Bob Timmons, 90 of Davenport, lowa, passed away on September 10,2023, at the Kahl Home. Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be 10:30 a. m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Blue Grass. Burial with military honors will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Assumption High School or St. Anthony’s Care and Share Program. Robert "Bob" Roosevelt Timmons was born on April 25, 1933 to William and Mary Ellen Timmons of Wheeling, Missouri. Growing up on a small farm in north central Missouri, he was the eighth and youngest child, and was especially doted on by his four older sisters. Bob always spoke fondly of his faithful dog Laddie, and often relayed stories of childhood memories with his loyal friend. After Bob graduated high school at 16 years old, he proudly served his country in the Korean War with the US Army before coming home and attending and graduating from the University of Missouri. It was at this time of his life that he met and married the love of his life, Joan Phillips of Chula, Missouri. They were married in Chula on June 9, 1956, and in the years to come were blessed with 7 children, 5 boys and 2 girls. Bob started his career working for John Deere. During the span of his 27-year career with the company, he took on many different roles and moved with his family several times, until eventually retiring in 1986. Bob then started a new career with Edward Jones as a financial advisor in 1987, setting up the first office for Edward Jones in Davenport. His many gifts were highlighted in this career with his unique ability to serve and connect with his clients. Bob was a wonderful example of servant leadership, volunteering his time to his parish finance committee, Fr. Conroy's Vineyard of Hope, Marquette Academy and Assumption High School. He spent many hours visiting those in hospice and preparing meals for the Davenport homeless. Bob's greatest joy was his wife and family, and he exemplified a man of great faith and conviction. His strength of character was admirable, and his dedication to his family unparalleled. Countless hours were spent supporting his children, then grandchildren in their various sporting and musical events. Whether reading a story or retelling a childhood memory, Bob was a master storyteller and would captivate his audience with his animated and detailed descriptions. In retelling stories of old, he had a unique ability to share his childhood in a way that brought the memories to life. Every Christmas, as was his tradition, Bob would sit and don a Santa hat and read from the book "Twas the Night Before Christmas" with grandchildren lovingly gathered at his feet listening intently. His Irish heritage was very important to him and he celebrated St. Patrick's Day with the pride of an ol' Irishman. He loved poetry and music, especially old country music and sad Irish ballads. His grip was like iron, and he was well known for his intensely strong handshake. He was a strong and proud man of great integrity, tough and no nonsense but with an incredibly generous heart. He was a great leader, a man of his word, a friend to all and he was well known to end a goodbye with "You're as welcome as the flowers in May". He left an indelible mark on all those who met him, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Bob is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Joan, married for 67 years and their seven children, Bob (Ann) Timmons, Kansas City, Kansas, Mike (Mary) Timmons, Des Moines, Iowa, Bill Timmons, Wheatland, Iowa, Beth (Dan) Laubenthal, Davenport, Iowa, Mary Nelle (Chris-deceased) Wessling, Denton, Texas, John (Dawn) Timmons, Davenport, Iowa, Dan (Kelly) Timmons, Davenport, Iowa; 26 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Casey Robert Krager, at the age of 18, was tragically lost on Friday December 1st in a car accident. As strong as Casey was, as tough as Casey was, the collision was something that he could not overcome. To celebrate Casey's life, there will be a visitation at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bettendorf from 10am until the time of service at 1pm. The address is 3775 Middle Road. In lieu of flowers, memories can left to Platelet Disorder Support Association, "PDSA", or the Iowa Stead Family Childrens Hospital. Online condolences may be expressed at www. weertfh. com. Casey was born on March 16, 2005, to Jeffrey Krager and Nadine Fetters. Casey graduated from Bettendorf High School in 2023 and was enrolled at the University of Iowa at the time of the accident. Casey was a remarkably talented young man. He possessed all the attributes parents would want and desire from their child. He was kind, polite, athletic, funny, smart, and more than anything, beautiful on both the inside and outside. Casey had passion for baseball and thrived at becoming a better player, but more than anything, a better teammate. He was unselfish. He was reliable. He was a hard worker. He was positive. He was good. But more than anything, he was a leader and a role model to a lot of people. The only thing Casey loved more than baseball was his friends, family, and more than anything, he loved his brother Cooper the most. I think that everyone, young and old, looked up to Casey at one point and time, just because he was that kind of kid. As a parent just said to me, "You always knew when Casey was in the room because he lit it up immediately. " No truer words have been spoken. To have known Casey was an honor to most, to be Caseys parents, was a blessing that will never be matched. Survivors include his parents Jeffrey (Lonni) Krager, Nadine (Brad) Fetters, and brother Cooper Krager. Grandparents Alan (Jackie) Krager, Robert Peterson, Beverly Galetti, Tom Gillmore. Stepsisters Samantha and Sydney Fetters. Uncle Justin (Danielle) Krager. Aunt Nicole (Robert) Garrigues. Cousins Brady and Kamryn Krager, AJ Garrigues and Mitchell (Katherine) Celik Jennifer (Paul) Holsclaw, Jessica (Dennis) Michiels. Great aunt Christine (Abe) Celik. Great uncle Ed (Lynne) Peterson. And of course, his beloved pets, Sammy, Louie, Benson and Charlie.Show more

Rose (Rosalyn Ellis) was born in 1934 in Randolph, NE. She grew up on a farm until moving to town, Wayne, NE when she was in fifth grade. Rosie (as she was called) was very active in school activities – especially music. Rosie graduated from high school in 1951 and then enrolled at Wayne State Teachers’ College. She graduated in 1954 with a double major in elementary education and home economics. She married Kenneth Nuernberger in January 1954. Rose taught elementary school in El Paso, TX (while Ken was in the Army); Ute, IA; and Hinsdale, IL. She attended Gifted and Talented seminars and had much pleasure in teaching her students (all of them) to be fluent and flexible thinkers. Creativity was emphasized in every part of the curriculum. She retired from teaching in 1990 after teaching twenty-five years. She and her husband moved to Bettendorf, IA to live closer to one of their sons and his family. It was a very good decision in many ways. They started a nursing home craft ministry and it grew into twenty-one years of bringing joy and cheer to lots of people. Rose also made five hundred scrapbooks – of all different sorts. Rose was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church. She especially enjoyed helping the people feel welcome. In her younger years, she sang in the choir and played the organ. She and her husband always enjoyed the different Bible study sessions that were available. She was a member of P. E. O. Chapter LM. In addition to her music activities, Rose enjoyed reading, writing, doing crafts projects, and watercolor painting.
