Robert "Bob" Ray Rawlings, age 91 of Osceola, WI passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at his home in Osceola. Bob was born on April 15, 1932 to Charles and Agnes (Schouweiler) Rawlings in St. Paul, Minnesota. He attend Johnson High School and graduated class of 1951. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Lindstrom on June 7, 1952 and on January 8, 1953, he was drafted into the United States Army. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged on January 7, 1955. After the service he and Beverly made their home in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. In 1971, they moved to Osceola, Wisconsin and have been a part of the community ever since. Bob owned and operated Northern Electricians "NEI" in St. Croix Falls and retired in 2004. Bob was involved in the St. Croix Falls VFW, president of the Deer Lake Association, head of the Peace Lutheran building committee, on the calling board for the church. Bob was Scout Master for the Osceola, Wi chapter of the Boy Scouts and with his leadership, 7 young men achieved Eagle Scout rank in one year! This was quite an accomplishment and he talked all his life about how proud he was of those 7 men, especially in his latter years. When he wasn't involved in the community, he was out enjoying his hobbies. Bob enjoyed mowing his lawn, golfing, hunting, travelling, learning about history, taking a drive and anything to do with the military. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his children and grandchildren. Bob's positive attitude, giant heart and big smile will be missed by many. Bob is survived by his wife of 71 years, Beverly; children, Todd (Rita) and Sue (Amy Luesebrink-Rawlings) Rawlings; grandchildren, Joshua and Ryan Rawlings; great-grandchildren, Leo, Freja and Mason Rawlings; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Agnes and siblings, Charles, Neale and Helen. Memorials preferred to Peace Lutheran Church.

Mark Eldon Deal, age 55, of Osceola, WI. He passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN, surrounded by his family. Mark was born April 5, 1968, in Hudson, WI. In 1985, Mark married Debbie and together they were blessed with three children. There was nothing more that he cherished than his daughter and two sons, and his grandchildren later in life. Mark loved working on vehicles & any small engine. He learned to fix vehicles all on his own. He could tell you what was wrong with a vehicle just by listening to it. There was nothing that couldn't be fixed or repurposed. Mark had such a big heart. He was such a gentle, patient, kindhearted, family man. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was always there to lend a helping hand throughout his life, was a jack of all trades and was good at everything. Mark had a knack with all children and animals, they all seemed to take to him instantly. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it be in person or chatting on the phone for long periods of time. If you were having a hard day, his comforting voice and his goofy personality would instantly change your mood. He had a way of calming the storm. He is dearly missed by his family and friends. Mark is preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Deal; biological father, Frank Deal; and grand-daughter, Khyla Gates. He will remain in the hearts of his parents Richard & Judy Hanson; Children: Jackie (Travis) Lane, Mark Deal (Cassy Anderson), and Chris (Stef) Deal; Grandchildren: Brianne Lane; Ryker Gates, Khyler Deal; Connor & Carl Deal; Sisters, Vickie (LeRoy) Koehler, and Judy (Gary) Otlo; and many nieces & nephews; great nieces & nephews; and other extended family and close friends. Joan Elaine Gear, age 77, of Osceola, WI, passed away peacefully with her devoted husband Ed by her side after a long battle with Parkinson's disease on Saturday, October 28th, 2023. Although she was born in Osceola, WI, Joan grew up in East Farmington. After graduating from Osceola HS in 1964, she married Ed and moved to Osceola. They remained lifelong residents and were married for 56 years. Joan worked for 35 years at The RiverBank. She loved her job as a teller and staying connected to everyone in town. She was also a faithful lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church. Joan had a variety of interests, but, most importantly, she loved to laugh and to talk with loved ones. She enjoyed travelling to warm, sunny places and was an avid shopper. Shopping trips were likely to include a sweet treat such as M&M's, DQ Blizzards, or Junior Mints. Baking was also a hobby she enjoyed, especially with her grandchildren. Joan's grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved bowling and golfing, often playing many local courses with family and friends. Every summer, she volunteered at the annual children's golf camp. Joan always surrounded herself with those she loved. Joan is survived by husband, Edward; sister, Yvonne (Lewis) Ingram; brother, Donald (Andrea) Rud; daughters, Dannette Gear and Tammy (Bryan) Aslesen; grandchildren, Joshua Gear-Heitman, Dylan (Valencia) Gear-Silvey, and Sarah Aslesen. Joan is preceded in death by mother, Ethel (Schmidt) Rud; father, Paul Rud; brother, John (Barbara) Rud; nephews, Scott Ingram and Justin Rud; and Dannette's partner, Ken Silvey. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 P. M. on Saturday, November 18th, 2023, with the visitation beginning at 1 P. M.
