A memorial service for Robert Birch Neely, 88, of Coos Bay, will be held at noon, Sunday, October 22 at Sunset Bay State Park, 89814 Cape Arago Hwy in Coos Bay Robert was born July 10, 1935 in Portland, Oregon to Edward and Olive (Cole) Neely He passed away September 6, 2023 in Coos Bay Throughout his life, Robert Neely was a family man He graduated from Roseburg High School and began a long career working as a millwright Robert loved the ocean and beaches, walking trails in the woods, picking blackberries and swimming in swimming holes His favorite pastime was baseball and he even managed little league for the town of Gold Beach in the 1960s He also enjoyed volunteering to work on the walking trails at Joh Topits Park, where he loved his daily walk In the latter part of his life, Robert also worked as an apartment manager He is survived by his son, Terry Neely of Roseburg; daughter, Judy Sackett of Coos Bay; daughter, Penny Dismukes of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren (and growing) Arrangements are under the care of Coos Bay Chapel, 541-267-3131 Family and friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at www coosbayareafunerals com To to the family or in memory of Robert Birch Neely, please

A graveside service with military honors for Steven York Dery Sr. , 69, of Coquille, will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens, 94105 Rink Creek Lane in Coquille. Steven was born November 29, 1953 in Syracuse, New York, to Donald Dery Sr. and Phyllis Oliphant. He passed away November 18, 2023 in Coos Bay. When Steve was 4 years old, he and his family traveled on the Coast-to-Coast train to Oregon, where they settled and made their home. Steve graduated from Myrtle Point High School, class of 1971. He then enlisted in the Marine Corps and served for four years. Steve loved our country and was a very proud Marine! After his time with the Marines, Steve attended SWOCC, where he and his older brother enjoyed wrestling together on the same team. Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He worked hard as a logger and loved what he did. He was a fan of Elvis, Tommy James and the Shondells, and Johnny Horton. After he retired, he spent a lot of time working with his tractor. Steve has an extended family, which he loved beyond words. He is survived by his wife, Allison; children, Lisa Hoag, Stephanie (Jason) Empson, Jason Hughes, Susie (Joey) Abrao, Ashley (Joey) Hughes and Steven Dery Jr. ; grandchildren, Dilyn, RJ, Ostyn, Cole, Izaiah, Emma, Wyatt, Joshua, Clara, Madison, Brandon, Leila and Olivia; brothers and sisters, Donald Dery, Koren King, Candace Hinzmann, Gail Heidel, Joe Dery and Michelle Heisen; multiple nieces and nephews; and his honorary grandson, Chance Dery. He was preceded in death by his dad, Donald Dery; mother, Phyllis Oliphant; brothers, Jimmy, Johnney, Phillip and Jeff; and his sister, Melody.
