Eric passed away on Monday October 2, 2023 at the age of 65 He was born in New Orleans, La to the late Mary Patricia Finley Eason and Judge Alvin Rudy Eason on December 14, 1957 Eric is survived by his brothers Tobin Eason and Richard Eason, his niece KatieZayas-Bazan and nephews Tobin Eason, II, Thomas Eason, Blake Eason, Kyle Eason and Grant Eason Eric graduated from St Pauls' High School in Covington, La and attended Louisiana State University In his early career he worked in the restaurant business as a chef at Masson's Restaurant and Antoines Restaurant Thereafter, he became an entrepreneur operating his own restaurant known as Chef Bangs in Kenner As a chef he was best known for his gumbo Eric was very successful in developing Bayou Bang Gourmet Cajun Spices which was distributed in food stores throughout the metro New Orleans area He worked as a stand-up comedian at different clubs in the metro area Eric was a true people person always joking with everyone he met He was a friend and mentor to many and found great joy in helping those suffering the effects of substance abuse Eric exemplified the expression, "This is what we do for others" Sitting on his couch watching a game with his Labrador Retriever by his side brought Eric much joy Baboon and Rosco were his canine companions As a boy Eric's brothers nicknamed him "ROCK" As he went through intense suffering in the last 6 weeks of his life in the hospital, Eric was a ROCK for all of us He never complained despite the intense pain he endured and was always thinking of those who cared for him in the hospital and the many friends and family who visited him daily His keen sense of humor was ever present He showed us the way to manage the challenging times of the end of earthly life Eric had a strong relationship with God He often spoke about how this bond with God helped him overcome the most difficult challenges in life He lived by James 1:12, "Blessed is the man who endures trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of Life which God has promised to those who love Him" The family wants to thank his many caretakers at East Jefferson and West Jefferson hospitals A special thanks to his physicians Drs Saxtena, Samont, Laskey, Battista, and Russo The care given to our brother was excellent Likewise, a special thanks to his neighbors Jeff Lipari and Brandon Craig who cared for Rosco and his home during Eric's suffering and for his many friends who visited him in the hospital offering him comfort and encouragement There will be a celebration of Eric's life on 10/13 at the Garden of Memories located at 4900 Airline Dr in Metairie, La 70001 Visitation will be at 10:00-12:00 followed by Mass in the chapel To to the family or in memory of Robert Eason, please

Elinor "Avis" Greene Conti passed away on December 2, 2023, at the age of 95. She was born in Berkley, California to the late; Harvey Douglas Greene and the late; Anne Louise Loutzenhiser. Avis lived most of her life in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was married for 52 years to her beloved, late husband; Anthony "AJ" Joseph Conti. Together they had two children, Mark Edwin Conti, and Claire Adrienne Conti. Avis was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Anne Greene, her husband AJ, and brother Carol Dean Greene (Betsy). She is survived by her two children: Mark and Claire Conti. Claire's cat, Krissy, her cat, Spicy, her nephew; Stephen Greene, niece; Karen Greene (Brian Eckmann), and one great-niece; Katie Green. Avis was a graduate of Eleanor McMain High School. She then continued her education at Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana where she majored in science. She worked for Hotel Dieu and Smith Kline Laboratories as a Medical Technologist. She had an interest in dance and was quite the ballerina as a child. Mrs. Conti was a breast cancer survivor of over 50 years. While being a supported of The American Cancer Society, she also supported a variety of animal charities. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, Days of our Lives, and the Saints on Sunday with her daughter, Claire. Avis had a real passion for theatre as an actress and audience member. She starred in the final production at Carlone's Dinner Theatre, "Not Without Grandma" by Susan Monnet. She eloquently performed the role of narrator in two Jefferson Performing Arts Society productions of "Peter Pan," both directed by her dear friend, "Uncle" Wayne Daigrepont in 2002 and 2018. Avis played opposite the great Stocker Fontelieu in "Inherit the Wind" at Rivertown Repertory Theatre in 1994. She met her husband, AJ, in the theatre, as he too was a performer. Avis performed in several radio shows and plays while studying at Loyola University, including a few productions of "Arsenic and Old Lace. " She also played the clarinet in Loyola University's band. Her brother, Carol and son, Mark were also clarinet players. Mrs. Conti was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church and the parish St. Jude Society. She loved everything about Christmas and her decorations each year were gorgeous; "practically perfect. " In fact, that could also be said about every costume or fancy dress she ever created, mostly for her daughter Claire's performances and social events. She was very proud of her son Mark's volunteer endeavors as a member of the Metairie Jaycees and other organizations. When Mark was a child, she was a dedicated Den Mother while Mark participated in Cub Scouts and directed the scouts in the play "The Littlest Angel. " Relatives and Friends are invited to attend services on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12pm-2pm, with a Catholic Mass to follow at 2pm. Timothy Joseph Perkins, born on May 9, 2013, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023. He enjoyed being outside throwing the ball with his Uncle Tony, taking rides in the car, going to Pelican Pointe Car Wash, PJ's Coffee, Target and Walmart. Timothy also loved going with Uncle Tony and Annie to their store, Pelican Nutrition, and getting himself a drink. He also looked forward to going to school at Alice Birney and being with his teachers and his principal, Ms. Ledesma. Timothy loved Spiderman and bathtime. If Timothy was upset, Annie would play Lainey Wilson's "Heart Like a Truck" and sing with him. He loved him some Lainey. He enjoyed his food too - SpaghettiO's, Greek yogurt, sweet potatoes, pudding, applesauce, spaghetti, turkey meatballs, hamburgers, seafood gumbo, Pediasure, and chocolate snowballs. Timothy would say "Eat, hungry, yay, woah, hey, Dad, and Mom". He loved to watch John Hartman, See it Say it Sign it, Fragile Rock, Love it or List it and football on Sundays with Uncle Tony. Timothy was able to experience a lot of firsts with his aunt and uncle and we were not finished, we had more to do! He is survived by his parents, Angela Albano and Anthony Perkins; his aunt and uncle, Annie Young and Anthony Albano who were also his guardians; his grandfather, Angelo Albano and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. He joins his grandmother, Patricia Albano in heaven. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie at 11:00 am. Elizabeth Proffitt Bell passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 99. She was born in Maryville, Tennessee on July 29, 1924, to the late; Harry H. Proffitt Sr. and late; Lelia Graham Proffitt. Elizabeth graduated in 1946 with her bachelor's degree in education, from Maryville College in Tennessee. She worked for University of Tennessee extension service and Cannon County school district. She was also a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church in Maryville, Tennessee. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, Winfred Dean Bell; her six siblings: Dr. James N. Proffitt (Ruth), Harry H. Proffitt Jr. (Margaret), Mary Proffitt Wright (Dr. Robert C. ), Margaret Proffitt Cunningham (Ben), twin brother; William F. Proffitt (Vera), and Dr. Robert D. Proffitt. She is survived by her son; Marlon Dean Bell (Beth), grandchildren: James Michael Bell (Claire), and Emily Elizabeth Brooks (Edward), great-grandchildren: Eliza, Evelyn, Edison, and Cameron. Elizabeth is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family wishes to give a personal thank you to Ville Ste Marie Senior Living, The Lodge at Tangi Pines, and Modern Hospice. Louisiana Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2023, at New Life Community Church in Luling, Louisiana for 2pm with a reception to follow. Tennessee Memorial Services with be held on Saturday, January 13, 2023, starting with an Inurnment at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, Tennessee for 9:00 AM, Followed by a Memorial Service at Maryville College Center for Campus of Ministries at 10:30 AM.
