Robert J "Robbie" Popke, 71, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Tuesday evening, October 3, 2023, surrounded by his family in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky He was born on June 27, 1952, in Sandusky, OH the son of Clarence Frederick and Alberta Betty (Jarrett) Popke Robbie was a 1970 graduate of Perkins High School He was a veteran having served honorably in the Ohio Army National Guard from 1971 - 1977 On January 4, 1971, Robbie started working at the Routh Packing Company and was there for nearly 40 years, retiring in July 2005 He had also owned and operated the Sandusky Athletic Club for nearly 20 years (since Oct 2003) and had been a fishing Charter Captain, piloting his boat "Seeker" for 25 years Over the years, he loved spending time with his daughter and his grandsons and had also enjoyed socializing with others, going out fishing and hunting He was a life member of the A M V E T S Post # 17 and the Sandusky Orioles Club Nest # 279 Robbie is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Zachary) Popke-Miller of Castalia; his three grandsons, Dylan, Dawson and Kolton; a sister, Julie A Betschman of Sandusky; his nieces and nephews; his significant other, Doddie Neumeyer of Sandusky; and close family friends, Bill and Judy Palmer He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William A Popke It was his wish to be cremated The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 4-7 pm at the David F Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky A private family graveside service will be held in Sand Hill Cemetery, Sandusky A "Celebration of Robbie's Life" will be held for him at the Sandusky Athletic Club, 902 W Adams Street, on Saturday, October 14, 2023 starting at 1:00 pm The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc , 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870; to Cancer Services of Erie County, 505 E Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 Your memories and words of comfort may be shared with Robbie's family at davidfkoch com To to the family or in memory of Robert James Popke, please

Noah Hunter, 86, of Sandusky, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Our Beloved Noah was born March 26, 1937, in Garrett, Kentucky. In the 1950's Noah relocated his family to Clarksfield, Ohio where he built a home from the ground up with some help from neighbors and family at the young age of 22. He was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. He retired from the Village of Wellington Utilities where he worked for more than 30 years. As a jack of all trades, there was not anything he could not do. He was humble, kind and a pillar of strength to all. He deeply cared for others and spoke directly from his heart giving you his honest opinion at all times. He loved life and people. He would quickly become a friend to all who he met with his southern charm and infectious smile. His hobbies were playing cards, fishing, hunting, playing with his backhoe, attending flea markets, repairing cars and lawn mowers and tinker in his garage on small projects. His favorite time of year was Christmas as he played Santa for the little ones at "Aunt" Donnas every Christmas. He truly loved the meaning and spirit of family. Noah is survived by five children, Eugene Hunter, Geneva Hunter, Janette Howard, Caroline Hunter Tokar, Donna (Isidro) Garcia. He is also survived by several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren. Brothers; Holley Hunter, Jackie Hunter and Christopher (Karen) Hunter. Sisters; Alice (Bill) Cooper, Janie Osborne, Dora Ellen Boyd and Sally DeVoogd. Also, Shalon Rae Raab and Scott Joseph Steele, children of his long-term companion Janice Steele. Noah is preceded in death by his parents, Dollie and Emery Hunter, former wife, Maglene Hunter and a longtime companion Janice Steele, Brothers Lewis Hunter, Clovis Hunter and Kermit Hunter and five sisters; Jacqueline Traylor, Maudie Tatro, Lillie Mae Thornsberry, Marie Harvey and Imogene Hunter. Lavoro Hills, 39, Sandusky, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 27, 2023, in the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by his loving family. He was affectionately known as "Voro" or "Vilo" to his family and friends, and was born in Sandusky on January 18, 1984 to the union of Odell Hollinger and Rebecca Hartley, and graduated from Sandusky High School in 2003. Lavoro was full of love, loving his children and family. He liked to go fishing with his sister and brothers, a big game head, Green Bay Packers fan, and loved his East Adams Street crew, Jamarcus, Willie P. , Deontae, Jarmon "Money", Tyrone, Tyrondi, TJ, Deville, Tywaun, and Alisha Brown. Dennis E. St. Clair, 87, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on December 26, 1935 in Lacarne, Ohio, the son of Clayton and Esther (Rice) St. Clair. On December 31, 1953 he married Joyce Arnold and she survives. Dennis graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1953; worked as a timekeeper at Standard Products and then served in the Army National Guard from 1954 through 1966 where he was an ordinance parts specialist, and worked at Camp Perry as the facilities manager retiring in 1995. Following his retirement, he worked at Lowes until a stroke affected him at age 79. Dennis enjoyed traveling, helping anyone in need, and especially loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Joyce; son, Mark (Jolene) St. Clair; daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Walterbusch; son, Jeffrey (Judy) St. Clair; son, Scott St. Clair; grandchildren, Ryan (Sarah) Crawford, Megan Erdmann, Tabitha St. Clair, Michael St. Clair, Andrew St. Clair (Grace Reynolds), Jacob St. Clair, Rachel St. Clair, Rebecca Souza, Joel Souza; great-grandchildren, Gage & Blaine Erdmann, Mason & Hannah Crawford, Savannah St. Clair, Justin Schottler, Blake Johnson, Oliver St. Clair, Emmit Chambers, Penelope Souza, Jocelyn Jamerson, Jordan Carter; great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Ashby; and sister, Beverly (James) Johannson. Max L. Harshman, of Marblehead, OH passed away Thursday,November 30, 2023, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky,Ohio after a sudden illness. He was born in Randolph County, Indiana, the son ofGlen and Ruth Harshman. Max graduated from Spartanburg High School and the GaleInstitute, Minneapolis, MN, following which he went to work for the B & O Railroad. He retired from CSX after 43 years of employment. Max was a devoted golfer, having won the club championship at the former Rolling Acres Golf Courseand was runner up the next year. He loved anything pertaining to the railroad, but most of all loved his family, especially his many nieces and nephews. Max is survived by his wife Marilyn, (Gott), to whom he was married for 48 years. He served his country in the United States Army and had been a member ofChrist Community Evangelical Free Church prior to moving to Marblehead. He was amember of the Brotherhood of Railway and Airline Clerks, The American Legion and theNational Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, Unit144 (N. A. R. V. E. )Also surviving are his sisters: Patricia (Carroll) Stracenerof Muncie, IN, Joyce Atwood of Ormond Beach, FL; sisters-in-law:Janice Harshman, Ruth Harshman, Doris Harshman and many nieces andnephews. Louis "LB" McGill, 79, Sandusky, peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on November 20, 2023, in The Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron. He was born on July 28, 1944 to the late Lewis and Wilma McGill of Vossburg, Mississippi. Louis graduated from Shirley Owens High School in Quitman, Mississippi. He was employed by Union Royal in Port Clinton, and after retirement from Union Royal, he worked at Sawmill Creek in Huron. Louis loved to ride around town visiting his family and best friend Danny Aaron Sr. He also loved yard work, singing in the Providence Missionary Baptist Church Choir. He also loved talking and associating with people. Louis loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Joseph M. A. Strong. He served on the Usher Board and Male Chorus Choir. Louis leaves to cherish his memories, his daughter, Latrice Susan McGill, New Orleans, LA; his son, DeRon (Ayana) McGill, Romeoville, IL; grandchildren, Bria, Sandusky, Nasji, CA, and Amari, Romeoville, IL; his brothers, Henry (Mattie) McGill, Sandusky, Danny Charles McGill, Vossburg, MS. Jay Leroy Bickley Jr. , 96, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Parkvue Healthcare Center after a brief illness. Jay was born on February 26, 1927 in Sandusky, OH to the late Jay and Marie (Ocker) Bickley, Sr. Jay graduated from Sandusky High School class of 1945. He was a veteran of the Army who proudly served his country during WWII. He was co-owner of several local contracting businesses, known as Tru-Wall and Midwest Construction. He also was co-owner of Variety Village, a local beverage drive thru center. Jay was also employed and retired as a union carpenter. He was a lifetime member of the Sandusky Elks Lodge, Amvets, and the American Legion. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, playing cards, and was an avid boater. Jay is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Jane Bickley (Dise) of Sandusky; his children Jay (Judy) Bickley, Daniel (Cindy) Bickley, and Beth (Doug) Barnett ; 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Bickley, his grandson, Jayson Bickley, and his sister, Nora Lee Bickley. Joanne was born on August 31, 1946 in Sandusky, Ohio to the late Frank and Josephine (Santoro) LaGrass. Joanne graduated from Sandusky High School in 1964. She was employed with Famous Supply for forty years and eventually retired from Balconi Monuments in 2018. Joanne was a member of Holy Angels Church, I. A. B. Club Women's Auxiliary. Her greatest joy was her family, spending her retirement traveling, and attending numerous sporting events watching her grandchildren. Aretta was employed at Behnkes, Ford Motor Company and finally retired after working for Russell's Flower Shop. Aretta was an active member of Wayside Temple. She enjoyed singing with melody makers, bingo, bowling, WWE wrestling, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, puzzles, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
