sep 5, 1929, in Drumright, Oklahoma. He studied at the University of Oklahoma where he lettered in swimming and diving. Bill was a graduate of Oklahoma State University. After ROTC he received an Army commission. He proudly served as a Captain in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers near the end of the Korean war. He was a Reserve Officer until l970. Upon returning from Korea, he founded a small finance company. He sold that company to GAC and accepted a management position and transferred to Colorado in 1967. Bill started his career in the RV Industry as President of Red Dale Coach in 1969. He expanded the manufacturing into Texas and California. In 1971 he started an RV dealership in Denver which he operated for several years. Later he and Deanie were hired by The Dometic Corporation. Bill and Deanie traveled the country in one of several custom motorhomes. They provided service, consulting, and PR work. Living in a motorhome full time for 27 years. They enjoyed the friendships they developed from 70 years in the RV industry, Bill was very well known and admired. He wrote over 300 technical articles and held several US Patents for RV accessories. In1999 his wheels settled in Erie Colorado for the first time in 27 years they lived in a house. Bill continued to travel and ride his Harley into his mid 80's. Bill's interests included anything technical, buses, aviation, cowboy boots and fine guitars. Bill, was an accomplished craftsman and artist with metal, woodworking, and all mechanical things. He loved his garden and planted tomatoes he refused to eat. Bill's passions were for his family, God and Country. He was a true Patriot who loved Oklahoma Sooners Football and his Savior Jesus Christ. Bill is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Brad & Suzi Hendrix of Gunbarrel, and daughter Dana Hendrix and son in law, Eric Hepker of Erie. Steven Michael Higgins died in his home in Erie, Colorado of natural causes on August 4th, 2023. He was 66 years old. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jannene Renae Higgins, his two daughters Renae Jeanette Higgins and Teresa Marie Higgins. His four Grandsons Isaiah Michael Higgins, Elijah Mitchell Higgins, James Paul Higgins and Trinh Jarvis Higgins. His mother Joan DuVall Swink. His father Stanley Higgins. His brother Bryan Higgins. His nephews and nieces Joe Olin, Kody Olin, Ross Higgins, Ashley higgins, Amber Higgins. Andrew Higgins, James Higgins, Tyler Higgins. He was preceded in death by his brother Sam Higgins and Kevin Higgins. He was born September 8th 1956 in Denver, Colorado. He grew up in Denver Colorado and Owasso Oklahoma. He raised horses as a child and participated in shows and rodeos. In high school he was an award-winning wrestler. Then worked at an exotic pet shop (where he got his monkey, snakes, and exotic fish and love for aquariums) when he was a young teenager with the store owner/mentor/best friend Ron Fell. He then went on to learn the brick block and stone trade from his father. He met Jannene in jr. high school and they started their 51 year relationship. They married in 1975 and had their first daughter Renae in 1978 and their second child Teresa in 1980. From 1977 until 2007 he was a stone mason and built many buildings around the Denver metro area and Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Washington dc area. Retired in 2007 due to back injury on the job. He was a very family-oriented man. He spent his days hanging out with his grandsons anytime he could get the chance. He raised and bred dogs. He loved loud music of all genres. He loved wolves. He loved rare things and oddities. He was a collector of memorabilia. He had a big sense of humor and could be a funny guy or rule with an iron fist when it came to taking care of business. He was a very generous man who would offer you anything he had if you needed it. He will be greatly missed by those who really knew him. Jeanne Marie Jones, 66 of Erie, Colorado passed away on. . . She was born on July 24, 1956 to George and Margaret Deslongchamp. She grew up in Garden City, Kansas where she met the love of her life Michael Dean Jones at Garden City Juco. They were married on May 21, 1977. They moved to Colorado where they created a beautiful life together and raised their four children, Lara, Kristen, Kyle and Lyndi. As Executive Director of Heritage House Ministries, Jeanne had an amazing impact on countless lives. Jeanne was a beloved wife, mother to many, nana, aunt and friend. She was full of gratitude for her many blessings. She will be remembered for her love of her family, sunsets, beach vacations, wine, margaritas, her delicious home cooked meals, her love of the game show network, her affection for good romance novels, her squirrels, and birds that she fed daily, her undeniable beauty, her spunk and desire to celebrate everything, her strong faith, her hugs and many "I Love You More's" She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Michael Dean Jones - Her daughter Lara Veve-spouse Eric, daughter Kristen Ereno- spouse Patrick, son Kyle Jones and daughter Lyndi Jones. She has 5 grandchildren, Madyson Veve, Mariah Veve, Mason Veve, Maverick Ereno, and Mia Ereno.
