Robert Feinberg Obituary

H. Robert (Bob) Feinberg, of Bel Air, Md passed away on October 1, 2023, surrounded with the love of his family. Born in Dover, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Herman and Anne (Leek) Feinberg and husband of 60 years to Gloria Feinberg. He attended Dover High School where he played basketball and ran track and field. After high school Bob attended Rider University where he studied accounting. After graduation he went to work for the Federal Government in July of 1956 at Picatinny Arsenal working in the Comptroller’s Office maintaining the Arsenal operating budget under the Army Industrial Fund. In 1963, he transferred to the Munitions Command to oversee the working capital fund for the Command. This included overseeing the budget and operations of Picatinny, Frankford, Edgewood, Pine Bluff and Rocky Mountain Arsenals. In October of 1972, he transferred to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds where he was promoted to the Chief of the Resource Management Division for the Project Manager for Chemical Demilitarization. In this position he assured that all the resources required were acquired and used in a judicious manner within Army regulatory requirements in the destruction of the U. S Army Chemical Weapon Stockpile. In his spare time, he enjoyed coaching his children in baseball, softball, and basketball. He also enjoyed playing golf with his family. After leaving the Federal Civilian Service Bob and his wife, Gloria, moved to Florida to enjoy their retirement years. They belonged to Hunters Green Golf Club in Wesley Chapel, FL where Bob was elected to the Chairman position on the Board of Governors. During his term as Chairman, he was instrumental in championing the construction of a patio addition to the clubhouse that overlooked the eighteenth green. The dedication plaque placed there bears his name. As his health failed, they moved back to Bel Air, Md in December of 2022, to be closer to friends and family. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two children, Sharon (Terron) Oliver and Michael (Beth); five grandchildren, Sarah (Steve) Gambrill, Amanda (Mike) McLean, Myles (Jeff)Solheim, Jayden Oliver, and Treyvon Oliver; and one great grandchild, Chloe. He is also survived by his niece and nephew, Richard (Miriam) Franek and Barbara Franek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Hollis, and sister, Joan Franek.
