Mary Kinnear

Mary Cundari Kinnear passed peacefully at the age of 85 on
November 30, 2023, at her home in York Harbor, Maine, surrounded by
loving family and friends.
Mary was born in Boston, MA, on December 9, 1937, the daughter of
Clarence J. Hill and Catherine M. Nolan, and was raised in Medrod, MA.
Mary attended Malden Hospital Nursing School, graduating with her RN
in 1958. She later attended George Mason University earning her
Bachelor's Degree in 1981. Mary worked as a nurse and healthcare
professional for over 40 years in various capacities as an ER/ICU nurse,
ward nurse, school nurse, professional medical consultant, and elder
care ombudsman for the State of Maine. Mary was an accomplished gymnast in her youth, was an avid reader, loved to travel, was fond of
listening to classical music, and was a competitive bridge player. A wonderful cook, Mary was known as a most gracious hostess. She was an active member of the St. Christopher's Catholic Church Social
Justice and Peace Commission and contributed to the Table of Plenty
Community Kitchen, becoming known as the "Meatloaf Lady" for her
wildly popular recipe.
Mary married Francis Cundari (Commander, USN; PhD) of South
Boston, MA, in 1958 having three children, Stephen, Christine, and
David. Francis died in an aviation accident in 1971, and Mary remarried
in 1984 to George "Gus" Kinnear (Admiral, USN; PhD) from Brooksville,
FL, who predeceased Mary in 2015. Mary is also predeceased by her
brothers, Joseph, Kenneth, Robert, and Clarence Hill. Mary is survived
by her brother, Edwin "Butch" Hill (Kathleen) of Topsfield, MA, and
children, Stephen (Susan), Christina (David), and David Cundari;
Grandchildren Matthew (Blair), Bradley, and Kyle; and great-
grandchildren Alexis and Max. Mary is also survived by Gus' children,
Nanook, Kevin, Douglas (Terry), and Holley; grandchildren Ethan,
Felice, Mikaela, Alyssa, Bryony, Amberly, and Siera; and great-
grandchildren Manoa, Stella, Silas, Scotia, Dylan, Basil, Elliott, and
Coralie.
Mary was a loving, warm, kind, and generous mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, wife, and friend, and will be forever remembered in
our hearts.
