Robert Steely Jr Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert H. Steely, Jr. on April 9, 2023 at the age of 57. Robert is survived by his wife, Donna Steely of 29 years; children Amber Steely and special friend Scott Taylor, Ashley Fisher and husband Mark, and son Slater Steely and special friend Victoria Ortiz; grandchildren Hannah Fisher, Harper Fisher, and Silas Fisher, nieces Emily Nichols, Emily Riggleman, Brooke Riggleman, Jessie Thornton, Jody Thornton, nephews Blake Steely, Camden Steely, and Ashton Steely. He is also survived by his brothers, Chad Steely and wife Kristin, and Chris Steely and wife Mary Kay. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page honoring Robert and to share with family. Robert was born August 13, 1965 in Houston, Texas to Robert H. Steely, Sr. and Patricia A. Steely. He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1983 and joined the Army thereafter. He soon became a Military Police Specialist with the 204 Military Police Company, West Germany. He also served in Desert Storm of Kuwait. Upon his discharge he returned to Elkhart and worked for TDCJ and retired after 22 years. He obtained his TCLEOSE and also joined the Anderson County Sheriff's Department before his retirement with TDCJ. Things were never too serious because Robert loved life. He always liked to laugh and joke and he really loved to dance. He also loved his family and would do anything for anyone. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece Katherine Steely. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
