Robert E White, 79, passed away at home on October 6, 2023 in Alto New Mexico surrounded by his loving family after a yearlong struggle with cancer He was born March 26, 1944 in Alamogordo, NM to Andrew and Helen (Goforth) White Survivors include his wife, Kitty White of the family home, his son, Todd (Felicia) White of Albuquerque, his daughter Micki (Sean) Gabaldon of Belen, and his son Gary (Lucinda) of Denver He has six beautiful grandchildren, Quinn, Nathan, Catherine, Preston, and twins Jonathan and Lucas He will also be missed by many nephews, nieces and cousins He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Helen White, brother Andy, and sister, Jeanette, as well as his in-laws Dr Jerry and Barbara Birdwell Robert "Bob" White was a beloved dentist Having started his practice in 1972 he touched the lives of many patients over the years Growing up in the area, Bob started school at the "red brick school house" in Tularosa before transferring to North school in second grade His Family home was at the corner of Washington and 10th street He road his bike, went to occasional movies and enjoyed his cousins and family Bob started playing in the band in sixth grade He asked fellow band member Kitty Birdwell on a date in December of 1960 and graduated from Alamogordo HS in 1962 They attended New Mexico State University and were married in 1965 Having obtained his Doctorate of Dentistry from Creighton University he applied his skills as a Captain in the U S Army from 1970 to 1972 before returning to Alamogordo to establish his practice Over the years he moved from a modest building with a leaky roof to a beautiful building he designed He and Kitty built a thriving practice based on kindness and quality care He was a proud member of the Alamogordo Rotary Club Through Rotary he, Dr Don Ham and Jim Harris established the Mexico Medical Project joining other Alamogordo medical professionals to provide impoverished Mexican villages with dental and medical services Bob was a reserved man but a wealth of history and knowledge once engaged He enjoyed golf in Alto, woodworking in his shop, traveling, hunting, camping and fishing He could be counted on to welcome family and friends with a warm smile and a good bottle of wine He and Kitty were very proud and involved grandparents; Bobs legacy lives on through them Inurnment will be celebrated at St Jude Parish Columbarium on Friday, October 13 at 11 am, with a luncheon to follow at the church Parish Hall The White family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the services Should friends desire, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association To to the family or in memory of Robert E White, please

Mrs. Pauline (Pablita) Sanchez-Chavez passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023, at the age of 98. Pauline was a devout catholic, she taught catechism, loved sharing Jesus, the bible, and the rosary to all whom she encountered. She was a loving mother to her son, Refugio; her daughters, Vigil, Margaret, Jasmine, and she also raised Natalie. She has 6 grandchildren, Monique, Nathan, Tasha, Julian, Shane, and Sandra. Pauline was also a very proud great grandmother of Keesha, Alexis, Emerald, Talynn, Zack, Paul, Emeleigh, Marissa, Anahi, Daniel, Brianna, Matthew, Jacob, Isaisas, Angelita, Marco, Kalani, and Aubriel; and great-great grandmother to Romeo and Kayden; as well as numerous other children who called her grandma. She also leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and also the many great friends she made over the years whom she considered family. Pauline was born on April 13, 1925, (May 13,1925) in Pinos Wells, New Mexico to Patrocinio and Tomasita Sanchez. She married the love of her life Natalio Chavez on January 13, 1950, and were married for 68 years until his passing. Pauline had 7 children burying two babies at birth, Evelyn Louise and Mary Helen; son, Wilford at 6 months; and son, Fernando who was 49; she also buried her newborn grandson, Patrick and adult grandson, Nathaniel. Since she was a young lady, Pauline was known for her big heart, her love of dancing and praying the Rosario. She was a resilient, selfless lady who took care of others and was known for cooking great meals for all who entered her "cocina". Her family will miss her dearly; her kind spirit, gentle eyes, smile, and her consejos (wise words). She was preceded in death by numerous family members, in her words before she passed away, "Una Carga" (too many to count). Pallbearers include Julian Serna, Nathan Portillo, Paul McDaniel, Shane Rohlfshagen, Alex Green, Daniel Calderon, and Zachary Chavez. Honorary pallbearers are David Baca, Don Sanchez, Abe Sanchez, and Natividad (Jr. ) Sanchez. Visitation and Rosary for Pauline will be held from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm, Friday, December 8, 2023, at Santa Rita Catholic Church with Mass to be celebrated at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow services at Santa Rita Catholic Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Carrizozo Women's Club. Jacqueline Anne Moretz, known to her loved ones as Jackie, went to Heaven on November 20, 2023, at the age of 62. She was born on June 23, 1961, in Alexandria, Virginia. Jackie was a woman of unwavering kindness, possessing a big heart that always put others before herself. She had a selfless nature and would go to great lengths to help those around her. Whether it was offering a lending hand or providing words of encouragement, Jackie was always there for her loved ones, friends and even strangers. Family held a very special place in her heart, and she cherished their presence in her life. In her professional life, Jackie dedicated herself to serving others as both a paid and volunteer Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate. Her commitment to helping those in need was evident in her career choice, as she played an instrumental role in providing emergency care to those in distress. Left to Cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Tony Moretz; her children, Michael Enoch (Desiree Enoch), Christopher Murrin (Danielle Murrin), Sarah Toscano (Javier Toscano), and Morgan Moretz. Mrs. Catherine (Torres) Leon passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, at the age of 87. Known by all as Katy, she is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Reyes Leon. Katy was a loving mother to three sons, Michael Leon, Edward (Karen) Leon, and Victor (Cynthia) Leon. She had nine grandchildren, Johnathan, Tina, Lisa, Lynda Joy, Anthony, Mychael, Andrew, Isaac, and Adrian. She was also a proud and loving great grandmother to two great granddaughters and ten great grandsons. Her youngest sister, Nancy Jo Ball also survives her. She leaves her dear nieces, nephews and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Serafin and Nancy Torres, and her sisters, Mary, Helen, Carmen, and Rebecca. Katy was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico on October 2, 1936, and graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1954. She married Airman Reyes Leon in 1955 when he was stationed at Holloman AFB. He was the love of her life. Reyes and Katy created a legacy of love and taught their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren devotion and dedication. She will be greatly missed and will remain in the hearts of her many beloved family members and friends forever. Katy was an accomplished businesswoman and skilled artist. She collaborated with her husband on many beautiful artistic creations, with roses and the Virgin of Guadalupe being central to many of their works. Katy was an avid reader and was the good luck charm at the casino. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook, making tamales for many Christmases and countless burritos and tostadas for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her elegance was complemented by her fashion sense, and she embraced modern technology. Katy cherished her sisters and their families. She was one of six girls who all loved to sit together and chat, reminiscing about their early Chihuahuita days. She loved to have her family visit and kept a lifetime of pictures and photographs throughout her home. Despite health challenges as a young mother, Katy persevered and took great care of her health. Her family was blessed to have her in their lives for so many years. She was a strong woman whose presence will continue to be felt in the lives of all of those who loved her. Katy was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she, her husband and sons worshipped for many years. Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM, followed by Rosary at 10:30 AM. Louis Frank DeLeon passed away on November 26, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, and uncle; devoted to his family and a true friend to many. Louis was born October 28, 1940, in Crowley, Colorado to Evangelista Duran DeLeon and Pablo DeLeon and the 2nd oldest of four siblings: Ramona Garcia (Alfred), Abraham DeLeon (Margie), and Mercedes Melendrez (Joe). In 1959 he married the love of his life, Petronela (Pat) Vigil and they made their home in Alamogordo. They were married for 62 years until her passing in July 2022. He is survived by his six children: Teri DeLeon (Randy), Ronnie DeLeon-Dowd (Michael), Frankie DeLeon (Kim), Richard DeLeon, Patrick DeLeon (Janice), and Graciella DeLeon; as well as his 18 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Louis enjoyed being around his family; whether he was camping, hunting, playing cards, dancing, playing hide n seek, starting water or sock fights, or playing the organ and singing at home. He was a lifelong musician, playing the trumpet in the high school band, then playing the trumpet and organ in a band (one of the bands being the Rhythm Kings). He also sang and put together one CD where all instruments and vocals were his own. He loved talking about his childhood friends and other friendships he developed over the years. He loved visiting people and spent a lot of time at Walmart where he always saw someone he knew or would just strike up a conversation with a stranger. He loved having family and friends at the house. Louis worked at Holloman AFB and other jobs in Alamogordo, but the job he loved the most was his job as the Director of the Boys and Girls Club for almost 20 years. Known as Mr. D, he was an advocate for the youth. He started when the club was just the Boys Club, then the Boys & Girls Club. Mr. D did what he could to make the club a safe haven for the kids to go to. Mr. D had many hats as the Director of the Boys and Girls Club. He was the stern one, the advocate, and father figure to many of the members. Some say he was the father figure they never had. One said that Mr. D gave them reason to believe in himself. He gave himself unselfishly. He has made a difference in many lives that went to the Boys and Girls Club. He was coach, referee and had one of the best basketball programs in town along with the best coaches in town. He made sure the community was involved when it came to the Boys & Girls Club. He would make sure the community would donate to the club and would have businesses sponsor all the teams on the basketball program. He made proposals to get grants for the Boys and Girls Club with one grant leading to the Boys and Girls Club being built in its current location. Louis is preceded in death by his wife, Pat Vigil DeLeon; his mother, Evangelista Duran DeLeon; his father, Pablo DeLeon; his sister, Ramona DeLeon Garcia; and his great granddaughter, Kayleigh DeLeon. The DeLeon family has entrusted their loved one to Alamogordo Funeral Home for the remembrance of our dear Louis DeLeon. Orlo L. Parker passed away peacefully at the hospital ICU in Alamogordo, New Mexico on November 14, 2023, at the age of 86. Orlo was born in Wichita, Kansas on July 16, 1937, to Jessie Wanda, and Orlo V Parker. Orlo grew up in Wichita where he attended school, worked, and at the age of 19 joined the Air Force. He loved and honored his country by spending 23 years in the Air Force and retiring as an E7 Master Sergeant. While in the Air Force, Orlo and his wife, Eloise, traveled and enjoyed many parts of the world such as France, the Azores, Vietnam, Spain, Portugal, and Germany being stationed at several of these places. Orlo was Post Commander of the VFW Post 7686 in Alamogordo 2 terms and served as State Commander for the VFW making history as he and his wife Eloise became State Commanders; at the same time, Eloise as State commander for the VFW Auxiliary. After retiring from the Air Force in 1979, Orlo went to work for Holloman Air Force base spending 32 years as a civilian and retiring in 2010, spending 55 years between the Air Force and Civil Service. Orlo, a loving husband, friend and mentor, is preceded in death by his spouse, Eloise B. Parker who passed on November 20, 2019, both of his parents, and several dear friends. He is survived by sister-in-law, Sally Torres; cousin, Barbara Jean; his cousins/caregivers, Virginia and Frank Franko; very good friend, Georgene; dear friends, Debbie and Louie Reyes and Sandra and Dennis Trujillo; as well as many, many dear and beloved friends. Urn bearers include Frank Franko, Louie Reyes, and Dennis Trujillo. Honorary pallbearers are Marty Capasse, Terry Kelley, Forest Mcguinnes (Mac), Daniel Johnson, and Steve Perez, along with many other friends. Wreatha Bernice Senier joined our Heavenly Father July 31, 2023. She was born in Missouri on November 17, 1934. She proudly worked since she was 11 years old and often said "she never had a job she did not like. " She made Alamogordo home in 1957, and worked for Sheffield's Furniture, Brockwood Furniture, Wood Country and Route 54 for many years. Wreatha loved reading, cooking, knitting and playing cards. she was an avid "cheerleader" for everyone's favorite teams and a loyal friend. Wreatha was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 57 years, Doral Eugene Senier and her parents, Joe and Melba Jones. She is survived by her three daughters, Vicki Seaman, Kim Messer, and Lisa Mullins; three wonderful sons-in-law and three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a loving sister and brother-in-law and countless nieces, nephews and friends. She is missed beyond words but will live on in the hearts of all the people she crossed paths with.
