"Robert (Bobby) C. Byrd passed away at home on September 7, 2023 at the age of 78 after an extended illness. Bobby was born in Baltimore MD and spent 40 years living on Kent Island MD before retiring to Harrington DE. He spent over 50 years working as a union carpenter. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, being outdoors with his dogs, tinkering in his garage, and spending time with family and friends. Bobby is survived by his wife Sharon and her children Michele Thomas and Richard (Crystal) Clow, Jr. , and grandchildren Austin Clow, Gavin Clow, and Ryan Thomas, and his daughters Robyn (Jimmy) Bedford and Melissa (Tony) Doney, and their children. He was preceded in death by his son Robert L. Byrd (little Bobby). Per Bobby's wishes, a funeral service will not be held, however a celebration of life is scheduled for October 15, 2023 at the Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Department from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Felton Volunteer Fire Department in DE. "

"Karen McCauley Edwards, of Greensboro, MD lost her hard fought battle with cancer on September 25, 2023. She was 63. Karen was born along side of her twin brother, Michael "Mike" McCauley, October 4, 1959, to Barbara Bresnahan McCauley and Howard Dewy McCauley, Jr. , in Washington, D. C. She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1977 and attended University of Maryland, College Park for two years. For ten years, Karen worked at Ray's Ranch House in Hyattsville, eventually becoming Assistant Manager. She then began a thirty six year career at Giant Food in Landover, MD followed by Sykesville and Easton. In 1983, Karen married her soulmate and love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Edwards. The two never had children but were loving parents to many dogs, cats, reptiles, and birds. Karen was also a second mother to all her nieces and nephews. Karen was a die-hard sports fan. In her younger years, she played basketball and softball. When not playing sports, she was cheering on her beloved Commanders (HTTR) and Nationals. She attended dozens of football and baseball games. Karen also enjoyed the beach and considered her annual beach trip with Aunt June the highlight of her year. Karen was predeceased by her beloved husband Charles "Chuck" Edwards, brother Michael "Mike" McCauley, parents Barbara "Bobbie" and Howard McCauley, her grandmother Eldora and her aunt Grayce Wilson. She is survived by her nieces Darla and Michaela McCauley, her nephew Gene McCauley, her aunt June Bresnahan, uncle Thomas "Brush" Bresnahan and Lolly. She is also survived by many other family members and countless friends who love her. There will be a visitation on Wednesday October 4, 2023 from 10 - 11 AM with a service beginning at 11AM at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset Avenue. "Wendi Ann Rhodes, 54 of Greensboro, MD, left this world on September 30, 2023. Born on January 4, 1969, in Easton, MD, Daughter of Barbara, and the late William L. Wilkins. Wendi grew up on Kent Island, MD, and graduated from Queen Anne\u0027s County High School in 1987. She met her future husband, Michael Rhodes at her sixteenth birthday party. They moved to Greensboro, MD in 1988, and married in 1989. They went on to have three daughters that Wendi loved dearly. After the girls were grown, she went on to attend Wesley College and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in nursing. Wendi was a devoted nurse that worked at a few different hospitals during her career, and was most recently employed at BayHealth in Dover, and Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Wendi enjoyed working with her fellow co-workers at both hospitals. She enjoyed traveling, cruising, and going to the Denton Yacht Club on Wednesday's. She was preceded in death by her Father, William L. Wilkins, Uncle; Bud Wilkins, Nephew; Troy Wilkins, Jr. , and her grandparents; Dick and Pearl Collier, Bill and Ruth Wilkins. Wendi is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Michael Rhodes, her daughters; Krystyna Corkell (Bradley), Kaitlyn Rhodes, and Michelle Chaffman (Brett), Grandchildren; Landon Corkell, Kase Corkell, Fallon Bell, Parker Bell, Dallas Carpenter, Aubree Chaffman, and one more on the way. She is also survived by her brother Troy Wilkins (Christy), and nephew, Brady Wilkins. Wendi was a daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She made the lives of everyone she touched so much better. She was a very special person and will be deeply missed. "Michael Ben Musachio of Ridgely, MD, passed away on 24 August 2023 at the age of 91. Born December 30, 1931, he was the son of Michael and Lena Musachio. He and his sisters Connie, Celeste, and Carol grew up in Tuckahoe, NY, where their father owned a grocery store and the bakery next door. As a child, Michael filled his days working at his father's store and bakery, spending time with his many friends and cousins, catching the train into the city to see movies and to Long Island to be spoiled by his beloved grandparents and to wander around his favorite pet store, which fostered his lifelong love of pigeons. His interest in poultry and agriculture prompted him to attend the Long Island Agricultural and Technical Institute after graduating from Eastchester High School. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in animal husbandry from the University of Georgia and his master's degree in Sanitary Science from the University of North Carolina. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and then went on to own a poultry farm, become a health inspector for New York State, and eventually become an officer in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS). It was at his first post at the PHS Indian Hospital in Shiprock, NM, that he met the love of his life, Anne Garron, who predeceased him in 2017. Mike, Anne, and their children moved to Wheaton, MD, when he accepted a position at NIH In Bethesda, MD. He retired from the USPHS in 1980. In anticipation of his retirement, he and his family moved in 1979 to Ridgely, where he fulfilled a dream of owning a small farm, specializing in U-pick strawberries and blueberries. He also enjoyed selling a variety of fruits and vegetables at farmers' markets in the Washington, D. C. and northern Virginia area. His other passion was racing homing pigeons. He spent countless hours in his lofts, on the road training his birds, and at the club houses spending time swapping stories with fellow pigeon aficionados. Mike will be remembered for his ready smile, his wit, charm, excellent home-made pizza, and dedication to his Catholic faith. He and his wife traveled to religious sites throughout the world, including those in Jerusalem, Portugal (Fatima), Spain (Garabandal) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (Medugorje). He was an active parishioner at St. Benedict's in Ridgely, where he was a founding member of the St. Joan of Arc chapter of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his loving children and their spouses Michael (Diane), Marie (Emil), John (Sue), 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A son, Robert, predeceased him. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on August 31st at 11 a. m. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Ridgely with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Greensboro. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Compass Regional Hospice or St. Benedict's Catholic Church. "Robert Edmund Ober of Greensboro passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by family on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the age of 73. Born April 18, 1950, in Dover, DE he was the son of the late Ralph Irving Ober Sr. and Ruth Anna Ober. Mr. Ober, Bob to those whom he loved, was a 1968 graduate of North Caroline High School in Ridgely, MD. Following high school, he attended a trade school for audio engineering. He worked as a radio engineer between Dover DE and Easton MD for several years. In 1970 he transitioned careers and began working for his mother and father's company, Ober Automotive Warehouse, in Greensboro, where he remained involved in management and leadership until 2022. As an active servant to the community, he found countless ways to volunteer and share his ministry with those who needed it the most. He served on the board of directors for Caroline County Bank in Greensboro, volunteered with Larry Burkett's ministry 'Christian Financial Concepts' as financial counselor, served on the Board of Directors for 'God Speed Ministry', served on the Board of Deacon's at Talbot Bible Church and volunteered his audio engineering talents for Greensboro Baptist Church. He was most honored to be selected to serve on the Caroline County Board of Education. He was a passionate carpenter, beekeeper, and birdwatcher; having facilitated countless generations of bluebirds. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeannie to whom he was married on February 14, 1969; one son, Scott; two grandchildren Andy and Sarah; and two brothers Irv Jr. and Randy. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 9 at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home in Greensboro with a brief service to begin at 11:00. Burial will be at Greensboro Cemetery immediately following.
