Jessica A. Muniz, 73, of Allentown died Monday, February 26, 2024 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown Campus. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anna Ann Lewis. She was a graduate of Khyber High School, Matawan, NJ. She was an executive assistant at Becton Dickinson, New Jersey after graduation. She then was a civil servant for the State of New Jersey for many years before retiring in 2015. In her spare time she enjoyed making jewelry and watching the Hallmark channel. Jessica was a fan of the Twilight movies and the actor who portrayed Edward. Her interest in her heritage, especially her Native American side, was something she loved to share with her family. Jessica loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors: Sons, Carlos A. Harriett C. Hargrove

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Harriett C. Hargrove, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on February 24, 2024. Harriett was born into the family of Chester and Harrie Lee Coleman on April 5, 1950, in Austin, Texas. At the age of three, she moved to Camden, NJ. She was educated by the Camden City School District, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1968. Harriett was known to be an outstanding student in addition to being on the varsity cheerleading squad for three years. From there, she attended Camden County Community College, culminating her higher education at Rowan University with a degree in Home Economics in 1972. She started her career as a Home Economics educator at Hatch Middle School of Camden, NJ. From the time she was in middle school, up until marriage, she was the pianist for the Sunday School choir at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. In 1972, Harriett began to question the meaning and purpose of her life leading to her faith in Christ. Her life was substantially changed by the ministry of the Campus Crusaders making her a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. In the summer of 1973, Harriett met Bob Hargrove, a bible college student. They were married in the summer of 1975. They began their union in Hatfield, PA while Bob completed his seminary training. This marriage created seven sons and one daughter. In 1979, the family moved to Allentown, PA and started Faith Baptist Church. Harriett served as the pianist and Sunday school teacher for many years. Harriett is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Robert Hargrove. She is also survived by her eight children: Robert, Steven, David, Daniel, Andrew, Michael (Leslie), Christopher and Gloria (Vincent). Harriett was a beloved grandmother to nine grandchildren: Mackensey, Blake, Ava, Mariah, Andrew, Cameron, Michael, Iyla, and Siena. She is also survived by her mother, Harrie Lee Coleman, sister, Mary Byrd (Arnold), brother, Robert Coleman, Aunt Arzulia O’Neal, Aunt Myrtis Ates, and a host of nieces and nephews. Harriett was preceded in death by her father, Chester Coleman, sister, Louise and daughter-in-law, Katlyn. We were blessed to have Harriett with us here for many years and gratefully release her into the hands of our loving, heavenly Father. Albert A Lewis

Albert A Lewis, DVM passed away January 26, 2024 at the age of 92. He graduated from the University of Illinois Veterinary School with High Honors. He and his wife Hilda Lewis built a 4 veterinary practice consisting of cattle, horses and domestic pets in Woodstown, NJ. In 1988 the veterinary practice was sold, and they moved to the Adirondack Park in northern New York. Previously he was leader of the Al Lewis and the Delaware Valley Rangers Band and in the United States Coast Guard. While retired in the Adirondack Park he continued to practice veterinary medicine part time. When not working, his days were spent hiking, achieving his goal of becoming a 46er and fishing. When not in the great outdoors he was playing his guitar, singing in the Saranac Lake Presbyterian Church Choir; he served as President of the Saranac Lake Rotary Club 1993-1994, Program Organizer for the Adirondack Mountain Club, board member of North Country Home Services and the Santa Clara Variance Board. In 2012 He and Hilda moved to Allentown, PA to spend time with their children and grandchildren. He is survived by his 2 daughters Rebecca MacDonald (Husband John MacDonald, children Emma & Ian) and Linda Lewis as well as his son Daryl Lewis. He is predeceased by his devoted wife Hilda Lewis, his father Albert Lewis, mother Emma Lewis and brother Robert Lewis. A visitation will be held on Saturday March 9th, 2024 from 10:00 am – 10:45 am and a Memorial Service starting at 11:00 am at Christ Church, King of Prussia, 501 Swedesford Rd Wayne, PA 19087. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Albert’s memory to either the First Presbyterian Church of Saranac Lake, NY or Adirondack Mountain Club.

She was employed by FedEx and then Merck Pharmaceuticals in Rahway, NJ, where she retired. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 24 years, Charles Birchett; parents William and Rosa Morings; sister, Jessie Dillard; brothers Russel Morings, William Morings, Vernon Morings, and Frank Morings. She leaves behind 3 sons, Samuel Jacobs, Jr., Aaron Jacobs, and Nathaniel Jacobs; stepchildren, Kenisha Birchett and Sean Birchett; sister, Evelyn Cooper and her husband, Julius; brother, Joe Morings and his wife, Gwen; sister-in-law Eileen McArthur and her husband, Douglas; 18 grandchildren; 3 great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara loved life and had a personality that could captivate any room. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, cooking, dancing, bingo, planning parties and events, and spending time with family and friends. Kim Marie Keefer Acy, 62, of Shenandoah, entered peacefully into rest at 2:05 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.She was born August 8, 1961, in Lewisburg, on the wedding anniversary of her parents, Jeanne M. (Wagner) Keefer of New Berlin, and the late Wallace "Wally" L. Keefer, Sr. Kim was a graduate of Lewisburg High School, and obtained her associate degree at Penn College, bachelor’s degree at Bloomsburg University, and master’s degree at Marywood University. She was employed by the Department of Corrections, SCI Mahanoy, as a drug and alcohol treatment specialist, for 18 years until retirement in August 2023. Kim enjoyed spending time with her family, going on vacations to the beach, and cuddling up with her kitties. Surviving in addition to her mother, are one son, Jeffery Acy of Shenandoah; one daughter and her spouse, Brittney Buscavage and Crystal Helms of Northumberland; one grandson, Cole Levi Johnson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wallace, Jr. and Diane Keefer of Lewisburg, and Scot and Jane Keefer of Chester Springs; and five nieces. Dr. Dawn E. “Debbie” Costello was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Always a nurse and educator, she spent her life helping others. Surrounded by her family, she died on February 26, 2024. She was born to Thelma and Earl Barnes on December 7, 1940. After graduating high school, Dawn pursued her Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania in 1962. She continued to educate herself in her field, earning a Master of Science in education from Temple in 1967 and a Doctor of Education from Lehigh University in 1973. She later went on to earn a Master of Science in nursing at Allentown College in 1992. Dawn was married to Robert G. Costello on May 12, 1962. They had two children, Michael and Kelly, and three grandchildren, Alessandro, Madeline and Cara. Dawn dedicated her life to her career in nursing. She held many roles, starting as a school nurse in the Allentown School District. She went into nursing administration and served as the Associate Director of Nursing for Allentown Sacred Heart Hospital. She was the Director of Public Health Nursing for the cities of Allentown and Bethlehem. Dawn later served as Director of Nursing at both Coaldale Hospital and Liberty Nursing and Rehab Center. Deb enjoyed living with her husband and family on their farm where she could garden and enjoy the birds and deer from her window. Her greatest enjoyment came from being with her children and grandchildren. Supporting their mission to serve the community, Dawn spent many years as a member of the Rotary Club of West Allentown. Dr. Jeffrey W. Thompson

After a brief illness Dr. Jeffrey W. Thompson, 78, died on February 28, 2024 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital. Jeff was born along with his twin brother, William, in Youngstown Ohio to Kathryn (Hoover) and Edwin Rowe Thompson on July 2, 1945. He spent his younger years growing up in Boardman , Ohio before moving to Canfield, where he graduated with the class of 1963. Jeff spent idyllic summers starting as a camper and working through counselor levels at his beloved YMCA Camp Fitch on Lake Erie. The rest of his summers were spent at the family cottage, the Hoover cottage, that has remained in the family for over 100 years, on Bass Lake, Lake Michigan. As a teenager he was very active with gymnastics at the Youngstown YMCA, He was a 1968, cum laude graduate of Wittenberg University in Springfield Ohio, majoring in chemistry. Jeff graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1972 and furthered his medical training in internal medicine in Reading PA. In June of 1972 he married Linda Mamone, also a Wittenberg University graduate. They celebrated almost 52 years of marriage. Jeff spent many years as a medical director at the former AT& T in Allentown PA before gravitating back to practicing family medicine. Jeff’s greatest joy was being a loving dad to his two daughters and later as a grandpa to his beloved grandsons. He and his wife enjoyed ocean and lake vacations, trips to NYC, Europe, and driving cross-country. In his youth and in retirement Jeff could be found playing his guitar, researching medical journals and maintaining his pool and property. He loved working outdoors and was also passionate about supporting animal charities. Jeff was a kind and generous man, always wanting to make life easier for others. Jeff is survived by his wife, daughters Courtney Hutchens (Peter), Caitlin (Sean Whitson) and grandsons Elliot and Benjamin Hutchens and Kipp Whitson. He leaves his sister Karen Thompson Roth, his brother-in-law, Nicholas Mamone and his wife Kristen Kjerulff. Jeff was predeceased by his infant twin brother, his parents, sister Bobbie Fluke-Fabish and brother Alan Thompson. Jeff will be greatly missed by his loving family and dear friends. Nancy L. Richey, 78, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus. Born in 1945, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Marian (Campbell) Horvath. She was the wife of the late Terry A. Richey, with whom she shared 27 years of marriage before his death in 2014. Nancy retired from Kraft foods. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo and making trips to casinos. She also enjoyed playing cards, and loved playing pinochle with her monthly card, with whom she played since 1973. Above all, Nancy enjoyed life and loved spending every minute she could with her family and friends. The family would like everyone to remember Nancy’s famous words during this time of grief and accept that “Whatever will be, will be”……”You know what I mean??” Nancy is survived by her son, Robert O. Fatzinger, Jr. (Tina), brothers Michael J. Horvath (Maria), and James Horvath, grandchildren, Caden and Emerson Fatzinger, and Blake, Shelly, Bailey, and Frankie Roberts, and a great-granddaughter Charlotte Roberts, nieces, Gina Licini, Lisa Remaley, and Tina Frey and their families. She will also be missed by her best friends, fellow card club members, and craft girls, Theresa Fox, Paulette Kalish, and Elayne Delatore. They celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary in May 2023. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late Bernard Ignatius and Frances Marie (Sweeney) Gillen. Bernie was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, received his bachelor’s degree in library science from Kutztown University and his master’s degree in media from Temple University. He was a librarian at Whitehall High School for many years before retiring. In addition to being the librarian at Whitehall High School, he was the play director for 5 years. Previously, he was a middle school librarian in New Jersey. Bernie was a member of St. Ann’s Church, Emmaus. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed going to casinos, especially in Las Vegas.
