Robert Earl Ivy, affectionately known as "Ballie", son of the late Jessie Ivy and Mary Fondren-Ivy, was born on October 25, 1949, in Lafayette County, MS. Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age at Mt Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Robert had many hobbies he enjoyed in his pastime. Hanging with his family and friends, he made trips to the casino, worked in the yard, and listened to 95. 5FM Gospel Time on Sundays, to name a few. Bossman, well-known by his coworkers, made his main priority providing for his family. During the 50 years of labored pouring concrete, he was a faithfully employed by M and K and Martin and Martin concrete companies. In holy matrimony, Robert and Roberta Ivy had two children, Lisa and Robert. On Thursday, June 16, 2022, Robert departed this life at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi and entered eternity. He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter; Lisa Doolittle (Detric) and one son; Robert Ivy (Jamilia), a special companion, Patricia Brown and three bonus children, Delicia Booker and Jamie Carter of Oxford, Brannon Booker (Alexis) of Louisville, Kentucky; three brothers; Charles Ivy of Oxford, MS, John Ivy (Sandra) and Moss Ivy both of Indianapolis, IN, five sisters; Earlie Mae Savage (Connie) and Olean Gillard (Frank) of Oxford. MS, Frenchie Sisk of Pontotoc, MS, Lula Jones of Albany. NY, and Bernice Townsend (Doug) of Milwaukee, WI, and sister in law, Maggie Mae Ivy of Oxford, 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, the Coleman family, family friend, Rossie Vaughn, and other relatives and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents: Jessie and Mary Fondren-Ivy, special friend, Roberta Ivy, four brothers; Jessie Ivy, Jr. , Russell Edward "Sam" Ivy, and Henry "Mook Ivy, Willie Frank FuIIer.
