Roberta R. Faber, 82, of Grand Detour, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling, IL. She worked as a Registered Nurse for various locations including: Dixon State School, Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital and Lee County Health Department prior to her retirement in 2002. Roberta was born December 4, 1939, in West Brooklyn, IL, the daughter of Leroy and Catherine (Bulfer) Hahn. She married Roland "Rollie" Faber on August 23, 1958, in Killeen, TX. Roberta enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, quilting, cooking and traveling. Most of all she loved being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Roland "Rollie" Faber of Grand Detour; two children, Lisa (Eldon) Nice of Morrison, IL, Mark Faber of Dixon; three grandchildren, Evan (Lupe) Burchett, Brandy Faber, Leah Nice; two great-grandchildren, Victoria Burchett, Benjamin Burchett; one brother, Francis Hahn of Mendota; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; and five sisters, Joanne Chames, Virginia Schnell, Marion Boland, Carol Robinson and Bonnie Sornberger. Memorial Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon with Pastor Craig Sipes, officiating. Burial will be at Grand Detour Cemetery in Grand Detour at a later date. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorials may be directed to Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
