Yvonne is a graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School and College of Lake County. She was a beloved teacher at Lake Forest High School. Yvonne will be dearly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her children, Julian Lott, Antoine Williams, Jeremy Williams, Candace Williams and Jada Lovelady; grandchildren, Aiden, Charlotte, Ezra Ann and Ira; mother, Merlean Lovelady and siblings, Curtis Jr, Stacey, Jackie and Tony Lovelady. Yvonne is preceded in death by her father, Curtis Lovelady Sr; Nevelle Williams and Julians Lott Sr. Memorial Visitation will take place Saturday February 24, 2024 at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

William (Bill) Louis Beckerson Jr.

William (Bill) Louis Beckerson Jr., passed away on February 12, 2024 at age 72 in Waukegan, Illinois. He was born on January 13, 1952 at the Naval Base in North Chicago, Illinois the son of William L. Beckerson Sr., and Ruth R. (Barker) Beckerson. He spent his early childhood at his grandparent’s farm, Selma and Tom Barker. He shared his fond memories of living on the farm throughout his life. Bill and his six siblings moved frequently due to William senior’s career in the Air Force. Ultimately, the family moved to Vulcan, Michigan and Bill married his high school sweetheart, Ann (Bartoletti) Beckerson on May 5, 1973 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. He joined the U.S. Navy at age 35 and served for twenty years, garnering many honors and rising through the ranks. Afterwards, Bill worked as an electrical engineer until he retired in 2017. He was a veteran, a tinkerer, a renaissance faire enthusiast, a grill master, and a loving family man. Bill is survived by his wife, Ann Beckerson; daughter, Margaret; son-in-law Brandon, and two grandchildren Hailey and Wyatt; siblings, Amber Beckerson, Penny (Dirk) Dunham, Laura (Mike) Pearson, Jim (Peggy) Beckerson, Matt Beckerson, Chris (Darla) Beckerson; honorary brother, Fred Smeester; and family friends, Dawn Beckerson, and Sue Hartman. Family and friends are invited to attend the service for the final placement of his ashes at Pembine Cemetery on May 4 . The family is grateful for the condolences but declines flowers and donations.

Juan Jose Limon Born 01/14/1955 - Asleep in Death 02/10/2024 Juan Jose Limon from Waukegan, Illinois who was retired, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 69. He was surrounded by his loved ones until his last breathe. He came to learn about Jehovah in Waukegan, 111. and in October 22, 2011 in Romeoville, IL, he was baptized and became a Jehovah’s Witness. He was faithful to the end to Jehovah and was always strong and always knew that no matter what happened, with Jehovah, everything was going to be alright. He would always say, “Jehovah doesn’t have my right hand only, He has both of my hands.” Juan was born in Mexico in a little town by the name of Joconoxtle in the State of Jalisco. He came to the South Side of Chicago in 1976 to try to start a better life. He worked at restaurants starting as a dishwasher and later learned how to cook American style food. He loved to cook. Juan loved to cook Mexican food for his Family and Friends. WOW!! He could cook! We are all going to miss that. Juan met his wife Diana Limon in 1976. They were married on Nov. 02, 1978 and they lived in the South side of Chicago, Illinois. In 1980, they moved to Waukegan, Illinois. Together they had a total of five children. Juan and Diana had many loving family and friends. This is Juan’s family tree together with his wife, Diana B. Limon. (1st) Jose A. Limon (age 45) — (2) children (2nd) Juan Jose Limon JR. Juan Jose was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Zuniga Diaz and father, Pedro Temores, and siblings, Jose, Concepcion, Francisca and Librada Juan is survived by: His wife (Diana B. Limon), (4) children, Grandfather of 16, and siblings, Bernabe, Albina, Carmen and Maria, and many nieces and nephews I am going to miss you so much my love. You were my Love, my friend, my everything. I cry for you every day, but I know that you wouldn’t want that from me. I know you loved me with all your heart too, and I Thank you for letting me know that everyday and especially before you went to sleep in death. You’ll always be in my heart, my thoughts and my prayers and I will stay strong and hang on to the hope of that everlasting life on a beautiful Paradise Earth. We will see each other again and be on this Paradise Earth with all our loved ones, but forever this time. I love you and i’ll see you soon Your Wife, Diana B. Limon.

Diana Ulrich of Wadsworth, Illinois, passed away January 22, 2024 in Waukegan, IL. She was born November 2, 1937 in Waukegan, IL to Paul and Mathilda Trnovec. Diana married Donn “Buzzy” Ulrich on September 3, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waukegan. Diana attended Northwestern University and College of Lake County. She was a devout member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for 63 years. She also worked as a legal secretary. Diana was a member of the Ladies Aid Society at Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was the president at the time of her passing. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling the world. She taught english as a second language to students and was a reading tutor for adult education. Diana is survived by her children, Andrea (Jay) Tucker and Sandra (Curt) Buetow; grandchildren, Joel (Lindsey) Tucker, Jessica (Dave) Schauer, Alex (Emily) Buetow, Hannah (Ryan) Ferguson and Eric (Crystal) Buetow; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, William Trnovec; and sister-in-law, Sissy (Art) Castillo. Diana is preceded in death by her parents, Mathilda (Cerk) Trnovec and Paul Trnovec Jr.; husband, Donn “Buzzy” Ulrich; great grandsons, Grant and Nolan Tucker and niece, Marcia Stone. A memorial service will take place Saturday. January 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1310 North Frolic Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085.

Kenneth L. Wedge, 85, of Laurium, MI. passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in Waukegan, IL. He was born October 26, 1938 in Waukegan, IL. Ken grew up in Gurnee, IL, where he attended Gurnee Grade School and Warren Township High School, graduating in the class of 1956. Following high school, Ken served honorably in the U.S. Army Reserves. He then made his living as an electrical contractor (IBEW), and later as a licensed realtor and assessor in Michigan. In 1968, Ken moved to Houghton County, MI where he purchased a lakeside home in Lake Linden. Ken loved the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; hunting and fishing; country & western and bluegrass music. He happily resided in Houghton County for the remainder of his life, until a terminal illness suggested a return to Illinois, to be closer to family. Ken was a loving son to his parents during their lives, brother to his sister and brothers, and beloved uncle to his nieces and nephew. He maintained cherished longtime friendships with a handful of buddies, visiting with them on regular trips back to the Gurnee area and they, on hunting and fishing trips to the UP. He is survived by a sister, Bonnie Shepperd (James) of Wadsworth, IL, nieces Deborah Spurgeon, Wadsworth, IL, Laurie Hatton (James) of Zion, IL, Donna Markey (Ron), Albuquerque, NM and nephew John Shepperd (Julie) of Pleasant Prairie, WI, 2 grandnieces, 5 grandnephews, and 3 great-grand nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pearl Wedge, 2 brothers, Lawrence and Allen Wedge, sister-in-law Barbara Wedge, nephew-in-law David Spurgeon, paternal grandparents Clarence and Jessie Wedge, maternal grandparents George and Gladys Melka, as well as a number of aunts and uncles. Services will be held at the Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, IL on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, with visitation at 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Brian Walter, officiating. Interment to follow at Millburn Cemetery, Old Mill Creek, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Gurnee Community Church.
