Robert Cecil Thompson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away on September 6, 2023, at the age of 91 in Ocala, FL. He was born on July 21, 1932, in Wausau, WI, to the late Robert and Cecil Thompson. Robert, known to his loved ones as Bob, led a remarkable life filled with love, happiness, and accomplishments. Bob graduated from high school in Baraga, MI and went on to pursue a bachelor's Degree, setting the foundation for a successful career as an engineering manager for Motorola. While Bob's professional achievements were exceptional, his true legacy rests within his role as a family man. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and adoring husband to his wife of 70 years, Irene Thompson. Irene survives and resides in Ocala, FL. Bob was also a loving father to his daughters, Julia Thompson of Wausau and Patricia (Earl) Quick of San Antonio, TX. Bob is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a sister Marilyn (Don) Rauschel of Green Bay. In addition to his family, Bob will be fondly remembered by a wide circle of friends. Bob was preceded in death by sisters Grace Juris and Sally Geiger, and brothers Richard Thompson, William Thompson, and Jack Thompson. Bob proudly served in the Army from 1953-1961. His dedication, bravery, and sacrifice will forever be acknowledged and remembered. Bob was an active member of the College Road Baptist Church in Ocala, FL where he was a deacon and member of the choir. His strong belief in God guided him throughout his life, providing him with strength and compassion for others. The funeral service to honor and celebrate Bob's life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Bob's son-in-law Earl Quick officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Following the service, Bob will be laid to rest at Bent Cemetery in Bryant where military honors will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to cancer research. Bob will be deeply missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory serve as an inspiration for us all to live our lives with kindness, compassion, and love.

Anita A. Wruck, 93 of Wittenberg, died on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Anita was born on December 20, 1929, in Antigo, the daughter of Arnold & Alma (Schuette) Luechau. Anita and her family moved back to Germany when Anita was three. At the age of 17, Anita came back to the United States and settled in Wittenberg with Clara & Carl Kroeger as her guardians. Anita was united in marriage to Roger O. Schmidt on May 7, 1949, in Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1974. The couple owned and operated the former Schmidt Funeral Home & Furniture Store in Wittenberg for many years, turning over the reigns in 1975. On May 2, 1981, Anita then married DeWayne A. Wruck in Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2007. Anita was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg and was a member of the Ladies Aid and the LWML. Anita loved to watch the news and her soaps. She also liked watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Anita was an active Bridge Club and Canasta Club member for many years. She was also an American Legion Auxiliary Bloecher Johnson Post 502 member. Anita enjoyed golf and was a past member of Maple Hills Golf Course in Wittenberg. Anita was a wonderful cook and made the best sugar cookies. Whenever you saw her carrying a coffee can, you knew what was inside. Anita cherished her family and the time spent together. Anita is survived by her children David (Shirley) Schmidt, Bonita Springs, FL, Donald (Jennifer) Schmidt, Kaukauna, Rosalind (Robert) Stanke, Fort Myers, FL and Jeanne (Hugh Hamilton) Schmidt, Neenah; son-in-law, Kenneth Blakewell, Wittenberg; grandchildren, David 'Benji' (Jennifer) Schmidt, Andrea (Craig Bernstein) Schmidt, Jonathan (Marianne) Schmidt, Danielle Lawinger, Jessica (Ryan) McDonald, Cal (Kasey) Stanke, Clara (Daren) Effertz, Molly (Sara Briggs) Blakewell, and Kayla (Ben) Vosters; Great Grandchildren, Cora (Alex) Eberius, Katelyn Schmidt, Gavin Schmidt, Nathan & Emery Bernstein, London Lawinger, Sophia, Sam & Max McDonald, Lyla, Bree & Gwen Stanke, and Bennett & Norah Vosters; Great Great Grandchildren, Benjamin, Leland, Brannon & Landry Eberius, and Elijah & Adah Hauber. She is further survived by two nieces, Julie Schepp and Carla (Bill) Staszak and their families; stepsons, Ronald (Judy) Wruck and Jim (Louisa) Wruck, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Anita was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Roger Schmidt & DeWayne Wruck; daughter, Mary Ann Blakewell; brother, Arnold (Janet) Luechau; two great-grandchildren, Evan & Natalie Bernstein; nephews, Tim Luechau & Al Schepp; stepdaughter, Lynn Klatt, step-daughter-in-law, Maryann Wruck, step granddaughter, Tammy Klatt and a step great-grandson, Miles Wruck. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Matthew Christians will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Alexander Grant Hintz, 36 years young, entered into his heavenly home Saturday, November 18, 2023 surrounded by his family and in the loving arms of his courageous wife while at UW Health Hospital following another fierce and lionhearted battle against cancer. Alex was born on March 9th, 1987 to Keith "Rueben" Hintz and the late Sharon Kay (Grant) Hintz. A 2005 graduate of Antigo High School, Alex went on to pursue and receive a bachelor's degree in education from UW Stevens Point. His passion second only to his family, were his students and athletes that he both taught and coached. He loved teaching physical education and coaching various sports within the Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District. Alex was united in marriage to Carrie Ann Robinson, the love of his life, on June 9, 2018. Their marriage was joyfully blessed with a beautiful daughter, Jacelynn Kay, on January 26, 2023. Family and friends meant the world to him. He held very near and dear to his heart his daughter and his fur kids Miss Kitty, Kevin, and Jolene. Alex's unwavering drive and zest for life transpired with everyone he was around. Alex always went out of his way to help others even when he was not having the best day. His humor was contagious to all those around him especially when he had control of the juke box. He enjoyed being creative with art and drawing, he had a passion for music, sports of all kinds, and watching hockey with his daughter. Alex will forever be missed and remembered by his wife Carrie, daughter Jacelynn Kay, father Keith "Reuben" (Maxine) Hintz of Deerbrook, brother Nathan (Karen) Hintz of Wausau, nephew and godson Brantley Alexander Hintz, grandmother Helen Hintz of Antigo, father-in-law Carl Robinson of Wausau, sister-in-law Sarah (Aaron) Koszarek of Elcho, nieces Ellie and Kara Koszarek. Alex is further survived and loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless amazing friends. Alex was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon, grand-father Rueben Hintz, grandparents John and Betty Grant, mother-in-law Brenda Kay Robinson, "grandma" Pat Schmidt, and "grandpa" Harold Schmidt. A celebration of life and visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26th at Northstar Lanes from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a moment for people to share their stories and memories of Alex starting at 6:30pm. A memorial service will be held on Monday November 27th at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo with Reverend David Karolus and Jeff Nielson officiating. A short visitation will take place at 9:30 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alex's name may be directed to his family. Terry L. Neal, of White Lake, formerly of Laurium, MI, passed away peacefully and surrounded by friends and family, on November 20, 2023 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital at the age of 65. Terry was born on July 22, 1958 in Antigo to the late William Neal and Jane (Pacer) Stewart. Terry attended Michigan Tech and received a degree in forestry from St. Claire County Community College. On July 28, 1979, he married his high school sweetheart, Wendy Horzewski, at Smokey Falls in the Menominee Reservation. The two built their life together in Laurium, Michigan where they shared a career in childcare. He had a special place in his heart for each child he cared for in the 28 years of being a childcare provider. Following retirement, Terry and Wendy settled in their hometown of White Lake. Terry loved the quietness of the outdoors and hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Terry is survived by daughters Jennifer (Chuck) Dura of West Bend, WI and Anna Neal (Mike Mallette) of Parrish, FL, sisters Kathy Fyre of Dubuque, IA and Cindy Neal of Lake Linden, MI, his precious grandchildren Caiden, Breylin, Skye, Bodhi, and Esme, special friend Mike West and family as well as many other family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by a sister, nephew, and 3 brothers-in-law. In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. Samuel Wayne Wierzba passed away on October 28, 2023 at home, surrounded by family and under the care of LeRoyer Hospice, following a short, but brave battle with Cancer in which he had hope until the very end. He was 48 years old. Sam was born on May 31, 1975 in Menomonee Falls, son of Frank Sr. and Althea (Blanchette) Wierzba. Sam married the love of his life, Angie Bricko, on March 21, 2014 in Antigo. Following high school, Sam went on to train as a journeyman carpenter, most recently working for Appleton Lathing Corporation. Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with family, which often included a day of garage sales or driving them wherever they may need. Sam was known to always lend a helping hand. He was a hard worker and always willing to help with projects. In addition to his parents and wife, Sam is survived by children Shana (Brad) Volkman, Casey Anstutz (Dillen), Alexis Holland (Blake), Maddie Wierzba, and Marcus Wierzba, grandchildren Bentley, Micah, Baby Volkman, and Baby Clara, mother-in-law Ruth Bricko, siblings Dawn Whitney, James (Lisa) O'laughlin, Steven (Sigrid) O'laughlin, Nikki (Jeff 'Clyde') Nievinski, Kurt (Megan) Wierzba, Audra (Jamie) Deruchowski, Megan (Dana) Faulks, Jake (Dezi) Wierzba, and Jim Kolinski and sister-in-law Cassie Wierzba. Sam was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Jr, sister Kelly, grandson Jaxson, father-in-law Don, and biological mother Nancy. During Sam's battle with cancer, he asked a favor. He said if things didn't go well and he was called to be with Jesus, he asked that we honor him by showing kindness to all. When we see someone struggling, be the hand to help them. You never know how the universe is using you to answer someone's prayers. A memorial service for Sam will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Antigo with Pastor Fletcher Larson officiating. Visitation will take place at the church, prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
